If you're looking for a home in the wall this is your spot. Food is always on point. Always hot and fresh. Male server isn't the most talkative but I'm just here for the food. Never a long wait. Only downside, no drinks on tap. Just single serve drinks.

BEST BIRRIA - truly the best birria tacos I have had in KC so far! Everything here from the salsas to the food have true authentic taste and some of the best you'll find. We even order their burritos for company breakfast events and they are done within minutes. Highly recommend dine in or take out! Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the dine in location can get a little smokey from the kitchen. But worth it for an absolute perfection of a meal! Also the agua de jamiaca is DELICIOUS and so refreshing.

Okay so I remembered when this place opened, I worked across the street at Unified Government . I use to come here all the time with my co worker we could eat , laugh and enjoy our time here . Now, not so much, the customer service is practically nonexistent ,there have been serval times where I would patronize here and the workers wouldn't even give me a thank you or a come back soon! They just take my order, take my money and seem very aloof. It's not clear to me if they even like or want my service . The space is fine. They do try to keep it tidy . But the food quality and service has definitely gone down hill. This spot use to be my favorite. I'm glad they are busy but I think they should truly work on thier customer service to all customers! I've been disappointed the last 3 times going here.

I love TACOS! This is a great lil Mexican restaurant in Strawberry Hill. We had the place largely to ourselves on a recent Wednesday night and were greeted with warm and friendly service. Lots of tacos and other dishes to choose from on the menu. I was in a taco-y mood so I tried several types. The asada, al pastor, and carnitas. All delicious but carnitas was definitely a fave.

A good friend was in town and wanted tacos, so I spent a bit of time checking Yelp and Google for tacos in KCK. There are tons of choices, but a friend had been to Tarahumaras, so we settled on it. I had the birria taco platter and my friend had a taco plate. Both were delicious. The red and green salsas were terrific and service was also wonderful. I'll definitely return!

If you are looking for a good and quick spot near strawberry hill then look no further. They have good tacos and from what I am told a 7.5/10 menudo(which is great!). Service is grad at the front and go or delivered to your table, very nice staff!

Not much to say here other than this was the best street tacos I've ever had in my life! Including in Mexico, Texas, Arizona and California. So good! Had chicken tacos today and have been here before and had Carne Asada and recall raving about it on Facebook sometime back. Cilantro was fresh, tortillas fresh and didn't dissolve in the flavorsome and moist chicken. Great little place in the heart of Strawberry hill. Hubby had hard tacos and a chicken enchilada and he loved his as well. Great portions, cost effective, authentic and service was very good. They checked on us a couple of times too to see if we needed anything else. Parking on the street and is safe. Quick 15 minute drive from downtown and another 5 from the northland. Highly recommend.

This place had some of the best tacos we had ever had! Staff was wonderful, and graciously explained the menu to my very white family. Great service, came out really fast. Interior was nice, I loved the geckos on the walls!

    4 Birria Tacos Consome

I love birria tacos and tarahumaras has really great ones. On Sundays they have a special: 4 birria tacos for $10.99. You do have to buy the consume separately but it's $1.99 so nothing crazy. Basically on Sunday you get the consume for free. So I decided to check them out. They did not disappoint. They were delicious and cheesy and just totally hit the spot. They do have lots of other items but I didn't try them so I look forward to returning to eat more. They do have pretty limited hours and are closed on Monday's so check the socials and online before heading there. The building is also pretty small with limited tables so I took it to go because it was hopping. Also, be prepared to wait because they are back there actually making the order, it's not Taco Bell. And be aware that you don't get complimentary chips and salsa. If that's a deal breaker, go to any other Tex mex place because this is real deal Mexican. If you're in the strawberry hill area definitely give this place a try.

Just thinking back on lunch yesterday is making my mouth water. My hubs got the 4 Birria tacos with consume, total banger outta the park. I got the pick 3 plate and wanted one of each tamale but unforch they didn't have tamales on our visit which turned out fine because my enchilada and flauta were fire. The real star of the show for me though was the albondegas soup. I could drown in it. Somehow, even though you could tell the flavors had been cooking together for hours, the veggies were not mush...they were cooked perfectly. And the portion was GIGANTIC. Being a self proclaimed soup sloot (this is a family friendly app, lol) I was living my best life, I cannot wait to go back when it's a little cooler and try the Fideo...I gotta work myself up to menudo since I wasn't raised on tripe. We will definitely be returning!!!

Everything was delicious!! Service was fast and friendly. Very cozy! We will definitely be back soon.

The aftermath of the traditional breakfast plate. I filled 4 corn tortillas and still had this leftover.

Living in South…read moreFlorida influenced me to learn much more about Latin foods which are much more diverse than Mexican. I've had a very hard time finding much Latin diversity here so far but for Mexican this is quite good. I've mostly gotten combo platters because I like the variety. I believe every combo platter should come with rice and beans. I can tell how authentic a place is by the beans and salsa quite often. So far I've liked the combo platters and the taco salad that I tried. Again, if I remember correctly, I had to pay extra to get beans on my taco salad. That would be one complaint I have. Beans should be a staple and come with everything unless the person doesn't want them. The service has been good. No complaints and it's been busy when we've eaten there usually during lunch hours. The decor and ambiance is pretty typical Mexican. Nothing fancy. The one thing I will note is I didn't see any Mexicans working there. Maybe someone in the kitchen I can't see so that's usually not a great sign. I know they've been around a long time. I'd probably go a smidge lower to 3.5 if I could just because I'm rather picky about Mexican and Latin food but I don't think it's fair to go down to 3 so I'm rounding up. The prices seem a bit high but everything is so expensive in 2026! They are probably pretty average for eating out and I'm sure it's costing them more just like all the rest of us have seen food prices sky rocket over the past year. I would certainly recommend them for a lunch bite and a nice Mexican American experience.

I didn't even get to enjoy one of their margaritas (the only item really worth ordering), as I had to go to work following dinner. My vegetarian combo (burrito and chile relleno with beans and rice) were as plain as I-70 in western Kansas. I think the food was even more uninspired than my last visit. It took forever to order, forever to get our food, and then some items came out late or required prompting to procure. I just don't understand why people love this place. I think they just get drunk on the margs and *think* the food is good. Do not come here if you enjoy anything but bland food.

Well they serve theirs with three different sauces. And this is a particularly good one for a pescatarian because seafood isn't an afterthought.
