We walked in late for a late evening dinner. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess. Decor is modern, bright and welcoming. Me and a friend came here for a margarita/ taco Tuesday on a whim. We stayed and had at least : large drinks each and they were great. It's located in a new shopping center, and it's pretty big inside. We expected a wait on a Saturday night, and they were busy, but we were seated right away. We shared a Texas quesadilla and charros beans. Both were really good (but weren't hot by the time they arrived.) My top two items to order at a Mexican restaurant are a margarita and cheese dip. They didn't have a house margarita, but the frozen Texas margarita was delicious! My very good friends recommended this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Our server at the bar was Camilo. He was attentive and had an excellent attitude. I had the Shrimp in garlic and we ordered chunky guacamole. I am really picky with guacamole dishes and this was very good. My dinner was also ample and very tasty. Instead of a creamy garlic sauce it was served scampi style . Refried beans or black beans should have been served with it but nonetheless it was enjoyable. The ambience was definitely Mexican . The noise level was a a little high but company and food made up for it. I would recommend this establishment as there are many that don't muster up to the hype. Ok, I Love Mexican Grills, but honestly not impressed with this one. The place smelled like old food, middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. Next I ordered the Salmon Mango Tacos- don't do it. The salmon was super fishy everything felt slimy in my mouth, ick. I don't know what they have done to the queso dip, even after asking for it to be reheated it was thick and cold 5 minutes after coming back to the table. After sending back the salmon I went with regular steak and cilantro taco's the cilantro was fresh but flavor on the steak was lacking. And the size of these tacos is mini so I think it's a little overpriced too! The salsa taste like someone added water, and eventually the taste will arrive.... The Cadillac Margarita is sneaky! Although it looked nothing like the menu 15 minutes after starting to sip I felt it in my head. Estrella my server was Great, good communication, fast response, I liked her she gets a 10! I didn't love it and I probably wouldn't return. It was fine just not great. They're just several problems that I had and I guess it started with the chips and salsa. The chips were super hard. It wasn't even like they were stale because you know stale chips taste like brittle cardboard but that wasn't it. These were just straight up hard for some reason. I suspect since they give you multicolor chips that they don't make them in house and that's probably where it comes from. The meal itself had a generous portion and the prices weren't bad. They also had good options for lunch but it all just lacked a certain flavor and complexity of flavor you expect even from even basic Mexican. With cheese dip you expect the milky briny salty fat flavor and honestly just tasted like thickened milk. The chicken inside the burrito was super dry and the rice while having a good color didn't really have any of the flavors you expect like tomato, corn or chicken seasoning that you might expect. The place was super crowded but they were pretty fast with everything. Had a good special and good price but overall the food just wasn't good enough for me to return. read more

Finally, a great Tex-Mex restaurant in this area! Yesterday was opening day, and me and 3 other co-workers couldn't wait to try this place. We had been calling their John's Creek location for weeks asking them when they were going to open this location. First off we we greeted by one of the owners, Daniel, who made us feel like we had been friends for years. Really great guy! Our waiter, Tod (with one D), was one of the best waiters I've ever had. We wanted for nothing, as he was constantly checking on us, refilling our drinks, and he even brought us out a sample of 3 different sauces they had to try without asking. Ask for him if you go here, you won't be disappointed with the service! The food was excellent! They have a range of lunch specials for $8.99 that include your drink. I had two chicken soft tacos, rice and beans, and a coke for lunch for less than what I would have paid at a fast food drive thru! I told Daniel you can guarantee we will be weekly regulars. We really like the trio appetizer, the guacamole was out of this world, loved the cheese dip and have never thought to try the one corn dish (street corn?) on chips. This will be my go to appetizer when I eat here. I couldn't decide what to order for my entree so I got the Mexican pizza so I could see what the different ingredients looked and tasted like for my next visit. It was delicious. My partner had the Texas fajitas and he said it was delicious. Our server, Karen was fantastic. She was prompt, took our order down correctly, kept our drinks filled and had a lovely personality. Let's just say that the positive reviews here are misleading. The food is overpriced for what you get. We were served dry and stale food. The quality is not great for the price-- the chicken and steak seemed to be the cheapest cuts available, yet they charge a premium. They automatically added a tip without providing adequate service. The server never asked if we needed a refill or anything; we had to request chips ourselves. The combo meal was especially disappointing--the burrito was just a huge tortilla with only shredded chicken inside, no toppings, and it was covered in enchilada sauce, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. I returned my food. The kids' meals are not worth the price either. The cheese quesadilla was cold, and part of it was covered in enchilada sauce, suggesting it had been dropped into another dish. Overall, I will not be returning. Please take the five-star reviews with a grain of salt--they likely haven't experienced truly great Tex-Mex or authentic Mexican food. Additionally, the service was extremely slow, and our server didn't check on us at all and took her over 20 minutes just to bring the check and I had kids with me! read more
