Sometimes they can be a little hit or miss, mostly hit though. If you want a good basic taco, this is your place. I always order lengua and tripe. I also enjoy their chile relleno. They are one of the few places that make a properly stuffed, battered and fried relleno. I can't really comment on the rice or the beans because I don't order them, I just fill up on tacos. My daughter did enjoy her taco. They might get five stars if they made their own chips. That's the one thing that is really lacking there. read more

Taqueria Tres Hermanos is a great place in Dayton, Ohio to grab some burritos or other Mexican fare. The carne asada tacos were pretty stellar, as were the chorizo tacos. They held a good amount of meat, as well as cilantro and onion. The prices are great and the service was excellent, as well. Do not expect a fancy p lp ace where they brought in an interior designer for the decor and to create a hipster ambiance. This place is definitely more humble than that, but I have found the best Mexican food in these humble little dive type places. I was greeted by the employees all sitting looking like it was a slow day. During my stay one of them was watching videos on full blast so I had the pleasure of hearing that during my lunch. I ordered a variety to see what was good. Chips and salsa- Chips were stale and didn't look home made. Salsa was good. Rice and beans- Rice was good. Beans were like soup and flavorless. Carne asada, Al pastor, and lengua tacos- All were mushy meat which made the tortilla wet too. I wouldn't even be able to differentiate between the meats if I was blindfolded because they had little flavor. I added plenty of salt because it felt as though someone forgot it. If you're not too particular about your tacos and enjoy them regardless then this place is fine. I have pretty high standards though and this place wasn't even with in reach of making it. read more

I haven't been to this location since it was called Taco Loco, met a couple of friends here for lunch and it was fine. For me the biggest lack was the salsas. The one they serve with the chips tastes like tomato sauce. Almost like the sauce around Spaghetti O's, super bland. The green sauce they brought out tasted like nothing, water. The red sauce had some heat to it, just a touch, mixing it into the tomato sauce made it better, but the texture of this one is so thin it pours off of whatever you put it on. I got the ham & hot dog torta. Don't @me, the hotdog tortas are amazing from each place I have gotten them. I will say it was a little dry and for sure needed more toppings, it was mostly lettuce with a tiny tiny amount of tomato, avo and jalapeno. I fo really like how they split and grill the meats though and there was a generous portion of both. The quesadillas are HUGE. It is basically their burrito flattened out. Overall, not bad, not good. (Even before it closed and reopened) today I had to pazole, which they have on weekends, and it was decent. I have had better, but it was pretty tasty to say the least. For your information, they do not have fountain drinks, cans or bottles only. They seem to do a lot of take out service, as I have seen people picking up every time we have gone here. Well I'm editing my last review after my two most recent trips. Unfortunately things seem to be going down hill since switching over from Taco Loco. After my most recent visit I don't think I'll be back. Taco Loco was one of our go to lunch places at work so we decided to check Tres Hermanos out on Monday knowing they recent remodeled. Despite a new sign they still use the Taco Loco menu. We planned to split a carnitas burrito but they were out of carnitas (which I think they may no longer carry as they've been out the last three times), so we decided on the bistec guisado and a mini carne asada quesadilla. The meat in the quesadilla was small bits of beef, not what I imagined for carne asada, and very greasy and salty. The bigger disappointment was the guisado, this dish used to be my favorite a red spicy sauce with tender steak. Now though the red sauce had no flavor, no heat and the steak was very tough. It was so bad we couldn't eat it. The service also had gone down hill. Our waitress may have just been having a bad day but she seemed irritable with little requests (like more water). I'm sad to mark this place off my list but it isn't what it used to be. read more

This saddens me to write this as I was a HUGE fan when it was Taco Loco but I will not be returning. First of all, the service was extremely slow. Granted there was only one waitress covering the entire restaurant but during the busy lunch schedule there should certainly be two. When we were brought our basket of chips there were about 10 in the whole basket for three of us! We ordered the carnitas burrito only to be told they were out of carnitas. So our back up was the bistec guisada, steak cooked in a spicy red sauce. While this used to be one of my favorite dishes before in this instance it was tough meat in a flavorless red sauce. If you don't like clearly follow your GPS, you'll drive right by this restaurant, because it looks like a uninhabited shack from the outside. This isn't to say that inside is well decorated, but it is clean and simple. The food here is amazing. We tried everything from chicken and asada (steak) traditional tacos with lime and cilantro, the chicken quesadilla, asada tortas (my favorite), homemade horracha, flan, and vegetable sopa (think: deconstructed taco) The prices are fair, the service is great, the wait time was short for the amount of food we ordered. I'd recommend and come again, if in the Dayton area. I believe this restaurant is owned by the same people who own the Taqueria Garcia food truck, which is also great food. Overall solid meal and average tacos.. Started with complimentary chips and salsa. I got 3 taco supremes with added onion and cilantro. The meat (beef, pork) was well seasoned and the tacos had plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cilantro. The tacos were around 2$ each which, in my experiment, is on the low side for tacos.
