I've used Target's curbside pickup several times, and while the convenience of ordering online is great for those short on time, the execution could use improvement. Unfortunately, waiting 15-20 minutes in the pickup area is not an efficient use of time, especially when the whole point is convenience. On my last visit, I noticed a few issues after getting home: one item was missing, and two items weren't the flavors I had ordered. These small details matter, and the substitutions just didn't work for me. This has happened multiple times, and it's frustrating not getting exactly what I requested. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I think I'll start doing my own shopping moving forward. I used the delivery service owned by Target called Shipt. They give you a time frame for delivery. Only thing is that they don't deliver during the time frame you choose. During the time period, you receive a notice that your delivery is delayed and sorry for the inconvenience. Calling the store does nothing they say call Shipt, but when I told her to stop talking over me that they own Shipt, customer service hung up on me. I canceled my service agreement and will not be using them anymore. read more

HORRIBLE STARBUCKS STAFF Went to the starbucks there and the ugly bitch with the brown curly hair was so incredibly rude to me and my friend. We went in there nicely simply asking for a drink and she made it incorrectly and had the audacity to make my friend feel stupid when all she asked was for the drink to be made correctly since she already paid for it. She had the worst attitude. If you want your drink to be made correctly don't go to this starbucks and definitely make sure she doesn't make your order. she had brown curly hair, brown eyes, Disgusting look on her face. Popped in for one thing and it took me forever to figure out where it was. :D But that was just me not knowing where to look. This store is huge. It includes a grocery area, pharmacy and a Starbucks coffee shop right inside the door. Some departments were very well stocked while others were almost bare. Not sure if they are switching over the shelves to more seasonal items / colors or if they are just out of stock. We are in a post-Covid world, so maybe they are still waiting for items from the warehouse. I did not see a lot of staff on the floor, a few registers were open including self check-out. Customer service is just inside the door, along with restrooms and they have a 'greeter'. The store appeared clean and the departments well organized. All in all it was a good visit. read more

Here's a little update. It's been 5 years since my last one. It looks like there has been a management change of sorts, cause the one person who was an issue seems to no longer be there. Staffing is still a real problem, and with it being the holidays, it's gonna get bad. Do you really need 2 guys watching the exits during a slow period? Why are there employees standing around, when it's obviously getting busier, and you have no shopping carts around? I saw at least 8 people yesterday, including myself, going back outside to grab carts from the return stations. Why?!? Their app needs to sync with what's really available in their stores. If the app says you have 5 items left of a product, I expect to see 5. Or at least someone telling me they're up front waiting to be put back. Something!?! I have yet to see more than 2 or 3 cashiers working during a peak period. There should never be a line all the way to the frozen section at any time! Other than that, it looks like they've gotten better at cleaning the store, and restocking. They also have a few friendlier and helpful (knowledgable) staff. read more

Our daughter's wardrobe is half Target. Occasional designer collaborations in the women's department? Fun! A wonderland of toy aisles, especially Legos, makes Target the new Toys R Us. The easy on the eyes Magnolia collection is adorable and here. This location has plenty of parking, some nice and shaded on hot days, and the pickup wait isn't too long. You can still get your things bagged without reluctance, but they also have a few self-checkouts available. And yes, this Target has a Starbucks. read more

This is the worst Target I have ever visited. The manager at this location should be FIRED. The Employees are mainly kids, supervised by incompetent and rude "Team Leaders" (especially in the Electronics department). Some employees are hard working, while others are slackers who do nothing but gossip and take up space (again, especially the electronics department where they are totally incompetent and unhelpful). I know it's cliché but honestly if I could leave 0 stars, I would. This place is a total mess and it's all over social media. One single register open and a line wrapped around the store. Stocking boxes blocking the entrance making it almost impossible to even enter this mess of a "store". Now, you may give them a pass because they are clearly short staffed however I cannot blame anyone for not wanting to work there (I even know several people who have applied and withdrew their application) because the management staff is horrible and beyond rude. I have tried to speak on the phone with management and it takes 30 minutes to even get to a person. No one answers the phone and you have to click into any department to even get a chance at speaking to someone. This is ridiculous. I am now boycotting all Targets. read more

Well I used to like this Target. Until today. I bought 31 bags of Easter M&M's and was supposed to get 25% off each bag through the cartwheel app. And 10% off Cadbury eggs too. I go through checkout, have the girl scan my app, get the the door and think hunh, still over $200 for what all I bought? Hmmm. I got home and it turns out I only got discounts on a few things. Call up the store to find out if I have to bring everything back in with my receipt or just the receipt. I was on hold almost 7 minutes and transferred 5x until I finally got another person at the front desk who told me to bring in my receipt. Really. Seriously. Unreal. Update: so I drive all the way back to target today. The employee at the service desk goes oh no, you only get cartwheel money for 4 purchases of the same item. Ok. Why wasn't that told to me yesterday instead of telling me oh yes, I should have received more money off? They didn't take the Cadbury eggs off either, so I literally drove 20 minutes 1 way there and 1 ways back today for $1. Hey Target, I would like to speak to someone. And you will be hearing about my experience. And I will be seeing if I can return all this candy tomorrow now. Because hey, it's unopened, and if they want to treat me that way, then why should I keep anything. Your Connecticut locations are seriously lacking, and appalling. Very disappointed today! Multiple family members shopping together. Very few employees making people distancing especially the self check out lines. No staff wiping touch screens .... still many without masks or gloves, shopping for non-essentials like clothing. 2 women and a baby, laughing and having a good time. Selfish for those of us, like me comprised, and shopping for cleaning items and hand wipes! Won't be back anytime soon... Terrible Target. Went in for an online pickup that I'd been charged for. It told me two hrs online till I could get It. I arrived a little after 2 hrs and they still didn't have it ready. The lady working at the pick up told me to come back in a couple minutes. I shopped the store for 45 min to come back for them to tell me it's still not ready and the system is down. I asked to talk to a manager and she was rude and dismissive about my frustration of the order. I Will be going to a different location from now on. Update: Three items were missing from the order when i got back home after waiting at target over an hour after the pick up time. Super frustrating and highly recommend getting a pick up order from anywhere else. Carol was the only person that was helpful at all. read more

Horrible experience! I went there on busy Friday 4th of July, it was way too busy for the half capacity mandate for social distancing. I bought a microwave, my teens bathing suit ( full price $50!) , Various beauty items. At checkout, after ringing merchandise, I presented my teen's leftover Christmas gift card ($32) balance as first form of payment, then paid balance with my bank card. I told cashier balance seemed high, she never offered to see why. After cash out, I reviewed receipt at register, my teen rushed me out telling me I was holding up line, plus my mother was waiting for us. When I got home, I realized cashier never redeemed my gift card. After several attempts to call store, got hung up on after finally getting through to a live associate. Had to drive all the way back to newington, a supervisor found my gift card in trash, the apology from supervisor was very blah, non chalant. No gee ma'am, we're sorry for your inconvenience. No offer from Supervisor to adjust my receipt to credit the found gift card balance ($32), and reimburse my bank account the $ 32. As we only went to Target for my teen to spend her gift card. ***UPDATE*** Target Customer Relations ( complaint 800 number) emailed me a $32 gift card to compensate my inconvenience. I have spent the original gift card at Meriden Target. A much better shopping experience, had great customer service at electronics. Store was clean, organized, with friendly staff. read more

I really like target. The red card is great 5% off everything. The cartwheel app is also great I've saved over 100 bucks so far using it. And the gift card deals when u buy certain items are also very good. However, I definitely think this target could use a good cleaning. Target is normally pretty decent, but they recently didn't have an item in the store even though the website said that it was in stock at this location. The cashier basically told me that this happens all the time. I wonder if they just list everything as being "in stock" at all times, to get people in the door. There's nothing worse than wasting a customer's time... they should remove the inventory feature from their website if they can't maintain it accurately. read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing a Target store but I couldn't be happier with my purchase and the salespeople that assisted me. I had a ton of questions about a "smart" TV and not only did all my questions get answered, but they went above and beyond. I mentioned that the box looked dirty and damaged, as I was buying the last one in their stock and concerned about the inside. They informed me the trucks can be dirty and assured me there was no damage. I asked them to hold the TV while I did the rest of my shopping. When I got back to pay for everything, the box had been wiped clean! Now my clothes and my car would stay clean! Then, as I'm loading it into the back of my car, one of the employees that collects the carts, offered to help me put the TV into my car. Perhaps I'm not used to that kind of service-especially amongst our younger generation-but they surprised me during that visit! Love my experience! read more

I was able to find a few of the things i was looking for, but not as much as I normally can at the larger stores. Also, this is not one of the Target's that have a Starbucks in it. (BUMMER!) I do miss the one stop shopping that those larger stores provide! Overall, I LOVE Target! They are sooo much classier with a much better quality of merchandise. It's no secret I love Target. It's hard for Target to do much wrong, and this holds true for this Newington Target location; it's a reliably solid Target location. They have all the necessities. Service is good and people are friendly. With that being said, I have noticed some anomalies regarding this specific Target location. Not all are necessarily bad, however, they are different. For starter I've found that it's relatively smaller than most other Target stores I've been to. This also mean smaller checkout area, though I've never found this to be a problem in terms of how it affect the service or the customer experience. However, with the smaller size, they have an un-proportionally large clothing and softlines section. This makes the food relatively smaller. I also have a hard time navigating the store, and they layout doesn't seem to be standard. Like I said previously, this Target is location is consistently reliable. I've never really had an issue and always have had a good experiencing when I patron this Target location. Albeit non-standard from most Targets I've visited, I am still a fan. read more

This is the Target I'll go to when I commute to school. The set-up is easy to follow, it's essentially a square. You can go on the website, select your store location, and get the exact aisle number for the item you're looking for...I presume you can do this for any Target in any area. Great feature. This Target has an excellent grocery section, one the main reasons I would come here. I docked a star only because the school supply section was a hot mess. I went in looking for notebooks and left not getting any, because it was so messy I couldn't find what I needed. Especially during the back to school season for college students, someone should keep an extra eye on that section to keep it looking nicer than I found it. Also the prices of some of their larger notebooks seem too high. Why would I pay over $7 for a notebook that I can get for less than $5 elsewhere? It's a small difference, but working part-time, those few dollars count. This store's prices is high in some areas, but the convenience factor is high too. read more

This Target does the job, has plenty of parking (in a weird parking lot) and is close to everything else you need. I normally shop at least twice a week at this Target. I will no longer go here because of the cashier situation. They only have one cashier open during busy times because they try to force you to use their new automated machines. First, those machines take jobs away . Second, I always make mistakes ( I'm not a cashier) . Third, there is no belt so if your buying a full cart it's a nightmare! Your ringing up items and trying to put full bags into a carriage full of unpurchased items. Ugh . I'm done , I feel like I'm spending a lot of money for my items and a real person can at least ring me out. Target is becoming socially irresponsible just like Walmart. read more

This is my go to Target. I live less than 5 minutes from here. It's very organized and what I like the most, if I need help, I always find a courteous employee that help me with whatever I need. Prices are a little high maybe if you compare with the competitor, but the environment and the staff are so nice that I don't mind to pay 1$ more for something if im.goig to have a nice visit. I am kind of obsessed with Target, I go there a few times a week. The one on New Britain ave is one of my favorites, why you ask? First, it has recently remodeled and the grocery section competes with legitimate grocery stores when it comes to pure quantity of food, yes this includes produce. Also the electronics department pretty much ensures that I don't have to go to Best Buy any more. I love just wondering around this store and looking in places I never have before, they are always getting new things and it's a blast for me to explore. Palettes and unattended carts are left in the aisles no matter the time. Very few reps around (unless they're hiding). Items all over the floor that you have to step over. The store was fairly well organized, although there were some parts that were clearly a work in progress. I saw many employees hustling and bustling to clean up each section, especially the women's clothing section- which is pretty much always a mess, no matter the store or company. The floors and carpet were pretty clean and that's always a good quality; the outside of the store is pretty and kept up. The shoes and dollar sections were pretty chaotic, and it can be difficult to navigate especially those sections if they are messy. There were several sales going on however none of them benefitted us. They did have some unusual medical products we were looking for, so they were well stocked and prepared. Great Target! Always busy, but always orderly and neat. Big selection of clothing, and there is usually a huge clearance section if you have some time to pick through! The baby section is great; one could easily register here (a wedding registry would be perfect too). And helpful hint! I have tried every brand of diapers, and not only are Target brand diapers a fraction of the cost, there are BETTER than the name brands. And many times they have a "Buy 2 boxes, get a $10 gift card" situation.....Um, Yeah! They always have a seasonal section, which is on point, nice price ranges, and then wonderful clearance to stock up. The Target brand natural cleaning products are the best! I'm addicted to their all purpose cleaner....when they come out with a new scent, I am WAY too excited....Pink grapefruit is my fave, but the lemon mint is nice too! They recently (a few year ago) added the grocery section, which has a wonderful variety, specialty items, fresh produce, bakery items. AND, they carry an extensive line of ELF cosmetics, cruelty free, many items are $1, and high quality! All departments have a clearance end cap. When you walk in, there is the $1 store. read more

i really like this target there is always parking and it is right down the street from the westfarms mall. I enjoy doing light grocery shopping here as they always seem to have sales and I love items that are on sale and then you get a gift card (i.e. this week, buy 2 boxes of keurig k-cups get a $5 gift card). I placed an online order and when I got to the store to pick it up it wasn't ready. The "manager" had no idea as to what was going on with my order. I was told that the system was down, yet there were people picking up online orders as I was having issues with mine. I was also told that they didn't have my items, then I was told they didn't have SOME items, and then I was told that the order was unfulfilled. I was finally told that it was unfulfilled because some items were out of stock, but that they were still gathering the items that they did have in stock. I shopped around for almost an hour and when I came back it STILL wasn't ready. They then agreed to just call me when it was ready, and of course as soon as I pull into my driveway (20 min later) they called. I went back and picked up my order and I was told I would receive a confirmation email in 5-10 minutes. When I did I checked my items to make sure everything was there, and I was still missing 3 items that they did have in stock and that I was being charged for. I called the store when I got home and discovered that my items were missing. I selected to speak with someone at customer service and someone picked up, but I was asked to hold, and I was then transferred to the electronics department???? I was told to call back so that I could be transferred to customer service again because apparently they couldn't do it, so I did. The same person that answered the phone the first time picked up and told me to just come into the store because they were very busy and couldn't assist me, so I got in my car for the third time and drove right over. I was now at Target for the third time in one day for the same order that was screwed up. It is now 3:30 and I just now picked up the rest of my order. I felt like they had me running around in circles for no reason. I placed this order at 9:30 in the morning and it was only supposed to take 2 hours, but here I am 6 hours and 3 round trips later and I FINALLY have my complete order.
