I was really disappointed in my recent experience here. I came here as a group of 8 for a weekday lunch, and although they weren't busy took a few minutes to get seated. There is a distinct vibe, casual but with some flair. Once seated service was slow, from ordering to getting drinks, and the food arrived in stages, which normally I don't mind but some of us were almost finished eating by the time others got their meals. The food was tasty but the portions small. You're going to need a bunch of tacos to make a meal, and it's not worth it at the price. I got the ahi tuna bowl, and it didn't fill me up, with the tuna in particular an unsatisfying amount. We tried to pay on 1 check using the QR code, but it was wrong so we had to flag down a waiter to fix it, which didn't help things as we were trying to leave. read more

used to love Bartaco - it was always such a hotspot - but it's clearly gone downhill. This was my first time at the Vinings location and my first visit back to Bartaco in a couple of years, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The service and food quality just aren't what they used to be. The guacamole was nothing special, the ceviche was overly salty and a very small portion, and the cucumbers (which were recommended) were slightly mushy with too much vinegar. The tacos were just okay. The only standout was the kale salad, which was actually very good. Service was awful. Overall, a really disappointing experience. George was my server. First to the table was a glass carafe of water and ice water. George was very knowledgeable of the menu.. being it was my first time. I had already viewed what I wanted the korean bbq ribeye rice bowl. shaved ribeye beef marinated in a sweet sesame-soy sauce, topped with spicy kimchi, korean-style spinach and crispy shallots Yum. This was light and tasty I just wish it had bbq sauce. I added a little Roja sauce for added flavor. Then I decided to have a cocktail.. George twisted my arm and made me order the Old Thymer delicious Bourbon drink, great balance of Sweet Vermouth Orange Juice, Lemon Juice, and Angostura Bitters And a little Thyme garnish. Very delicious. During my meal, I think the manager came by to check if everything was good. (Nice touch) I like when they care about the dining guests. I travel to this area 4-6 times a year and stay at a nearby hotel. I felt like I had exhausted my restaurant option's until I discovered this place. I tried a variety of tacos (Baja fish, shrimp, cauliflower and pork belly). They were all very good! The margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime juice (literally to order) were amazing. Really enjoyed the crispy oyster taco - very flavorful and a fun twist to a such a classic dish. The baja fish and chicken verde were also very good as well. I ordered the mojito and added passion fruit flavoring and recommend you do the same if you like fruity drinks. My friends and I walked in here on a Wednesday afternoon and we were greeted and sat immediately. Our server was very nice and friendly. We ordered chips and salsa along with the esquites as appetizers. Both salsas were not very spicy and the hot sauces on the table also were not spicy. I do wish there was a bit more spice in them. Bartaco Vinings is nestled in the heart of Vinings off the main road. There are 2 other businesses in the center so parking can be crowded. Free parking regardless. Easy to locate with signage from road. I joined the wait list in case they were busy. There was a nice little crowd. We got the last table indoors. They do have seating on the covered patio with heaters. Patio perfect during warmer weather. We were seated immediately by one the managers, Darren. I got the reposado Margarita and my friend got the Paloma fresco. She said it was good. She couldn't taste the tequila. So here is the thing with my Margarita..lol. Margarita by itself was okay to me. I prefer mine sweeter and this was tart. However, the sugar rum I asked for saved the drink for me. Usually, I would have asked for a little agave to sweeten. A young man who will be unnamed was our server. He did a good job making suggestions from the menu. He said the guacamole was good. I ordered a small. It came with 5 fried tortillas that I broke into pieces. Tortillas were good my themselves. The guacamole was good. Loved it!! However, if you do not like spicy, I advise against it. Definitely taste the pepper in it. Tacos were really good. Loved the flavor of the pork belly and Chicken Verde. Definitely would order them again. I just wish they were bigger. Alas, delicious food. My friend enjoyed her tacos as well. She got the chicken verde, shrimp, carnitas and sesame ribeye/steak. She said they were all really good. She tried a few of the sauces at the table. We haven't been to this location before, but consistently delicious tacos, rice bowls, and the ambience is wicked awesome. Everyone who works there is so incredibly friendly and courteous. Service was excellent, and the seating is great because you can do an indoor outdoor type of thing. Located in Vinings Jubilee, there are tons of restaurants and shops in the area. Went here for the first time and I wasn't disappointed! Starting off the watermelon mint margarita was delicioso! Unfortunately one of my guests didn't get his beer and they kept bringing out the wrong drink. Upside is they let us keep them so 2 free drinks wooo! It's an interesting format and more like family style and you mark how many of whatever you want on a card and hand it to the server. And everything just comes out as it's ready. The guac is great. They give you the fried tortilla whole so I was much more cognizant of how many of those I shoveled into my gullet because one thing about me I shouldn't be trusted around a chip and dip. Bartaco @ Vinings is always a good time. I discovered this location from an event ai went to over the summer with Yelp and it has become one kf my go-to's. Its located in the heart of Vinings near the railroad tracks. My bestie and I were seated immediately, it was a Monday night, so it was a little slow. Tonight I had a blind pirate IPA, a falafel taco, black beans, mexican street corn and the barria quesadilla. My goodness EVERYTHING WAS 10/10! Nothing like great convo, good drinks and food. I dined in at bartaco Vinings twice this year for lunch (once in July and once in September). The experience is unique because it's all done online from your smartphone. When you sit with your party, you scan a QR code (hope that it works correctly) and then use it to join a group order or begin your individual ticket. It's a very modernized approach and requires you to order your food through your phone. When it works, it is efficient & the server will come by with what you ordered in a timely manner. The struggle comes with larger parties on a group order because something in the online system seems to trigger the food to come out together, but without it being labeled to indicate who ordered which set of food. This can be problematic if there are dietary restrictions or allergies & the food is brought out together on a single tray. This caused a bit of hiccups during my second experience with a larger group (8-9 people). As far as the food goes, I LOVE their salsa and guacamole with tostadas. They make great shareables and taste so flavorful. I also like their tacos. My faves are the lobster taco, duck taco, and pork belly taco. I would probaly come back with my hubby or a small party, just because of the online ordering confusion, but it's a nice vibe in Vinings. read more

Bartaco in Vinings has become a frequent stop of ours! We love their tacos and vibe. I will say it is frequently very busy on the weekends, so I would highly recommend getting on their online waitlist. We typically have great service from the managers, but I will say sometimes it lacks from the servers. I know being a server can be tough (i've done it), but at a restaurant like this where they use an online ordering platform. I would love to get more attention from my server. Our drinks tonight took over 20 minutes to come out, and you would have hoped our server was checking on that for us. I still love the food and it always is perfect. I will say the special Summer Squash taco they have is amazing! The flavoring is so good and it's very light. Definitely try that if you get the chance to go before the special is over. I am usually a big fan of Bartaco. They fell short tonight. I ordered a 4-pack of Baja fish tacos for pick up and got home to find barely enough fish for 2, maybe 2.5 tacos. Additionally, when I arrived, no one was upfront managing pick up orders, and no one ever came up front. After waiting for a while, I identified my bagged order on a side table (getting cold), took it, walked back to the sit down area and notified an employee (waiter? manager?) that I was taking it, and left. I tried to call the restaurant after I got home to complain about the fish portion, but no one answered the phone. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is the food was still pretty good. The outside seating was preferred and I got a load of stuff to try and was exceptionally pleased by the taste and the temperature of the food. They did not miss. To start I had the salsa verde. I love that the green salsa was the right flavor for those round tortilla chips you get with them. They were warm and toasty but they broke easily and paired well with the dip. I ordered the grapefruit agua fresca because I love grapefruit and it was the perfect choice for me. On to the tacos. I chose the falafel, the spicy verde chicken, and the tuna on a lettuce Bibb. Chefs kiss. Tasted like I was eating sushi but without having to dip my tuna in soy sauce. The falafel was a little spicy but I don't mind a little heat. The chicken verde was excellent. I really had no complaints here. The service was marvelous. They do have a different system here though, so you don't necessarily order with a waiter but it's still pretty great because "dragonflies" (a name for their waiters) are floating around to check on you and make sure you are good. For dessert I had their churros and it Did Not disappoint. It comes with two dipping sauces. Chocolate and a white sauce I'm not sure what it's called but it was my favorite. read more
