This is an updated review for my last visit to Target optical. I realized that I never came back on to do an update once I received my glasses. In my previous review I noted that Target informed me that they would call me when my glasses would be ready. They never called me so I went without my new glasses longer than the estimated time. Once I called, the staff were not friendly over the phone and seemed irritated that I was calling to check on the status of the glasses. While I love my new frames, I might look for a new eyeglass spot in the future. read more

I finally found the style of glasses I've been looking for. Many designer brands and colorful choices. They also offer a wide variety of affordable options. I was found everything I was looking for and the whole process from try on to completing order was less than an hour. Very pleased with the customer friendly efficient customer service! My friends eye appointment was very lack luster.... Wow, what a sad appointment. The Optometrist lacked social skills, engagement, and here's the kicker....made zero eye contact with my friend when speaking. We wondered why there were so many people waiting for appointments but it all made sense when she experienced her "shot-gun" appointment. A grand total of 3 minutes spent on her exam. My friend plans to dispute the charge with her insurance company so she can go somewhere else to get a thorough eye exam. If u just need a prescription this is the place for you. If you want a thorough exam with above average customer service, look elsewhere. read more

On 7-30-22, I purchased a new pair of eyeglasses, which included transition lenses. The cost was $588.80. The store has a return policy stating that eyeglasses can be returned for a full refund for any reason within 90 days of purchase. In September 2022, I returned my eyeglasses and asked if I could switch to a smaller frame without transition lenses. The change saved me either $102 or $112 ($88 to remove the transition lenses and either or $20 or $30 for smaller frames). However, the store manager, Bobby R., was unsure of the exact savings because the computer system was acting up. Nevertheless, I returned my first pair of glasses, ordered the new pair, and was told that I would receive the refunded amount (either $102 or $112) in the mail. My new glasses arrived at the store about 7-10 days after that. When I picked up my new glasses, I asked about the refund. The store manager informed me then that it could take 6-8 weeks to receive. I again asked at that time the exact amount of the refund but was again told that the computer system was acting up, so the manager was unsure. I have never received any refund from Target Optical. Since that time, I have visited the store in person at least twice to ask about the refund and have called numerous times. Each time, the manager was not available, and I was told that my information would be taken down and the manager would contact me. I have received no other contact from the manager since I picked up my new glasses in September 2022. I sent an email to the Target Optical corporate office on 2-6-23. Their website states that email inquiries should get a response within 24 hours, but I have received no response. I have most recently filed complaints with the BBB and the Indiana Consumer Protection Division. It is unfortunate that I must go to these lengths to the get the refund I am legally entitled to. It seems like the ball was dropped and no one wants to assume responsibility to make it right for the customer. read more

Warning for contact lens customers! I have no problem with the doctor or the staff who are all fantastic, but Target does not have contacts available in store. All lenses are shipped, delivery takes about 10 days, and while this has always been an inconvenience, it was a tolerable one until now. After my contact lens order was two days late, I tried to track my shipment online and was unable to do so; I had to call the store where I placed the order. I was informed my pre-paid order was CANCELLED at the factory for unknown reasons and the store was not informed. The manager (or whomever I spoke with) sincerely apologized, said this happens sometimes, and resubmitted my order with expedited delivery (should arrive in 2-3 days) While I appreciate the effort to resolve the issue and realize its not the fault of the staff, it doesn't fix the basic problems. The first problem is, if course, not having contacts in stock at the store. I could've taken my prescription a mile down the road to Walmart and walked out with lenses that day, or ordered them online for less, but I chose to go with Target because that's where I had my exam and I'm a loyal cookie. Had lenses been available in the store, the next two issues wouldn't exist. Second problem: It's not possible to track an order made in-store (as is the case when you order after a yearly exam) Had I been able to do so, I would've checked the status myself starting from the day I ordered, as I do with all other online purchases. I like to know the status from start to finish, so I can catch any issues right away and make corrections. Because I had to go through the store and didn't want to bug the staff every few days, I waited until my estimated delivery date had passed before calling. Last problem: The factory Target uses to ship lenses will apparently cancel orders. That alone is bad enough, but then the local store isn't always informed of the cancellation! And why would the STORE be the only one informed, anyway? Why wasn't I informed? I paid for the contacts, after all. Had I not called, I wouldn't have known about the cancellation. My contacts are already late, now there's more waiting. I may continue going to Target Optical, as it's the closest store accepting my insurance and I do think highly of the doctors and staff, but I will never purchase contact lenses there again. I'll take my prescription and business elsewhere. Three problems solved. read more

I purchased my glasses a year ago from a different Target location. I never liked the fit therefore, I brought them to this location to be resized. They were sized PERFECTLY to my face and were comfortable. The lens were 'crazed' during the process therefore, I brought them back to this location. A staff member by the name of Nicole, ordered me new lenses and provided the BEST customer service to resolve this issue. Nicole was kind and apologetic...normally an issue like this would make a customer take their business elsewhere BUT because Nicole gave the best care, I will continue to go back to this location. read more

So not happy. I spent over $360 plus what my insurance paid them and it has been 14 days and no glasses. I can not wear my contacts because of a scratch on my eye. I was told when I ordered the glasses they were coming in early. I have never had to wait this long for glasses and they are rude when you call and inquire if they are in. Not recommending them to anyone and they have lost me bringing in the other 3 members of my family. read more

I am always a little leery of department store optical places, but I was pleasantly surprised when I went here. Ever since my normal optical place stopped carrying my insurance I have had the hardest time finding a place...but Target optical is open later in the day, on the weekends and is conveniently located in one of my favorite places to shop so I thought -why not? The doctor was quick, thorough and very good at explaining everything to me without making me feel stupid. read more

My two kids and I have been in the care of Dr. Swift for 7 years. I find him to be extremely careful and thorough during exams. He always remembers the details of each of our cases and makes us feel relaxed and comfortable during exams and consultations. I am confident that he is providing excellent care for the three of us........otherwise, I'd have to find another eye doctor! Hope I never have to do that. read more

I received a rushed eye exam that resulted in an inaccurate prescription. When I attempted to contact this location (3 times I called), they never returned my calls. I had to get a new eye exam from another provider. I had to pay the new provider out of pocket because a target had received an authorization to use my insurance, but they had not processed it almost two months later. When they were contacted by the new doctor, they decided to process it knowing I was not happy with their service. I contacted Target Optical corporate via chat. I was provided a link to complete to get a refund. I filled out the link only to be told, "the doctors side of our store are independently owned and operated. Any refunds or discounts for services and exams are at the discretion of the store. You will need reach out to the doctor in which you had your exam for further assistance." If I had gotten a response from the doctor, I would not be contacting corporate Target. I was not happy with the doctor. Now, I am very dissatisfied with Target. I will be complaining to my insurance company as well. This store and doctor need to be removed from their provider list. read more

So I'm from out of town and was having issues with my contacts. I showed up and Dr. Abigail David squeezed me in in-between appointments. She was extremely professional and gave me suggestions to better take care of my eyes. Even though I live 3 hours away I'd go back here in a second! Don't let reviews of bad experiences with prior physicians keep you away. Abigail is worth the visit!!! read more

The worst place for having eye exam. The doctor was very rude, impatient (especially if you have little children), and unprofessional. He did the exam very quick (less than 15 minutes) for $95 fee. I don't believe 15 minutes exam is considered a "comprehensive exam". I was not confident with the his exam and I decided to follow up with another optometrist. read more

Don't buy their one year warranty on lenses .. all of their lenses are already covered with a one year warranty from the manufacturer so they are stealing your money!!!! This is coming straight from an employee that has worked for them for many years.. not only do they not know what they are doing they will rip you off.. read more

I haven't been to the eye Dr. in years. I'm 45 and never needed glasses, at 40 I needed readers (cheaters). I called around the phone conversation with target was the friendliest and most knowledgeable. That did not stop there, they got me right back the gentleman I think his name was Jarrett offered to do my paperwork because I couldn't even see to do it. I do talk a lot and the eye doctor dealt with that LOL she was very nice and very understanding to my issues. However all of this is not the reason I am doing this yelp, i've never wrote a yelp review or anything like that before. The rest of my time I had a wonderful young lady named Demi help me and my son, we both are receiving glasses(I need bifocals) SMH. Demi has a very Pleasant way to her, she is very honest and told me what I needed and what I didn't. I feel like I wasn't a patient to Demi, I felt like family. So long story short target got me in two days after I called was very quick, clean, accommodating and if you go to the same one I went to and deal with Demi I'm sure you'll be writing a yelp review also even if it is for the first time.
