It is unfortunate the store is closed but I am glad they switched to catering. We wanted tacos for our company luncheon and El Guero 2 prices were reasonable and easy to work with. I did not hear any complaints about the food nor condiments. I thought everything was delicious, adequate food was given for 30 people. Carne asada, adobada and chicken were seasoned well and the green salsa had a nice char aftertaste with a bit of kick. Red salsa was too spicy for me. They also do live cooking but we didn't have enough people. All in all, highly recommended if you wanted to do a taco bar for a company event. Slim pickings down here in Otay Mesa. read more

Had my global entry interview scheduled and decided to get there early. Wanted to grab some breakfast. Wasn't in the mood for typical breakfast food, it was closer to brunch time. I ordered 2 birria tacos. They also have 3 types of homemade tamales. Javier, the owner and I were talking while his wife was preparing the food. This is a family owned and run business. The tacos were great, the small packet of sauce was nice and spicy. Hopefully I can convince my company to use him for an upcoming event. The tamales were made 4 days earlier and frozen. I got a chicken and green chili, a caseo, and 2 pineapple. The only issue I have was I didn't have him mark them, my friends mom ties up the sweet ones so you can easily distinguish them. Stopped by this place after a work engagement based upon the recommendation of Yelp. Located inside a strip mall next to a gas station, this place is located on the inside corner facing away from the parking lot, in case you're having trouble finding it. While not the greatest tasting tacos I've ever had, this place certainly is the most affordable! Get a Combo #1 for 3 fish tacos with a drink for only $5. Plus, if you check-in with your Yelp app, you get a free fish taco. That's basically 4 fish tacos and a drink for $5!!! Also, being right at the border, this place has the bottled coke from Mexico, and not from the US. Which is great because it is made with cane sugar, rather than high fructose corn syrup. read more

I said yes, so he wanted to show me some of their items and told me what was popular there. I was sold after seeing the mole, and it had been awhile, so I got a plate. I ordered the chicken mole. The plate comes with rice, beans, and choice of 3 tortillas (flour or corn). The plate came with a lot of chicken pieces and the mole had good flavor. I do wish it was more on the spicy side though, but it was still tasty. There was a lot of rice and beans, and the large plate was covered with food. The tortillas were warm and fresh and I left more than stuffed and couldn't finish it all. All in all, I was impressed with the food and overall experience.
