Well this is hard because most employees are professional unfortunately Gladys didn't get the memo. I called b4 11:30 on Taco Tuesday at full price including the 9.25% additional taxes. Ive been kind for 5 yrs. Yet this woman with black hair tells me all sour face, like she just bit into a lime. That "she doesn't count the change?" Ok then storms away into the back. back. I was lucky the other two employees saw her behavior and they appeared embarrassed for her. The usual taquero was on his lunch break. He got up and out of his way to get me my carrots w jalapeño. I usually get the other cashier thats much sweeter and professional but not Gladys. I wanted to love this taqueria but I didn't appreciate how she spoke to me or her treatment. If she is not feeling well please take the day off? I dunno I don't know her but as a paying patron im not deserving of her rotten behavior. With today's challenges my community is facing i desire to support my local merchants. Is she the owner? Who knows but the sour behavior is unacceptable. I feel truly sad to write this final experience and its ok I will cross the street to find my tacos. If you are the owner or front face of management I highly encourage you to educate her how hard it is to stay afloat. Especially with newer more attractive welcoming taquerias. I would drop my bar grade to a one star but I am not forgetting the other 2 employees that are trying. Unfortunately I will not return as mentioned fourth street has other taquerias. Today I had the pleasure trying out El Ranchito Taco Shop in beautiful Temecula California. Location: Located along Temecula Parkway and Butterfield Stage Road on the SW corner. Atmosphere/Ambiance: This little Taco Shop is beautiful decorated and very clean. At the time of my visit the place wasn't too crowded, and it was nice and quiet inside. Food: Since I was not very hungry, I ordered their soft taco's one with the Carne Asada and the other one with Chicken Asado. While I was waiting, I proceeded to their Salsa Bar and picked from a variety of different spice levels and sat down at of the empty tables. My food arrived quickly, and the tacos were nicely presented. I started with the Chicken taco and added some additional toppings to my liking. The chicken tasted moist it was very juicy, however it had somewhat of a strange flavor. The Carne Asada also was juicy and moist, but it too had a different flavor. Still don't get me wrong while I didn't care too for the taste overall, they were pretty good. Verdict: 3.5 Stars for reasonable priced food, great ambiance and friendly service. I'll be back! Food is great love this spot unfortunately Service is poor to the ground I went today to get a burrito and this cashier with red hair is not friendly at all does not greet you, ignores you and is really rude and unprofessional. I called her out on it and she ran to the back. She needs to be a better person. This is the worst menudo I have ever had. You can immediately tell they cut down on cook time because the honeycomb was SUPER rubbery. A slow cook time would have saved this dish. I gave this place a chance and never again. Dont waste your money. I also ordered extra meat and I could put money that it did not come from the same pot as the flavor and texture was completely different. Great location, good outdoor and indoor seating. Extensive menu beyond the typical taqueria items. The waitress told me their most popular item is ahogada (sandwich), so I gave it a try. It was pretty good. It was basically a wet beef sandwiches with a delicious sauce. Overall, it was a little salty and a bit spicy for my taste (I ordered mild) but I was glad I tried it. My wife got the Carne plate, the meat was also very good. The setting was simple and clean, there is Mexican music playing indoor. We have a puppy dog so we ate outdoors, it was pretty comfortable and we can immerse in the downtown Santa Ana vibe. Tip: the restroom was clean, it required a 25c coin, if you ask the counter, they'd give you a token. Parking: there is a paid parking lot next to the restaurant, it didn't charge us anything (Saturday evening about 6-7pm), I didn't have a chance to check the grace period. read more

The original location and the best! Opened up in the 70's and now has two others, including the newest ghost kitchen in Costa Mesa. There's plenty of seating here, with an outdoor patio area too. Everything is amazing starting with the micheladas served with spiced up cucumber. The aguas Frescas are also really, really good! So refreshing. The piña (pinapple) drink is my favorita! I always always have to order the Quesa Birria tacos. It's super juicy, super cheesy, and super delicious! I do also love the carne Asada, Al Pastor and carnitas tacos. All the meat here are so flavorful and perfecto! The owner Alfonso is so attentive and inviting too. The whole staff is. On my next visit I will have to try the Torta Ahogada. I just recently watched Finding Mexico with Eva Longoria and she raved about this dish. Definitely will order it next time! read more

Came here for dinner before seeing a movie next door at the Frida and I'm very very glad we did! The menu had good enough variety and I could all the ingredients were very fresh and high quality! The whole restaurant was nicely lit and decorated and it was very well kept. Everything I had was DELICIOUS with the exception of the chicken in my tacos being the tiniest bit too dry. But the drool worthy salsas more than made up for it! Our group of 5 got the chips deluxe to share and we could barely finish it so the portions are very generous. read more

What a great restaurant located in the cute Santa Ana area on 4th Street. The restaurant a corner location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It is clean and efficient. A great place for large families. The music and colors really put you in the mood for a full experience. The service is very friendly and everyone is always smiling and seems super happy to be there. The menu is the perfect size in my opinion and offers both classic dishes and dishes I haven't seen before. The food is made with fresh ingredients daily. You can even watch them searing chilis and boiling their four hour caldo to make the meat tender! The food is delicious! I love the authentic flavors! They also have a fresh bar where you can choose a sauce to spice up your dishes to the heat level you like. I worked and lived in Santa Ana for a few years. So my office associates and I used to walk over and meet up here. There were so many of us that the guy managing the place let us run tabs there. I only had to ask. This is really fresh and good Mexican cuisine. Everything I ate was . So good. I eat a lot of Mexican food so I know good meals. I usually got the huevos rancheros. I've been to 4th Street before, but I never noticed this place. Decided to stop by when I was in the area. Ordered the taco de papas, carne asada plate, campechana, and al pastor nachos. Everything was delicious. The plate was shareable between my husband and I. The nachos were super tasty. Loved the octopus in the campechana. Prefferred to eat it with chips though instead of the crackers they serve it with. They do sell beers and micheladas here. However, I opted for a mexican cola. Service was okay. Wasn't really greeted when I came in, or wasn't attended to when I needed to order. I kind of had to wave and flag somebody down, and did not get that girl's name. This spot is great if you're looking for fast, inexpensive food. Each taco I got was less than $2.50 so for all three tacos with tax, I paid a little over $7. That's an amazing price for a meal in SoCal, especially since I only needed maybe 2.5 tacos to fill up. My favorite taco was the lengua/beef tongue taco because the meat was very tender and juicy. My least favorite was the pastor because it was a bit dry. The tacos were very simple - just the meat, cilantro and onions. You could grab 2 salsas and limes from the toppings bar next to the cashier. Only downside of this spot is the bathroom costs 25 cents. It's not a lot but I don't always have quarters on me, so I wasn't able to go wash my hands, which would've been nice. read more

Sunday morning walking around beautiful downtown Santa Ana-we expected to have a few options for food after walking around for a few hours , except it was the California Labor Day heat wave and we lasted about 30 minutes before wanting food, drink and a/c. So many options...that opened on another 2 hours-- until we saw T G's yay! Order at the counter when you first walk in. Good selection of breakfast plates. I got ham and scrambled eggs with rice and beans and corn tortillas. Boyfriend got juevos rancheros. They have coffee, bottled beers and sodas. Our food was ready fast and it was delicious-the corn tortillas are wrapped in foil and are hot! Good place to take a break while exploring Santa Ana. All I could say is after yesterday I was completely disgusted and they lost my business forever! Stay away from this place! Yesterday I went to grab a bite to eat, and I sat there and I watched the cook putting orders together. She was wearing food safety gloves, which was good until I watched her lean down by the grill open a drawer and grab raw beef with their two hands and place it on the grill and yes, there was nothing wrong with that, but what came next was just beyond disgusting I waited for her to remove those gloves since she had touched raw meat so I watched her like a hawk to see if she would take those gloves and put on new gloves, but she never did and said she turned around to the counter and started assembling tacos and burritos with those same dirty gloves she had touched raw meat! at that point I was beyond appalled, and started worrying about who was gonna eat those tacos that she contaminated on top of the fact she had contaminated the spatula and now the counter space. But she just did an end with that a piece of meat from the tacos dropped onto the counter and she secretly as she thought nobody was watching grabbed it and put it in her mouth so now they just wasn't raw meat contamination on those gloves, but now contamination from her mouth. So I just wanted to come here and warn you do not visit this establishment because if I watch that, I'm sure it's not the first time that that's happened and I'm sure it won't be the last. read more

Came here while charging my Tesla in the nearby parking lot. This taco place is very trendy. I ordered horchata which was tasty. My favorite was birria taco. It came with "out of this world" consome and plenty of cilantro/ sweet onion. Carnitas taco was tasty as well, it was my second favorite. Al pastor taco had pineapple and grilled onion which was unexpected. Carne asada was a tad salty for my liking. Will definitely come again for more birria tacos. read more

Then I came back for another one to go for my parents, and they made another face . When I got home I gave my parents food to them and on a torts ahogada, a wire with like dirt came out.... This place is way overpriced. I got a tostada ceviche de camaron and it was 15.50 and it wasn't great. It was full of cilantro and the shrimp seems like it's been sitting there for a while cooking and lemon. They really need to bring down the prices. It's not that great at all. The cashier has no knowledge. She's answering questions. She is not sure of. their salsa is a mess. The atmosphere is dead they may be only had one customer and that's about it and those are people that come from other places and never been to downtown Santa Ana read more
