I went there for check up. Got a whole new prescription and a pair of glasses (which I was able to get five patients online for same price.) anyhow I have non stop headaches and dizzy and eye problems ever since the new prescription went back to get a recheck! Took the morning off work!! Got there waited them the receptionist said you can't go to a new doctor for a re exam , you have to go back to same one. ??? Ha?? What ?? My experience at Pearle Vision has been extremely poor from start to finish. Oct 15: I came in for an eye exam and ordered two pairs of glasses: readers and progressives. During checkout, the technician had to go back to the doctor to clarify the prescription because the handwriting was not legible. Nov 20: I called to ask where my glasses were. I was told they had "texted me," but I received no call, and I was never clearly notified that the glasses had arrived. When I picked them up, the progressives (about $850) caused immediate issues--headaches and severe distortion (I felt disoriented, almost like I was intoxicated). The readers were blurry/non-focused--a cheap pair of readers from Target was sharper than what I received. When I reported these issues, I was told this is "just how progressives are," rather than having the situation properly evaluated. I requested a re-check exam because I believe the prescription or measurements were wrong. Staff were confrontational and told me insurance likely wouldn't cover a re-exam because "too much time had passed," despite the fact that I wasn't properly notified that the glasses were in and couldn't start the adjustment window sooner. As of Jan 20, I still do not have a working set of glasses. They've acknowledged issues with the readers and said they were redone, but they continue insisting the progressives are fine even though they are not wearable for me. This has been a major failure in both quality control and customer service. If you value accurate prescriptions, clear communication, and accountability, I recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

It took me from August 25 to Dec 3 to get my glasses. The number of mistakes made by that many people was mind bending. I wore shorts to order these glasses. I wore a winter coat and gloves to pick them up. First they came back without the coatings. Then we found out that the first person never ordered them. Then we found out they never charged me for them. (I was told they were included, which surprised me, because they usually aren't). It took them a full hour to correct the billing mistake. Paid for the coatings. Reordered. Waited several weeks. They came back. No coatings. The "lab" made a mistake. Sure. Got it. Reordered. Wait several more weeks. Nothing. Called. "There was a delay". Wait a week. Nothing. Called. "The lab made a mistake, they're making them, they will be rushed." Wait 1 more week. And everyone blamed someone else. Sometimes they blamed the "lab". But usually they blamed the last person who helped me. I've never seen a business where more employees threw each other under the bus. The optometrist was great. But the rest of the staff are clearly resentful, distrusting, and disorganized. read more

I loved my experience there, they are very warm and welcoming through out my ent0ire time. I was there roughly an hour taking time looking at glasses'. They had a lot of people enter the store, meanwhile ALL of the staff continued to make me a priority and care for my time. I highly recommend this location! read more

I am writing a positive review of this location because of the obvious skill of the optometrist, and even more importantly, to note the exceptional customer service skills of it's General managers turn around of a very bad situation. I had never worn glasses, but was not able to see highway signs at night-which worried me, as I was solo driving out of state for a vacation. After the eye exam, I tried frames on and made a decision. I was told they would be in within two weeks. Three weeks went by. My time off work was coming up. I called and inquired about the glasses, and was given a BS answer on the glasses coming from China, etc. I was irate, and said so. I would have to cancel my vacation. I asked for a refund. I was told that I would only receive a partial refund. Needless to say, I was disappointed.. But believed the exam was good, and that at the very least, I would have a prescription to bring to a different shop. The day after I received the refund, the store manager; Cole called and informed me that the person who had been speaking to me over the phone had been fired and that the glasses were FREE. He apologized profusely, and agreed that the young women was incompetent and rude. That is a RARE situation, and one that I am happy to report. When a store manager realizes the importance of ONE customer, they realize the importance of ALL customers!! I will be coming back, and recommending people as long as Cole is here. read more

My wife and I both used pearl this year for new glasses. The optometrist seems friendly and competent-- but the staff here is RUDE. Offended my wife when she asked to replace the glasses she purchased with a new, identical pair. My experience was more concerning. It relates to the low quality of glasses. Two days after receiving bee glasses, I noticed that all lighting 100 yards or farther 'halos' -- unlike a pair from another optometrist with virtually the same prescription. Basically unusable and -- as expected, the staff wasn't helpful or friendly with post sale issues. Go elsewhere. read more

I have been a Pearle Vision customer for several years. i have always gone to the So Robert Street location. My lenses fell out and I couldn't replace my frames yet. The staff was rude and gave me a very hard time even though I purchased the frames there. Last week I bought new glasses but this will be the LAST time I use this location. The staff are not helpful and are NOT very good at adjusting the fit. I have been in 3 times and they don't even look at you to see how they are fitting. I finally went to the Woodbury store to have them adjusted and they were great. Go somewhere else to purchase your glasses. read more

I have been a Pearle Vision customer for several years, but this was my first and LAST time at this So Robert Street location. The facility itself is located in a strip mall in an accessible area. It's interior is satisfactory and ample space between stations and frame displays. Due to an insurance change and appointment availability, my daughter came to this location. The process was easy online, but because I had one prior appointment at a different location that needed to be changed due to no longer accepting my insurance, I called to confirm several things including: 1) if they accept my coverage at this Pearle Vision location 2) to verify an appointment for "everything to be done in one visit" including an eye exam for a glasses prescription and a contact lens fitting and what I presumed would be instruction to a new lens wearer. I arrived at my appointment early and figured we could shop for frames as we waited. No addition assistance or direction was offered. I had to ask if she could tell us what frames were fully covered and which ones had price discounts. She sat in her chair and motioned towards the option. I really wanted some assistance, some help to show my daughter her options and possibly ask if we wanted some suggestions....you know like a customer service is supposed to be. Apparently, she did had other priorities and we weren't one of them. There was another woman who was helping a customer and providing all that I mentioned above and more. Why was this other staff person so cold and uninformative--it was hard to discern if she had attitude or was just that way. So we basically gave up on the shopping for frames. I totally was prepared to buy whatever my daughter Then a male worker comes out and is helping a family with glasses for a kid. Wow, he was pretty dang awesome and excited for the patient! I came in for an eye appointment and about an hour after I got home, my eye began to be very irritated. it felt as though something was stuck in my eye. it then became red and infected. I called the West St. Paul location to see if I could stop in quick to see what could have happened as it appeared very obvious that something happened from my appointment and they would not make any accommodations for days. not great service. read more

It is a shame that we do not have more choices in the area. When we first moved here we ended up getting our appointments and glasses/contacts here simply out of convenience. They do not have a very big selection at all. The prices on the contacts are higher than most and you have to order them and wait. The lady's there are very down to business and do not seem to have much of a sense of humor. read more

While the initial eye exam and selection of glasses went well, I was pretty disappointed with the glass pick-up service. I spent over $700 on two pairs of glasses and my new reading glasses had been made with the wrong prescription. Those needed to be sent back to be redone. My next set of glasses (progressive and transitional) seemed good but no attempt was made to fit them correctly as I've typically experienced previously at optical stores. Additionally when I asked for glass cleaning cloth, which was not provided, I got the distinct impression that I was asking for a valuable freebie. I really believe that the service you offered was very poor considering the sum of money I had paid for two pairs of glasses. Avoid. read more

This was one of the worst experience I had ever had. I wish I could give it 0 stars. If I could do anything about this experience it would be to warn others not to come here. The service is horrific, the staff is rude and unprofessional. The Dr. was very quick with my eye exam. I became concerned that perhaps my glasses would not turn out right because of her haste. When we got to the end of the exam, she slowed down tremendously to upsell me on the progressive lens. I couldn't understand quite what she was saying, but I knew I was being had because she would not make eye contact. She just kept rolling her eyes as she talked and looking the other way. Then she was done. I was horrified because I didn't like the lenses that she was showing me. I felt that I may not be able to see out of them. I asked her, is it ok ? She said, yes. I was hurt. I left and mumbled to myself, "I am putting this experience on yelp." I know she heard me because she went to Justin and talked to him. The service was not great there either. I felt as if I was being upselled but I thought ok, maybe this would help me see out the glasses I am going to get. I heard the lady say something to him, it sounded like she was accusing us of something. He looked at her and asked her did she see anything and she said no that she just wanted to make him aware. What was that about? This was the same customer service lady who had a baby strapped to her while she was working with us (unprofessional). Everyone else have to try to find childcare so that they can professionally work in our society. Not her. She make us all uncomfortable as she work with a baby strapped to her. Like, we don't see that. As Justin was working with us, I reached over to see my exam. As I was reading it, I stumbled across negative notes that were written about me in the back of the exam. "She is agitated" and other negative things were said. This added insult to injury. They were literally taking this negative customer service experience and placing it on me as if I were the PROBLEM! Yes folks, they were BLAMING THE VICTIM!" This is the WORST thing you could do in customer service. When Justin finished with us, it came to the tune of approximately y$600. There is so much horror to this story. For example, my insurance didn't cover the frames so now they didn't want to work with me cause they accused me of being difficult. Another insult to the injury. I wish I ever came in here. I am sorry that I did. However, this could be good for you guys because you have a chance to save yourself a headache. If you don't want false accusations, rude and unprofessional service and most of all if you don't want to feel like a villain when being victimized DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! read more

I previously purchased a pair of glasses from this location because this Optical provider brand name is preferred by my insurance EyeMed. I stopped by on Aug 24, 2013 at approximate 3pm to have them adjusted and to also look for frames for my minor son. Upon arrival we were greeted by a young, slender, spiked hair caucasian male with medium size gauges in his ears. My son and I may have been in the store approx 15 min's trying on different frames ranging from economy pricing to designer wear just seeking a feel for style. My son found one pair as a possible and asked for the style make and model to be written down by the employee. We noticed that during our visit that the worker disappeared into the back but reappeared to a phone call as though the party had been put on hold but we never heard the phone ring. We walked out the establishment and immediately realized I had not gotten my current frames adjusted and we reentered the store. The employee adjusted my frames as I heard a chime from the entrance. I never turned as I was looking in the mirror but my son noticed that it was two uniformed police officers. The worker then proceeded to ask me a question "Did you take the frames that are missing from the wall"? I was bewildered for the very indirect accusation of stealing. I was insulted because I am an employed professional with vision care. This location is a part of my community and this franchised location hires incompetent employees. I was so outraged at the remarks from this worker that my son and I stood and I dumped ALL the contents of my purse onto his counter. I did not have pockets and my son turned his inside out for the officers before they could even ask. The worker began to apologize over & over again and explain how frames keep coming up missing and he's responsible. HE PROBABLY IS!!!!! The West St. Paul Police Officers, asked for the I.D. of the employee and he patted his pockets and apologized for not having one on him. They made him give his full name and DOB wrote it down and we all walked out as the worker continued to apologize even more. There was a family of 3 leaving the store when we arrived. I don't know what the worker was doing or was supposed to be doing but obviously he was not doing his job. I will NEVER enter into this location again. I work for a health care company that referee especially to our surrounding community locations and this one is deleted. I will be contacting EyeMed on Monday morning and the corp office of Pearle Vision also because of the independent ownership of this specific location. Horrible customer service at this location. My husband ordered 2 pair of glasses the middle of June and was told they would be in, in 2-3 weeks. We called 4 weeks later and they still were not in. We stopped in last night and his glasses were in the store. The gal that waited on us handed my husband the safety glasses he ordered. He asked if they had the transition lens, he ordered and she said yes- never looked at the order or the glasses. My husband is wearing today and they do not have the transition lens. She then handed him his regular frames, never even bothering to check the fit. She told him if he shakes his head and they don't feel loose, they are fine. Then we noticed an obvious scratch on the frame, she proceeded to tell us it was just glue. She wiped them and handed them back. We said they are scratched and she said, we can order a replacement, if you want. Like we're suppose to just take the scratched frame because it's too much work for them to reorder. Two pair of glasses that we waited 6 weeks for and both now need to be reordered. We will not be going back to this location. Zero Stars!!! read more
