This is during COVID-19: We arrived in the evening and pretty much everything we needed was wiped out. Typical though, Target is a great store and when this panickdemick is over, I'm sure things will be more readily available. Meanwhile, we've opted for paper item alternatives. Such as handkerchiefs instead of Kleenex, cloth napkins instead of paper and we bought a bidet. No more tissue issue (not from Target). I can't rave enough about Target's Drive Up service! It's the fastest, most convenient, most efficient, (not sure about) most savings, way of shopping! When I need anything, Target is the first store I check for availability. I can sort all items that are In Stock and for Drive Up. I can also shop what's on sale and which one will earn me some gift cards. I send the order before I work then it's ready for me to pick up when I get off work. I don't spend more than 2 minutes waiting for my order. Contactless payment and they even load the groceries in your car without contact too. read more

Target sucks. It's really not what it was before thanks to California and they're do absolutely nothing about theft laws, they now have to lock everything up. Waiting for items to be unlocked takes up unnecessary wait time. I need contraceptives and detergente, after I0 minutes of waiting no one came. I was then left with no choice but ask the cashier to ask someone to grab items for me. I been going to this Target a lot. Through out the years that I been going here I have seen the changes it has gone through. I believe this location has gone through a lot of remodel. I believe I have gone here before they put in the Starbucks. I have seen the Electronic Department re-locate quite a lot since I been going here. What do I like about going to this Target...The wonderful service that I been getting here. I been greeted right away when I enter the store. I don't think I had gone to a Target that I was greeted once I enter the store. I remember in 2003 I got a Computer desk from this location. I don't think I had anyone help me load it into my car which was a total mistake. When I attended Diablo Valley College I got my school supplies from this location. They surely got what I needed compare to going to Walmart in Martinez. It can be hard to get in and out of this shopping center since there are an In & Out Burger and Ross. Had a terrible experience. Nearly everything in the personal care/pharmacy section is locked up, including the $5 deodorant! It makes it impossible to shop for anything in the department during busy hours and with short staffing. 4 people were waiting growing increasingly irritated. I gave up after 10 minutes and no response. They are verifiably losing more money having everything locked up than they would just occasionally losing items to shoplifting. I hate going into a store to be automatically treated like a criminal and wait for an employee escort because I want to buy deodorant. Enough is enough. read more

1/7/2022 8pm at your Pleasant Hill, CA store. Jose the Store Manager has a horrible attitude towards everything in general. Tried to ask why I was getting charged extra 30 cents for few cases of can drink right after paying and he told me to go collect the money at a recycle center after you drink them. We all know there is no center where you can collect that much from them. I asked for a return and he did not refund me the fees at all. I told him that isnt right when your putting it in the basket there for returning back to the shelf. You cant just keep collecting the fee for the state. Its fair to refund my money unless you plan on destroying the product. Short version Jose did not care and had an attitude when I told him its only fair since no one was there at the self checkout to help me when I noticed the extra 30 cents being added. I had to finish paying to ask what it is for. Just to find out they wont give it back. I asked another supervisor/manager about it and instantly she gave me a refund and apologized and told me she would speak to him. How do you have a store manager on duty with his name tag in his pocket and he isn't willing to give his name out without having to ask him a few times? Not the best Target but I like coming to this one since Ross and Home Goods is next door. I've had friendly encounters with the staff and they price match without a heavy sigh. There is a lot of empty shelves but hey it's the holidays so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they're probably short staff as well. The return lines were extra long but they had plenty of checkout stations open. Parking is a little crazy and the carts lock up if you push it to the furthest part of the lot. read more

California just announced another mask mandate.. and when i went at their pleasant hill store the other night i noticed at least 9 people shopping without masks on. And when the walked by employees, no one told them to put a mask on. Ive always thought the employees there were lazy. I didn't even see any sort of sign out front either mandating shoppers to have masks on before coming in. My other thing is... when did it become ok for everyone to bring their pet dog in?? whenever i shop at their pleasant hill store i feel like im shopping at petco. I see people just freely walking their dogs on their leash and around the food. When i came to their pleasant hill store a month ago i was out front walking in and could hear a customers dog barking its head off repeatedly at their customer service counter before i even walked in. By far the least pleasant shopping experience I've had in a Target. Every time I come here the store is woefully under stocked, the lines are disturbingly long, and merchandise is scattered about randomly giving the appearance of a garage sale. The highlight of insanity came for me when I spent several minutes searching for vinegar in an aisle clearly marked "oil & vinegar" only to find it several aisles over with the condiments (see pictures). It's much better to drive to the nearest location about 10-15 minutes away. read more

BEWARE OF RETURN POLICY! I went to Target to buy some organizational items. I bought $40 worth of items. I used $19 in a merchandise return card and $21 on my credit card. The next day, I went to return one item worth $16 with the receipt. I was told that I could only get a merchandise return card and not return it on my credit card. WHAT?!? Target is basically stealing money. I paid $20, and I should get that back on my credit card. This is a ridiculous policy. I am very unsatisfied with Target and will shop elsewhere. read more

This store was out of a lot of items. I asked an employee where certain things were and they were out or items had not been restocked. I wouldn't have thought anything of it but it was a lot of items across the board. Appliances, stationary, utensils, dog food, people food. Not only were things not stocked but the shelves were messy. In the frozen food items were not in the right places and it was all stacked on top of each other and items at the bottom of the freezer it was a mess. The employees were not as welcoming either. When going to check out one of the checkers did not put their light on noting they were open. However she had a customer finishing so I went behind her to wait. When the checker noticed I was in line she rolled her eyes at me. I asked are you open and she said yah. I was very thrown off by my whole experience at this target location. read more

This 5 star review is for one of the managers on duty the morning of Sunday, 6/9. I think her name is Alyssa. An angry couple and myself were waiting for someone to open the skin care display cabinet (the "A block" as I learned by listening to the radio conversation). This manager had just started her shift literally 2 minutes prior to walking up to help us. The angry couple spent the next 10 minutes going off on this sweet employee. I didn't step in to help her because I'm a chicken, but I did go up to her afterwards to apologize for the horrible people who started her workday. She told me that she's glad it was her the angry couple got because she would hate for them to go off on one of her team members. What a great manager! Anyway, I hope good things come your way and know that the karma bus is out looking for the angry couple. read more

I have been a Target fan for years. My favorite time to visit, by far, is the week after a major holiday. Their holiday sale section cannot be beat. Yes, most of the items are holiday specific but they also have a lot of items that happen to be seasonal but could really be used year round. Like red things. I love red things, red is one of our wedding colors and for some reason red things are often considered holiday specific. I have left with both holiday and non-holiday specific items for at least 75% off. This past post-Christmas, I got new red and white kitchen rugs (see photo) and large red storage bins for a just a couple dollars each. I also picked up some cool sparkly decorative things (see photo) that I promptly placed inside a large vase that I had picked up last year during a post-Easter sale. The sparkly things were a dollar a piece. Awesome. I am looking forward to the post-Valentine's Day sale. More red things! read more

Oh Target, how I used to love you and come here just in destress. Your empty shells depress me now and make me feel like I want to make the trek over to the Walnut Creek location even though I live closer to this one. The staff are usually friendly however they are also just so very busy and it's hard to get them to either stop and help you or get a price or anything. A lot of the price checkers are also down. I noticed this decrease in the amount of products even before the pandemic so I don't think they've ever fully caught up. It is really a hit or miss if you want things delivered from this location or pick up after you order online. And now they're doing construction at the customer service booth and so the line is always extremely long. Why don't they at least have this fully staffed as before to have two or three people during busy times instead of one? I have also seen staff get scolded by managers right in front of customers. I don't know if that seems right or fair. I don't know, maybe I am used to how things used to be years ago when you can walk in here and just look and browse and be happy. Seems like things have just gone downhill and I hope that maybe the facelift at customer service is a sign for good things ahead. If so I will change my review. read more

I love this Target. Specifically for the beauty essentials. I came here one day looking through the makeup aisle trying to look for a foundation and a worker went up to me and asked if I was finding everything okay. Thinking it was their routine thing to say, I politely said, "Yes, Thank you." She went up to me and told me if I needed any more help, they have a beauty consultant that could match me up with foundations. A beauty consultant?! At a drug store?! I took immediate advantage of that. The beauty consultant matched me perfectly. She found my foundation, powder, concealer, the right eyeliners, mascara, etc, and everything was in my budget! She gave me tips because I know nothing about makeup and I could even exchange/return my makeup if I didn't like it! I'm from Vallejo and my Target doesn't even have this - but I don't mind crossing the bridge to go to this one. This is the worst Target in the east bay. Avoid it like the plague. Rather than hiring cashiers, they have thirty plus customers waiting on three-four registers. What happened to this Target location!?!? It used to be such a nice store! I completely agree with other Yelpers' reviews. The store was a total mess during my last visit. I had never seen such disarray before! Clothing was strewn all over the floor, carts with "go-backs" were in the aisles and were overflowing with merchandise, and items on shelves were misplaced. The employees do not appear to enjoy working here and either are impolite to the point of being confrontational or they meander by without helping customers. They seem bothered by the customers, which makes me not feel welcome at all to shop there. If Target corporate doesn't step in, I wonder what the future will be for this location. read more
