EXCELLENT vegan soft serve and waffle cones. I've had several flavors--today was orange creamsicle, and despite not sounding like a flavor I'd be into, it was soooo good. HOWEVER, I really wish they wouldn't let people bring their dogs into the store. I found a dog hair in my ice cream from one of the two dogs that went in right before I entered. I also watched a woman let her dog pee ALL OVER the floor near the entrance... and that was what I saw in just a few minutes of being there. It was disgusting!! When I left there was a puddle of dog pee inside. The owner clearly knew her dog did it but she pretended she didn't notice and left it there. I get that everyone wants to be *dog friendly* now but come ON! I didn't complain about the dog fur in my ice cream because it wasn't the fault of the employees, but my god... I beg the owner of Curbside Creamery to reconsider allowing people to bring their dogs inside. I've been here 3 times this past week! I am super picky with ice cream and it's hard for me to actually be impressed with an ice cream shop. As soon and I saw the flavor almond cherry I knew I had to try it.. I love anything almond and I was very much impressed and obsessed. Next time I'm getting a pint to enjoy at home when I can't make it to the shop. I also tried the oatmeal cookie cinnamon and coffee, all were amazing but nothing tops almond cherry By the way the other reviews are right...service here isn't great. Review is mainly about service vs the ice cream itself. But I gave it an extra star as I thought the ice cream was good considering it is vegan. Came in on a Sunday night with a big group. The employee would forget which flavors we wanted and rudely asked for all of us (who already got our ice cream) to leave the space as it was getting too crowded. Fair ask, yes. The way it was delivered? Just rudely said with a bad tone too. I also got charged for my ice cream when one of my friends had already paid for mine in front of me. I went to have it reversed, and he was saying how my friend paid for 6 singles and I got a junior size then there was nothing to be reversed. If anything we paid twice and for the wrong size. Fabulous Thai tea ice cream that's not too sweet and the TT flavor is apparent. My mom got a chocolate soft serve, which she liked. Service is friendly. We brought our dog and they were fine with us bringing her in while we ordered. Though we ate our ice cream while waking the dog, Curbside does have some tables. SOOOO GOOD!!! Stopped by because my boyfriend knew they had vegan ice cream, and I am so glad we did!! I tried a sample of their Mexican chocolate ice cream (dairy) which was so tasty and I would've totally gotten it if not in a dairy-free mood. I ended up getting their peanut butter fudge (vegan) ice cream in a waffle cone topped with chocolate sprinkles. My boyfriend got the cookies and cream (vegan) with rainbow sprinkles. Delicious! My bestfriend been trying to get me to come to this place for so long, and I finally said yes LOL. It was around 9 pm so the line wasn't too bad. Parking is street parking. There were tables in front of the entrance for people to sit, chat, and enjoy their ice cream! I am incredibly grateful for all the vegan options, as I am (sooooo) lactose intolerant. You were able to sample flavors, but I went with my gut and chose lemon cream (v). It was so yummy! I love a heavy lemon flavor and it was just that. 10/10 My bestfriend got a bourbon whiskey vanilla (I didn't try it bc no dairy for me lol!) she ranked it a 10/10. We were in Oakland, wanting to try out a new ice cream spot. This one came up on Yelp, and it was fun to try. I got the Roasted Banana Walnut, which was so good!!! They also have several vegan/non-dairy options for others too. Most of their non-dairy are actually cashew based, which is interesting to try. They also have soft serve here too, which I really wanted to try, but you can only eat so much ice cream in one sitting!! Overall, great ice cream place, no line either on the weekend. Prices aren't awful for ice cream in Oakland but you'd get more bang for you buck uhhh... anywhere else. A single scoop is more like a single spoonful. 3. The range of flavors is actually great. We were pleased with this place and its offerings, especially the vegan, non-dairy options! I would say the flavors taste very strongly of their bases, coconut, cashew, etc. We chose a salted caramel soft serve with a cashew base and it was delicious. I think the cashew provides a bit of a grimier texture. This was definitely more salty/savory than sweet. I think those expecting in soft serve may find that the texture is soft serve but with a little something extra. Staff is hilarious. :) Love a place with some personality! Also the ice cream was amazing! The Thai tea flavor was very rich and almost buttery, maybe even brown butter? Whatever they put in there it's honestly a mind blowing Thai tea ice cream! Mexican chocolate was great, and was actually complex and didn't just taste like cinnamon like some other places do. This was our final stop in our adventure day! We weren't sure what the flavor of the day was but we were happy to see that it was matcha. The dairy soft serve was matcha and the vegan soft serve was vanilla bean. We both chose to get the swirl and that did not disappoint. I ordered it on their homemade waffle cone and that was TASTE TAY! The cone had the right about of sweetness and crunch. Was in town visiting my sister for the day and she took me to all of her favorite vegan spots. We couldn't end our night without a sweet treat, so ice cream was a must. Curbside creamery is literally curbside, hence the name and just a small shop with roll up doors. There is no seating inside but this is not meant to be a sit down type of place. There is seating located just outside and the vibes here were so much fun. There was music playing, people dancing, and larger groups of friends laughing and enjoying each other's company over some ice cream. There were several options to choose from such as soft serve, ice cream sandwiches, vegan and non vegan ice cream and even pie. The flavors ranged from classic chocolate to unique roasted banana walnut. Staff were very friendly and helpful in trying a few flavors before making your decision. I went with the cherry almond (non vegan) on a waffle cone which was such a hit. My sister got the cookies and cream (vegan) which was good but had a chalky texture to it. read more

From classics like strawberry and chocolate, to a rotating list of great coconut and cashew-based ice creams. If you find a flavor you like, you can bring home a separate pre-packaged pint. One of the only places open past a certain hour - it was fairly early still but most stores on this alley seemed closed. It was easy to drop in as their doors were wide open and inviting. We popped in here on a Saturday night around 8pm and had a delicious experience! There was a line, but we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes. I loved my bourbon vanilla ice cream, my husband really enjoyed his coffee ice cream, and my 7 year old liked her salted caramel ice cream. We appreciated the fact we were able to try samples before ordering. It was also helpful to have a junior scoop option, along with multiple cone choices (chocolate waffle cone, waffle cone, sugar cone, cake cone)! Definitely worth a visit. read more

such a cute store literally on the curbside in a garage-looking space. i went ~8:30pm on a thursday and the line was still out the door (it moved pretty quickly though!). they allow you to try the flavors which are ever changing. i went for the pistachio ice cream w the chocolate soft serve and it was so good. love the bits of actual pistachio nuts and sweetness paired with the creaminess of the dark chocolate!! they also have free cake/sugar cones you can add as well~ theres a lot of seating outside the shop, so we enjoyed sitting and watching the crowds go by,, i already know this is going to be one of my top ice cream shops :) (p.s. they also have a buncha vegan ice cream flavors + pies!) read more

When the weather is nice it's fun to come to the alley way with a friend for some icecream. My favorites flavors are the cookies and cream, peanut butter fudge, and Thai iced tea - they let you sample of course. They have different selections for cones. Service is quick and friendly usually, although we've had one sour experience towards our group, and be prepared to stand in a line since it's well loved! No indoor seating area, just outside surrounded by sweet stores to explore. read more

It is so delicious and creamy and rich with almond flavor with cherry tartness to even it out. Waffle cone was crisp and fresh. The ice cream server was so nice and let me try some of the flavors before ordering in which I found a new favorite flavor.. coconut! which is vegan. It is great to see they have so many vegan options! Soft serve is great as well. I love the Thai tea Flavor. It is a small shop with only outdoor seating and there is usually a line out the door so be prepared for that. There was a miscommunication between the workers because I was served sweet corn and Thai tea, but I didn't care enough to correct them since I also enjoy Thai tea. Both icecream scoops had very pronounced flavor, but some bites were quite icy, hence the 3 stars. I'm very disappointed with my recent experience at Curbside Creamery.During our last visit, the ice cream had been switched from regular milk to a vegan alternative that contained nuts -- and this was not clearly communicated to us. As a result, my cousin she is 2 years old had a severe allergic reaction and we had to go to the ER. This was a very scary and dangerous situation that could have been prevented with proper labeling and staff awareness. Food allergies are serious, and customers rely on businesses to be transparent about ingredients -- especially when there are changes. I really hope they take this seriously and improve their communication and allergen practices so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Sometimes vegan scoops lack the creamy element but these were both good. Thai Tea was 9/10, Coffee 7/10. We came here tonight after some Korean food across the street. I've always come here and loved supporting the business. And I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, tonight warrants zero starts if possible. Came here with the hubby and toddler and ordered two small cones. It was raining and as we started eating the cones, the employee tells us we have to leave. Note: It is raining. Note: we have a child with us. Note: there is literally no one else ordering in the store. Then when asking for clarification, worker sitting on the stool scrolling on phone after we gave him a tip points to a scrappy looking handwritten sign that says, "No eating inside." Totally get that but when it's raining and we have a kid with two small cones and literally no one else is walking into the store, maybe show some common courtesy and say, "Hey folks-our policy is no eating inside as it can get crowded but if you finish fast as it is raining outside, no worries. We want to ask for you to step out if it gets too crowded." Oh, by the way, we had to finish our cones under the shade of Mountain Mike Pizza across the street. Even though they had such an extensive dairy free selection, they were also very accommodating due to one of us having cashew allergy - used a new scooper and was very mindful of scooping the ice cream. I personally enjoyed the dairy free (cashew milk) soft serve. Pistachio with dark chocolate swirl were amazing. Every out of town guest that I brought here over the past 9 years has asked me take them back here, no matter how long ago they visited me. Very few have that and top shelf taste and consistency. I just had a serve twist of Salted Caramel (Vegan) and Dark Chocolate (dairy) with rainbow sprinkles in a waffle cone. It was crazy delicious, and I rarely give that kind of review to ice creameries, especially of a soft serve. They have both dairy and vegan versions- sometimes even of the same flavor! Their ice cream sandwiches are so good, that my daughter cuts them in half so she can slowly savor them over two days. Why?! They are made from cookies that are brilliant on their own - ginger snaps or vanilla shortbread. My favorite is Earl Grey ice cream sandwiches with English shortbread.
