I just spent almost 50 dollars for two meals that consisted of mostly refried beans and cheese... I've been here in the past and the food was decent but today it was unbelievably bad. Super fries hardly had any fries. Mostly refried beans, cheese and overcooked carne asada. Barbecue burrito was almost completely refried beans with small pieces of colorless, flavorless chicken. Yesenia is the reason why I have eaten here four times in one month. I listened to her on Instagram as she spoke about and presented different dishes her restaurant has to offer. Today I came in, recognized the voice and met Yesenia today! She's very outgoing and in my opinion the spokeswoman of the restaurant! This is definitely one of my mom's favorite places so we try to come here often. My Nina was in town. They called me to go to lunch so we were there. Unfortunately nobody was really happy with their lunch. The soup lacked flavor I asked for chicken they gave me beef- my mom and I both had the taco and enchilada combo plate. HORRIBLE SERVICE! As soon as we walked in we were greeted quietly and in a bad mood, when we didn't hear he put the menus down and continued to talk to another customer. Middle aged curly fake blonde woman was a nightmare. Anything we would ask for we were treated like it was a hassle to serve us. Never gave us her name. I stumbled across this place on instagram where they showed off their "world famous" bbq burrito. I'm not sure why this is on the menu, but it is indeed a slap to the face to genuine authentic mexican food. The taste is not there, the presentation is not there. I did not try any other dishes but from the looks of it, the food seems decent. The establishment itself seems fine overall, but it seems to enjoy mocking authentic mexican food. Worse place in Salinas for Mex. food. The service is okay. Food comes out quickly.Reason for that is all the food is microwaved. I ordered a chimichanga to go after having lunch. The server took it upon himself to order the plate he didn't ask if I wanted a plate or A la cart. He knew I didn't not speak Spanish. When I bought it up after receiving my bill. He told the other server that I had ordered the plate. My cousin who does speak Spanish told him no she did not order the plate. He then said well since you two ordered a plate I assumed thats what you wanted. I didn't have a problem paying for it I do have a problem with LIARS.
