I have been seeing Dr. Markeson for years, starting with Sears Optical in Burnsville Mall. I will not go to anyone else!

Not a huge deal to drive farther to location 2 except - I have been waiting for these frames since June 12th - that's over 3 months. Around the first week of August i was left a voicemail on vacation indicating they expected my frames in the next week. I never heard back and called again on 9/11 and was informed someone was calling me back at 2pm same day with an update. Not only did i not get that call back, i also left a voice mail three days ago (now 9/25) that was also never returned. in terms of customer service, how can you expect a customer to wait for over 3 months for eye frames when they were in stock at one of your locations? on multiple occasions why would you not call your customer back? why does one location take my insurance but another does not? eye exam was NOT covered by my insurance because i learned after the fact that it was the other location that accepted my insurance. eye exam itself was excellent. i have gone to LensCrafters and VisionWorks and really wanted to like Dakota Eye Care but you have missed the mark with nearly every aspect of what it takes to provide excellent customer service.

Honestly, it really felt like nobody in the building even wanted people to be there. The vibe was…read morerally weird with no energy. They had a notice on the door one of their Doctors had moved on. They also have very short business hours ( 3-4 days a week). During my time in the waiting room while my daughter had her exam, 1 person came to pick up their glasses and the order had never been pushed through so they were never ordered. Another person came in because they hated their new glasses and wanted to go back to what they had before. They eyeglass guy had no concern with that, other than to say OK and worked on the insurance to change the lenses back no singular vision. The man in charge of frames was not interested in helping or offering suggestions on what would look good for her face. His only comment was women's are over there and men's frame start at the end of that tall shelf. My daughter is 17 years old, so went into the exam room by herself, not wanting or needing me in there. Afterward, the Doctor only said "not much change in her prescription, then walked away. The staff did not give us a print out of my daughters prescription so I had to go back and ask for that since there were not any frames in this location my daughter liked. I have never had an eye exam where they don't provide you a copy of your prescription. It really felt like this was a place getting ready to close up shop or go out of business and was just counting the minutes until it's over. My family of six will not be returning.

I was aware that I could not use them together. Not a problem to me! When checking out, I ended up spending around $175, instead of the $75 for a complete pair of glasses that the Yelp deal advertises. I told him that I would even just forfeit the Living Social deal. Not the case at all. He seemed pushy in selling me a second pair of glasses & in the upsell of the polarized lenses. I just wasn't totally satisfied in the service that was provided to me in my visit & how I was told that the Living Social Deal was a better deal than the Yelp deal. How is $175 cheaper than $75? I emailed E.o.M & the response was cold. When I picked up my sunglasses, the Manager was even cold. I was told that the $75 coupon from Yelp is bogus and that they don't honor it. Horrible customer service in my opinion & I have worked in the service industry for over 15 years. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! If I could give this a 0 out of 5 stars, trust me, I would have.

I gave this place two stars because the eye doctor that I saw was really nice, and the receptionist…read moreman was also nice. That is until I told him that my glasses prescription was wrong. He then started arguing with me that I wouldn't be able to tell, as though I haven't been wearing these glasses for 25 years. I came to Inver Grove because Target gave me the wrong prescription the year before. I could see things, but they were much to strong. When I kept arguing with the man at Inver Grove Family Eye Clinic that I was sure these were not the correct lenses (one is stronger and one is weaker) he went out of the room for about 10 minutes, then asked me to come into the exam room with him (he is NOT an optometrist) he had me look at the letters on the wall and asked me to read them. I read them because I can see them because one of my lenses is too strong, and he said, "See, as long as you can see 20-20 that means that you have the right prescription." Anyone who wears glasses knows this is not true. And the whole reason I came there was because my previous prescription was TOO STRONG! In fact my doctor TOLD ME that is was much too strong! I proceeded to try to convince him for awhile longer but he brushed me off and would not reschedule an appointment. I could have kept bothering them, but it seemed futile for me. So they get one star because I did not keep trying, and one star because they were nice in the beginning. Hope this helps...don't let that guy bully you like I did!

Overall, they provided me with particularly bad service--especially the man who worked at the front…read moredesk. The eye doctor gave me two eye exams, because after the first exam, I was still experiencing vision problems, and as a result, returned about a month later for a second exam. This time, he told me I needed bifocals-- according to him, that would fix all my problems... which he concluded after an exam that lasted about 60 to 90 seconds, and involved only one test. He held two plastic lenses over my eyes, and asked, "is that better?" I hesitated for a moment, but eventually responded yes. However, the test he did involved me looking through the lenses at a line of letters on a piece of paper that was sitting on my lap, which was a questionable test at best, because I told him that I was having trouble seeing things clearly, when they're close to my eyes (like a foot away or less)-- for example: the text and numbers on my cell phone; by contrast, the sheet with the line of letters, was about 2 feet away from my eyes... so it didn't really strike me as a good test to diagnose my problem. After this seemingly rushed test of his, he said, "you need bifocals." I felt not totally convinced, but ultimately, I thought, "well-- he's the doctor I guess... he probably knows what's best." When the bifocals were ready for pick up and I tried them on for the first time, I became frustrated and disappointed because they made no difference whatsoever. I still had serious trouble seeing things clearly up close. On top of that, my insurance wouldn't cover them, which I was never warned about in advance by the provider. They ended up costing me $452.88. And worst of all, after I submitted an appeal to the insurance company, Ucare, to reconsider their denial, the man at the front desk, gave me only about half of the information needed, and refused to do the necessary work - which by the way, wasn't much - to figure out the remaining information Ucare needed. When I sent them what he did give me, they responded by saying it wasn't adequate to reconsider my situation. So I returned to him, and when I told him the original form he gave was rejected, he got uppity with me, and said that the info he gave them the first time is all they should need to process the appeal. He refused to find out more and give me all of the requested information. He honestly said, "I'm not doing that! That's stupid." There was no one in the store waiting in line to see him, he wasn't doing anything when I came in, and I read online, that eye care professionals are legally obligated to give the info Ucare asks for, if requested by a patient or customer. My overall rating of Inver Grove Heights Family Eye Clinic? One star out of five. The only reason they get even one star, is that the primary optometrist, during my first eye exam, discovered a blister in the bottom right-hand corner of my eye, which required laser surgery from a retina specialist to fix. So for that, I give genuine thanks. But regarding everything else? Just awful.

Bailey was highly…read moreknowledgeable and asked great questions to glean details to preemptively present information useful to my particular situation. The parking lot is small, with six spots shared between the street-facing optometry office and an interactive media studio behind it. I was greeted by both Bailey and the sunny Teri upon walking in. Soon as I was done with the paperwork, Bailey had a machine quickly measure my eyes for basic numbers to hand off to the optometrist (no puff of air involved, in case that bothers anyone), and I was ushered to the office to meet Dr. Matthew Anderson. Matt is a rather quiet individual - going expect overt humor or any chit-chat. That said, he was professional and thorough, whether in checking my eyesight, fitting me for contact lenses, or rechecking the fitting after I'd put on a trial pair. Eyes All Over typically gives over a week's worth of daily contact lenses for a trial run, and Matthew makes a point of guiding clients towards economical lens choices that offer enough support for their eyes without wallet overkill. Optometrists often have a refitting policy in event a prescription doesn't feel quite right, and Matthew's refitting policy extends 60 days from the examination. Overall, a good experience. I'll be back in a week to pick up the trial contact lens sets on order for me. Meanwhile, I have the remaining pairs the office had on hand to try out.

Hey did you notice the picture of the lady on the Eyes All Over Yelp page?…read moreWhen my wife needed to get new glasses, moving more and more to the small business and local companies, I did some Yelpsearch. There were a few different options but Eyes All Over kind of jumped out at me. First for their excellent reviews and second for that picture of the lady. Even though they did not have a lot of reviews we thought this would be our kind of place. I called to verify if we needed an appointment or not and was told if we had a prescription within the last year that we did not need an appointment. My wife did have a recent prescription so we stopped in on a Saturday morning. Eyes All Over is conveniently located on 7th St just outside of St Paul. We were promptly greeted by Teri when we walked in. Since we had our prescription it was just a matter of my wife finding some frames. Now something you need to know about my wife. If she were to go to the grocery store for a bag of chips, and there were only 2 bags of chips left in the whole store, it would probably take her an hour to decide. Yes she is very indecisive. Teri was kind enough to blink the lights in the store to let us know they were closing. I am just kidding. Terri come over to offer her opinion and help. With her assistance and knowledge we were able to select a frame. Teri then guided us through the lens process explaining our options and insurance throughout. Less than a week later our glasses were ready to pick up. Very pleased with our experience and excellent customer service. We did get a good deal on our frames however our overall cost was more than we paid when we last got glasses. That could be attributed to a number of different reasons. Either way we enjoyed our experience and will definitely return next time we need glasses which may be for me next time.
