I always enjoy a trip to taqueria tsunami. The options are seemingly endless and always taste amazing. The restaurant stays very busy, so best to get there early or go during off-times to avoid a long wait. The prices are also fairly high for what you're getting, but I consider it a bit of a treat spot we occasionally visit. The margarita I had there was the best I've had in the area, so definitely worth the splurge to get. read more

This is the first time coming to the one in Athens, and I think I've had my best experience here! I ordered one of their mojitos, as well as the taqueria trio. Prices are decent, and the flavor is packed!!! I love their chips and salsa, but you can also never go wrong with their tots and queso. They have a decent variety in tacos, so if you get the taqueria trio you can order 2 different options. They also have bowls and other menu items if you're not craving a taco. I love how it's a mix of tex-mex and Asian cuisine, so best of both worlds! I do think service could've been better, but regardless it was still my best experience out of the other locations I've been to. read more

Our first time there today. We were greeted immediately and sat in a booth. One of the first things I noticed was the table was very sticky. I wasn't really a fan of that. The food was incredible but I did also notice that the appetizer plates that came out looked dirty as well and we didn't use them at all. Garbanzo bean salad was good but needed a crunch of some kind. Good flavor just missing an element. The biggest devastation was the s'more egg rolls had cinnamon in them... it was not listed on the menu. Thankfully you could smell it so crisis adverted. First time today. It was pretty good. We had the chips and guacamole very good. We shared the quad tacos with two tempura shrimp and one Korean bulgogi it was good. The slaw was very tasty. I also had a strawberry drink that was pretty good. I hoped they sold California rolls as it smelled like a sushi bar but all they had was tuna for their poke bowls. I ordered a takeout order of the cauliflower and the avocado egg rolls. The person of the phone was super friendly and said the order would be ready in about 15 minutes. When I came in to pick up the order at the bar I somehow became invisible. As I was able to see my take out bag behind the bar, literally six employees looked directly at me and moved on, two of them which appeared to be a manager and a bartender. After I finally flagged down the "bartender" after ten minutes he managed to take my money and hand the bag to me. I usually tip at least 20%, even for takeout orders but I couldn't reward the apathy. If you're busy, just acknowledge the person that is waiting for you. The food was good, though. The only complaint I've ever had about the food is that they say their tofu is marinated but it's literally raw tofu with some sauce drizzled over it. Stick to the meat and fried stuff and you're golden. The service has always been hit or miss. Just some basic training for servers would make a difference. read more

Recommend to us as great food. It has a hip atmosphere and our waitress was attentive. However, I was turned off immediately when the hostess repeatedly went from table to table "cleaning" with a filthy rag in hand. She never sprayed the tables with the solution she was carrying and went from seat to table top. Come on, how difficult is it to clean a table properly you're not digging a ditch. We proceeded with the meal which was underwhelming to say the least I had a taco trio of which only one was passable. My daughter had three different tacos and thought they were mediocre my son felt the same about his bowl. My yucca fries were just plain yuck. First things first, Thank you for severing us during this period! Our server was so awesome. He had curly brown hair I think and was very welcoming. It was me and my gf first time there and he was very helpful with explaining the menu and things like that. Very intentive to his guest, awesome hire. Our waiter, (name was Will I believe) gave us probably the worst service we ever received ANYWHERE. Barely gave us the time of day during the whole experience but was chatting it up with the booth next to us.
