First time here. The location of this truck is in a sketchy and a bit dangerous area. When I visited, there were people who appear to abusing substances standing next to the truck. The food was pretty good as far as flavor and quality of meat goes. You could taste the bbq flavor on the meat which really added to each bite. The price was a bit on the higher end for the portion sizes you get. I would love to return, given that the area is safe because it's hard to find a decent taco truck. read more

I stopped by this taco truck this past weekend, and after trying quite a few taco spots, here are my thoughts on this one. First off, I really love that they use charcoal to cook their meat. That smoky flavor is something you just can't replicate with other cooking methods, and it definitely stands out. They also give a generous amount of sides and avocado with every taco, which I really appreciated. I ordered the tripe, chorizo, and carne asada tacos. The carne asada was good--nice flavor overall, though it could use just a touch more salt. Still very enjoyable and easy to overlook. I'd give the asada a 8/10. The tripe taco was where I struggled a bit. I usually like tripe with a bit of bite and crunch, but this one was way too crunchy. At one point I genuinely wondered if I was going to crack a tooth . It also needed more salt.If they cooked this a little less honestly this would be much higher on my rating. I'd rate the tripe a 5.5/10. The chorizo was well cooked and flavorful. Like many places now, the seasoning was lighter so you can adjust it yourself, which I don't mind at all. I'd give the chorizo a 7/10. Overall, this is a decent taco truck with some solid flavors and good portions. Worth checking out, especially if you appreciate charcoal-grilled meat. read more

To begin with, Santa Ana has so many taco spots and I for one am so happy to have so many taco spots to choose from. This taco truck is definitely up there for me! The Al pastor was so die for. Absolutely delicious. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of my tacos before they were devoured. I ordered Al pastor, asada, and cecina. I don't see a lot of places offer cecina so it was a pleasant surprise to see it on the menu. All of it was so good! I would have to say that if you do get some tacos from here that you HAVE to order an agua de melon. That made the experience so much better! 10/10!!! The only downside from this location is the parking situation. But that shouldn't deter you from trying this spot! read more

The street taco scene in Orange County has been one of the greatest things because there isn't a ton of good eats around here after 10pm. I read about Ah Carbon Tacos in an article of the "The Seven Best Tacos to Try In Santa Ana" by LA Taco and you know I had to give it a try. They are mostly open throughout the week, but check their IG for the latest updates, especially with all the rain lately, they have had to close unexpectedly. On my first visit, that's exactly what happened, but I didn't get discouraged and just went back the following week. They are known for their asada tacos which comes with a huge chunk of meat, onions, cilantro, salsa and a scoop of guac. Absolutely delicious and super addicting! Ah Carbon doesn't have the typical spread such as lengua, cabeza, etc. but they have a great assortment. I have tried their asada, tripa, cecina and al pastor, but the best hands down is the asada. Price wise they are on the more expensive end, but it's really worth it! These are more substantial than the normal tacos that are now $2/ea. There are so many items that I need to still try like the other meats and creations such as the vampiros, mulitas, quesadillas, etc. Will definitely be back! read more

Summary: Go go if you're into tacos!!! Always hunting for the elusive taco me and a close friend decided to try this place because of the long line. Located just off the 5 fwy and grand. In the same shopping complex as a smoke shop this place was amazing. Let's start of that the carna asada was grilled over real coal. This round I tried al pastor and carna asada tacos. Both had Amazing taste with each bite. Also with that grilled charcoal flavor just brought it over the top. Pair it with horchata just to be in bliss. Did I mention that you can see two ladies in the back making fresh tortilla by hand and with Mexican music playing in background just made it a great place to hand out. Bring your cash and hopefully you can find this elusive place. Just be aware there are two taco joints in the same shopping plaza. Look for the one further away from the freeway. read more

As a long-time fan, this place has become just mediocre since gaining popularity. It seems like the quality of their meats including their chicken has gone down. Stop be here to pick up some tacos for dinner. I ended up ordering 1 pastor Quesa Taco $3.5, 1 Asada Vampiro $4.5, 1 Pastor Quesadilla $12, total twenty dollars even. They were pretty good with generous portion of meat in there. When I paid I was a little bit shocked that a Quesadilla would cost $12. It was delicious and good portion. Enjoyed my tacos and quesaritto! Service was good, employees were nice and helpful. The grilled chicken is the best meat option in my opinion especially when it's fresh off the grill, after that in 2nd place would be the pastor and asada in 3rd. Ambiance is your typical food truck setup, I appreciate the music they play so it's a little vibe while you're waiting for or eating your food. Wish they had a little salsa bar with onions, cilantro and limes like the majority of taco stands and trucks but that's just me knit picking. We were really excited to try this food truck but I do have to say I expected them to be better. Don't get me wrong they are good specially the carne asada with guacamole. I ended up getting pastor and those were just ok, I'm not sure why but the flavor didn't taste like the typical pastor so for that reason I wasn't a fan. Their mulitas with carne asada are pretty good tho. The tacos are served well with plenty of meat. I had been craving some bomb authentic tacos estilo Tijuana, so my hunny brought me here saying he always passes by and see's a line of people. How grateful I am we checked this place out. First of all costumer service is awesome. The lady taking our order was so kind, patient and informative of what they offer! That is huge in my book! She gave us a taco de cecina on the house which was so cool of them and the tacos was insanely good. The cecina had this amazing taste with its being perfectly cooked The tacos de pastor had such a good marinade, the meat had this perfect char on the corners while being so tender and juicy. Now the star of the show, you guessed it, Tacos de asada! Oh my goodness when I tell you the amazing flavors and textures that exploded in my mouth, literally had me closing my eyes making me reminisce of my days in Tijuana eating heavens food The Carne Asada is charry and so tender and juicy all at once The flavor is over the moon and super fresh. Of course all the Tacos are accompanied by their delicious guacamole, salsa, cilantro and cebolla. They gave us carmelized onions, exyra salsas and limones on the side which was truly the cherry on the top. Have I mentioned their agua de jamaica (hibiscus drink) ? It's perfectly sweet and tangy at the same time but they add blueberries and raspberries in it! It was perfect! Handmade tortillas, excellent quality meat and real guacamole (not that blended watered down guacamole sauce), which makes for an excellent taco. They have some stools to sit down off the side and so it makes for a quick place to get in and out. Excellent taco truck. Maybe one day they will have a location with indoor seating. read more

If you're looking for Authentic Tijuana style tacos, this is your place. Asada and al pastor tacos are delicious! They have the Smokey mesquite wood taste and the flavors are amazing. My usual go to pop up was closed , I passed this taco truck on my way back and gave it a try. The tacos are okay, pretty average. However, it is overpriced @ $3.00 each, the tacos are pretty small with not that much of meat. If the tacos are $2.00 each, I think it's fair and worth it, but definitely not for 3 bucks. read more
