I come here pretty regularly and overall it's a great store! It's clean, well organized, and easy to find what you need. Even when it's busy, the self checkout lines move pretty quickly. It's not as well stocked as some other Targets, but it's a really convenient spot for everyday things. That said, some of the staff can have real attitude. Recently I had a few in-store non-stackable coupons, so I split my items into separate purchases. I used one coupon, paid, and then started scanning my next items for a new transaction. The woman at self checkout who needed to scan the coupon told me, "you can't split up your transaction," and refused to scan the second coupon. I asked her why not since I had already paid and was starting a new purchase, and she just huffed and walked away without helping. I still shop here because overall it's a great store, but interactions like that are frustrating and unnecessary. read more

Is this the only target that doesn't have a changing table in the bathroom? went to run a couple errands with my son and before we got started I wanted to change his diaper really quickly so he wouldn't be fussing and I noticed there was literally nowhere for me to change his diaper. I checked in every stall even outside the stalls and there was nothing... I even tried looking for a family bathroom and nowhere to be found. I asked the staff about it. I had such a terrific experience at this Target tonight. I had researched a particular tick repellent. Sheda, an incredibly kind and helpful employee, checked the data base, discovered there was only ONE little package left ... and we went on a hunt. She stayed with me until we found that one little package, which a customer had left turned upside down on a shelf. Sheda was exceptional. I was so grateful. Target did a remodel of many of their stores in recent years and this was one of them; the place is spiffed up. They have the Ulta makeup partnership here in this store.They also apparently let you do drive up for groceries? That surprised me because the store I usually go to doesn't seem to. When I entered there was an area they made to the right for pickup orders and in that section was some upright coolers with the cold items in them. That was cool and good to know if I need that at some point. Staff were friendly. They took my Similac coupon even though one of the employees thought they weren't taking coupons. read more

Interview process is degrading! HR representative in store can't tell the truth from a lie. First they post saying there is a position available. I get an initial rejection email. The HR person says they want to reopen it because there are other positions available. So they have me do a completely degrading video interview where I answer questions into a web cam with zero human interaction. Then they say they're on a hiring freeze because they want to hire seasonal. That's just lazy and incompetent. Then when they're doing the seasonal hiring, the HR rep claims my application was already rejected. If you have issues visiting this store, I can GUARANTEE YOU it's because the employees there are being treated like trash by an HR rep who believes she's inherently better than them. read more

I had a great visit to this, my usual, Target store. I had never considered using the pharmacy at Target as my go-to but after picking up prescriptions for my neighbor there, I have switched to this location. The pharmacists are lovely - professional, friendly, fast efficient and smart. They remembered me when I walked in. They kept the line moving but gave everyone their due. Also, I had an issue with an item I thought was on sale but turned out not to be. One of the managers, Lisa, was absolutely amazing about helping me. She was empathetic and explained the signage isn't always accurate. She apologized and offered a concession which was perfect. Major kudos to Lisa and a big shout out to the associate watching the self check out, Yvette who saw I had an issue and instantly found the right manager to help me. These retail jobs are not easy and I am always appreciative of specialists who go the extra mile to help a random customer with a simple but frustrating problem. read more

Yesterday I used self checkout for some household essentials and I forgot one of my items at the register I came back today and they very generously believed me and let me take a pack of paper towels. I never EVER expected to be complimenting the Evanston location with a 5-star review and giving the Peterson location a 1-star review, but here we are. I used to frequent this location quite a bit when I lived in Evanston. But there were a couple of employees and a supervisor who treated me like I had a "Most Wanted" sign framed at the door. Those two made me dip and never come back for a few years. Peterson had always been a great place to go but too far from my prior home. I'm closer to the latter location now, but it's like all the Evanston employees went to Peterson and the Peterson ones went to Evanston. In the couple of times I've peered my head into Evanston again, it's been polite, professional, quick and easy. Peterson gave me such a hard time about my dog that I gave up on shopping there altogether. I got a gift card to Target and tried this location again. They were WAY more accommodating to me having my dog with me, both related to counter pickup and drive-up. I even tried one of Peterson's (awful) ideas about an alternate way to do drive-up, and it just created unnecessary confusion at this location. Even the two employees I talked to didn't understand Peterson's suggestion (from a supervisor and a busybody drive-up worker). So until further notice, I'm back to liking the Evanston location. Good grief, I hope they don't let me down because Target is SUCH A GREAT PLACE to shop if you're a vegetarian. I can get all the veggie stuff I need and other groceries too, so I keep trying to make it work. And I want to make the most of my Shipt membership when I don't feel like walking, so I keep trying to make this store chain work. Hopefully Evanston won't be awful again. Fingers crossed. read more

Pretty nice Target with a wide selection and nice staff. I don't know why but I feel like this one is easier to get to and easier to shop at than the Niles one, and it for sure has a larger selection than the express targets by Loyola and the Skokie Swift. Going later at night is usually best from what I've seen, and I've hardly ever had to wait in a long line checking out when going after dark. It's really just been nice going to a target and seeing it has everything we need and we don't have to make two stops, and this being a huge Target it comes in handy. read more

This location is so poorly kept. The entry area and tables area (by the Starbucks) is always so dirty and full of trash. I hate coming to this location for this very reason. Feels like I'm walking into a dump. The kids and baby clothing section always looks like a tornado came through it. Clothes on the floor and clothing racks so disorganized. Also, there are always large carts and ladders parked for restocking that are just left in the way. Nobody attending to them. I recall many times not being able to get an item I need because there's a giant heavy restocking cart in the way that I can't move. I blame the staff and management at this location. I try to avoid coming here but if I'm in a hurry I force myself because it's the nearest location to where I live. Such a bummer. read more

I haven't been in the store since the pandemic started, but I've been using their driveup pickup for pantry staples (and the frequent impulse clothing/shoe/home accessory purchase). The pickup process is super easy and all the employees who have brought out my orders have been courteous and great. Sometimes there's a wait, but that's completely understandable given the situation + holidays. As long as you're patient (and be careful in the parking lot -- lots of bad drivers seem to be out who aren't paying attention), it's smooth sailing and it's a safe way to get what you need. read more

This might have been a major blip or a couple of blips, but lately I have noticed that customer service during the day is seriously lacking, to the point of downright rudeness by the staff. Today I was in the store and they had 10 customers (myself included) standing in a long line with only one cashier. An older lady (I mean an elder) asked a team member if he could radio someone to open a register. This team member, who was not wearing a name badge, told her "well you all will just have to wait, we're doing other things right now". That made me absolutely angry. How DARE you talk to an a customer, an elder, like that? When I interjected he got on his radio and asked for assistance, but it should never come to that. Speaking to a "front end manager", who was also not wearing a name badge, got nowhere. He didn't care about what I had to say. Calling corporate didn't yield any results either. Guess I'll be going back to the Target on Peterson and just remembering to take my bag with me to avoid paying the 7 cent fee, but I will not give any money to a store that hires people that talk to elders like what I witnessed. read more

Meh. I've experienced better, copied that because it couldn't be more fitting. If you can go to another Target, really that would be the best advice I can give you. If you're stuck going here, well I'm sorry. The place is a mess, hard to find anything, and when you do find some of what you want it's a jumbled mess. I did find a shirt on the clearance rack, although it was a size larger than I needed for five bucks, I'll deal. I tried to go through the rest of the rack but it had regular priced stuff mixed in. Nothing like the big let down to think you scored and then realized you didn't. Everyone wants a bargain don't they? Lucky for me, this Target isn't normally on my radar, this was my first time there, and most likely my last. Of course if I happen to be driving right past it and need something right away. They were not enforcing or following the current Evanston law that states that patrons and employees at essential businesses must wear face coverings/masks. Multiple employees were not wearing masks, which made me further question how clean this target is. In addition, they were not asking customers to wear face masks either. To make matters worse, their software was not working so they had significant trouble finding my online order for pick up. read more

This Target store is located close to my work, so I stop in here pretty often. The store is organized, inventory stocked well, and the employees are helpful as usual. I shop here somewhat often out of necessity but I write now to warn people not to buy electronics here, especially Apple products. I bought Apple AirPods here a few months back as a gift, not knowing the intended recipient doesn't like to have things in their ears, which I found out in time to get them something else. Soon after, I took the AirPods back to this same Target, with my receipt, with even the same blond middle aged male employee at the electronics dept counter, and tried to return them. He tells me that I have to return them to an Apple store. In what planet does Target tell you that you have to return to the manufacturer, especially with a receipt fairly soon after purchase. That felt really shady to me. I would never purchase any electronics and especially any Apple products from Target (or at least this Target if what he said was false). Warning to all! read more

I came here on a Wednesday night and thought the area was a bit eerie. Usually Targets are quite bustling but this one was dead. It just feels weird to be here. I was browsing their clearance rack of clothing but it was a bit of a mess. A lot of the hangers didn't have the tag sizes so I thought it was annoying to browse. Their back to school (seasonal) section was fun to browse though. There is a self-check out here in the front that was relatively painless to use. You get $0.05 back if you bring a bag. read more

I've received great customer services no matter the departments- guest services, pharmacy, beauty consultants, and other staff on site. This Target continues to win me over with their excellent customer service, cleanliness and product availability. On my last trip I thought I was just going to run in and get some storage bins which were on sale but ended up checking out the kitchen isle and added additional items. I was walking through the store with several large storage bins and another customer offered their cart for me. I ended up buying brand new cookie sheets, pizza stone and a foam roller for my back plus some other odds and ends. Great sales throughout the store. Both the self check out line and the the regular line move very quickly. I always worry about the self-check line that I will have trouble with coupons and gift cards but there is always help and assistance. They also have large bottles of hand sanitizer at the register available to use after the store visit. Each cart is cleaned and sanitized after it is returned. Parking here is also nice I see that a lot of people do curb side pickup and Target has the front aisles marked for those cars but there is still plenty of parking for everyone else. read more

I am just done with this Target! Today, I ran in to pick up a few things on a snowy day. Pop, they had in stock. Baby wipes, they only had the Fresh Scent variety in a 3-pack bundle for nearly 3 times the cost of the single pack I wanted. Pizza flavored Cheez-Its, nope. And Fixodent for my mom, either the regular or zinc free. Nope in a big way! No Fixodent at all in any size or variety. From now on, either I go to the Target way the heck out in Niles or to Walmart. Yesterday I realized that this is the first Target that I ever saw, way back in my college days as a yokel who had known only Jamesway and Kmart in my hometown (not even Walmart yet). I also realized that it had been years since I'd been in here. And I realized that this is the dingiest Target that I can ever remember seeing. I realized all of these things within only a moment, much faster than it took me to write about it. But as rapidly as they occurred to me, I had a lot of time to ponder these ideas as I scoured the store for foaming hand soap refills. I found an aisle in the cleaning supplies section with dish soap refills, gel hand soap refills, and foaming hand soap dispensers, but no foaming hand soap refills. Picture me with a big stymied, demoralized frown. In desperation, I poked around the "health and beauty" section several aisles away, near the pharmacy, and lo and behold, there was the selection of foaming hand soap refills, along with more hand soap dispensers, some of which were ALSO offered in the other aisle and some of which were only located in this aisle. Who is responsible for this insanity?? Put all the goddamn hand soap in the same place, you ass clowns! Most customers would give up after not finding the FOAMING hand soap next to the GEL hand soap, as I almost did. "Clearly this is the place where they keep the hand soap refills; but I guess that they don't carry foaming soap anymore. I'll have to switch brands, I guess." The staff inside do a great job, but I wouldn't recommend the curbside pickup. I had to return to the store 4 times in the last 3 months due to missing items in my in app order. I bought a few items that were the last in the store, but they gave them to another customer by accident instead. Their solution was basically to refund my money and send me to another store to get the items myself. Their attitude was like "whatever". People are in a hurry these days and most don't bother to sort through their bags in the cold air before leaving the store. I'd like to give them a higher rating but their failure at curbside pickup stands out!! read more

This is by far the worst Target in the area. The employees lack professionalism- they don't know how to speak to customers, they're rude, and they don't want to be "inconvenienced." Working in customer service for over 10 years and having previously been an employee of Target, I know this is not how a store should be ran. I need to give a big huge shout out to one of the mangers here, Craig. Every year, we throw a holiday party for our employees. I need to buy gift cards for every employee -about 170. This is normally a huge pain in the butt. However, I called and spoke to Craig. He got everything ready for me and then I picked it up a day later. This was fantastic! It only took a few minutes for the cashier to ring up these multi-card packs, activate them and I was on my way! This made the process super convenient. I will likely return to this same Target and do the same next year. I do frequent this location anyway every week for my groceries. I have never had an issue here. I always find what I need and, if you go early, there is never a line. Thanks, Target! Our employees were super happy at the party! read more

Target is an awesome one-stop shopping place for almost everything I need at home. If I ever need to restock on anything from toiletries, to party supplies, to baby gear, to little debbie snack or pot pies, oh and cleaning stuff, this place is perfect. 5 stars minus 1. I went to this target because it's close to where I live. I specifically went there to get Danielle Steels new book. This Target never has the books out on release date so I asked the salesperson to look in the back. Instead she looks on her iPod touch and says they don't have any. I said well if the merchandise is not scanned in it's going to say you have zero. She couldn't quite under the concept. Not necessarily her fault just poorly trained associates. Then I go to check out and one of the bottles opens so I tell another sled person I don't want to take it. Good customer service would have called another associate to get another bottle. So this tTarget has an additional self check out near the Starbucks. Many times in the past we've been able to use that check out and have even been directed to use that check out when the other self checkouts are full. This time the customer in front of me wasn't moving because she was on her phone and I was in a little bit of a hurry so I decided to go to that checkout and the Target employee told me I must get back in line. When I explained no one is at that checkout counter and the next person in line isn't moving, he answered but there is a line. So I said ok, then you can direct the next customer to go to that checkout counter. And he said no because that counter is for us the employees. I asked when did this change? It is clearly marked as a self check out and many times we have used it and have even been directed to use it by other employees. He answered that yes they do that when there are more than 10 customers in line but that it is a check out for the employees. I answered "that is not true because I have been able to use it even and been directed to use it when there are less than 10 customers in line" and again he says "it is a self check out only for employees". If true then why is it next to an assortment of snacks and drinks that customers can buy if not from that checkout counter? It made no sense and he just thought it better to continue arguing with me. I guess the days of customer satisfaction are gone. Honestly, if they let customers use it once in a while, what was the harm in letting me use it now? And, as I told him, if it is only for employees, then why is it not marked as so and why does it have a clearly visible, lit up sign that says "self checkout". read more

They accused me of steal and my dad brought my items and paid at-least 400 dollars and we went back to find something then he left and texted me to leave and I was stopped in the front of a lady saying the register is right there and then I said I paid for my items and too remind you my father had the receipt and then she claimed she had video footage of me "stealing" which I know I did not done and she made me leave 2 of my 3 bags there and now my father have to try to get his money back on which he paid and now I'm scared to go to that target incase someone try to say I was stealing again with false accusations. read more

I had issues with this Target on Howard in Evanston in the past (idk could it be management style?) that I refused for years and years to patronize this particular store which is 5 minutes from home and preferred the further Niles store. I have the Target App and needed a few things, so I made a list on the app but found the main item I wanted was out-of-stock at Niles but available at Evanston. Ok, I'll give them another try but then when I was there, I noticed something - the prices!!! Yowzaa, Evanston prices are so much higher than the Niles store. I decided "nope", I'll just purchased that one item at Evanston then head back up to Niles to finish the rest of my Target shopping. Just for reference on two of the items I was comparing... OxiClean Laundry Stain Remover Spray Refill 56 fl. oz was $7.39 Evanston compared to $5.99 Niles; Just for Men Control GV Gray Reducing Beard Wash 4 fl. oz. $11.49 Evanston compared to $10.49 Niles. If you want to save some dollars, you'd be better off at Niles or even the Golf Mill store (they're not that much further). read more
