I came to this Target, while in the area. To pick up a few items that I needed yo restock up on for my place. Because my local Targets are based on the Targets (Daly City, South City and San Francisco). I'm used to a certain level of product availability, coordination between staff members and Customers and finally, the parking lot are is a nice sizable space that should fit a large amounts of cars but to be honest it doesn't. This location doesn't necessarily meet all of this key points but as a Target store. They still meet the basic requirements and needs. The produce is great and fresh. The isles are fully stocked, even if it's lacking some key products that I can find closer to the Peninsula. The bathrooms are clean the isles are clearly visible and marked by signs for customers to navigate easier. These are basic necessities that are so very important as a customer. Now, for the things that can really use some improvements. Before you even get into the store. The parking is rough, to say the least. Because this Target is located in a strip mall and not in its own private lot. Parking can be a free-for-all. My personal recommendation, the earlier you can shop the easier it is to find a space. Let's put it this way to be nice. Some of the staff aren't the most comfortable in their roles. Their body language and attitude, can really use some adjusting. Not all but some do need better training. Whether it's because they're not having a good day or they're just not happy. Staff need to do better. Especially when dealing with the public. The value is always great at Target but pointless if you can't stand being in the store. There's always room for improvement, and improvement is needed in key places. The drive-up/ order pickup is also an issue. I made an online order with products that were shown to be fully in-stock. An hour later, I was sent a notification that half my order was ready but the other half was not available. How? if everything online was shown to be in-stock. Although, I was bothered I went to pickup the order anyway. Parking sucked because customers used the order pick-up spaces as regular vehicle parking. When I finally found parking, I got my order and drove off. A few of the items were completely wrong. Causing me to go back and fix the error myself. The staff have to-do better, they just need to find it. Please make sure that all drive up and go orders are accurate before releasing items to the customers. and not giving someone else's order out. You can easily kill an hour or two here just window shopping or actual shopping. Imagine the kinda fun you can have with kids in tow. Just make sure yo have an idea of what you want and not rely on staff for help. It's hit or miss on how it will affect your experience. read more

I grew up in Redwood City and have shopped at this location for many years. However, I don't visit as often as I used to because it well...doesn't bring in the best clientele. Today, while passing through the area, I stopped in to look for boots for my daughter. While browsing in the girls' shoe section, I noticed a man with a coffee cup, no basket or cart, who was repeatedly pacing the aisle and watching me without selecting any merchandise. He continued walking past me several times, said excuse me one of those times looked me dead in the eye when he said it , would go to the end of the aisle or pretend to browse on the other side while peeking around the corner at me. It was downright creepy and uncomfortable! However, this was not just some random creep, he was very obviously a secret shopper and employee of Target. I did not find what I was looking for so as I was leaving the store, I noticed he was again watching me exit intently! I get it Target, you are concerned about security and loss prevention, however, tell your secret shoppers to try to keep themselves less obvious and more secretive because the interaction (if you can even call it that) was just flat out unsettling. When you enter the store at this location, and you walk towards the produce area, on the right hand side near aisle B43 there is a dip in the floor caused by a cap of some sort on the floor. That location is unstable and for anyone with balance issues it can cause a fall. I reported it to a clerk in the produce area around 5 PM and they ignored me. I came back and told the clerk that this is a serious issue for people with balance issues and he looked at it. I'm not sure what target will do, but if you're in the store, be aware of that location. read more

the service is always slow and a sir they don't see you. they don't Value their customers when asking question or guidance. today 2/10/25 I was at isle N6 where theres baby formula locked up, I touched the alarm sensor to notify an employee and as I did that there girl employees were just chatting it up and I asked one of them if they have anyone with a key and she arrogantly said someone will come! calm down! as she was walking away in a mean laughter way writhe the other two employee I was able to get the employee name that spoke to me rudely, her name is Tere. this incident was around 1:15-1:30pm. This is a good store, but I hate the games Target plays between in-store purchases and online purchases. I needed some batteries so I did a quick Google search which revealed Target had a good price. But when I got to the store I found the store price to be 40% higher than if I made an online order first and picked them up at the same store later. So instead of buying in.person at the higher price or ordering online and coming back two hours later for pick-up, I ordered them from Amazon and will have them delivered tomorrow for the same price as Targets online price. read more

November 14th 2024 I was followed around by one of the associates partners (Victoria Stout's Girlfriend) because she was ordered to by Victoria (Via) to make sure I "left the store" ?!?! I'm not sure why it matters if I'm in the store or not when I'm with a friend looking at hair products, she had passed our isle 4-5 times because we were comparing prices and quality (can be checked on cameras) it's made us COMPLETELY UNCOMFORTABLE and it's completely unreasonable why *I* have to be followed around the store when I'm minding my own business not hurting anybody, she continues to follow me and my friend to the self checkout until I stop and stare and confront her and she walks away with a different associate (Cole), please do something about this Via person she's making not only me but other people feel uncomfortable and unsafe in a store where I'm trying to spend money. read more

Update since it's been awhile. I like that the Target has been kept updated still over the last few years. The interior still feels generally modern. I also recently had a problem where I was sold a defective ink cartridge and I went back the same day to ask for a return. I explained what happened and they processed the return no questions. Super cool. One of the side roads to get into Target is a little small and claustrophobic with all the parked cars and everyone trying to go in and out of the parking lot but we manage. You can also go in via El Camino (where there is a light) so that's another way to get in! read more

NOT Customer-friendly I used to like coming here, no more. In the past 1-2 years the customer service has been pitiful, the employees don't care or try. Inventory system - don't rely on the online inventory system on their website, it is INACCURATE and unreliable. You go to the store and expect to find the product but there's none. Even when you ask a worker to use their handheld scanner it's a joke, they admittedly tell you it's inaccurate. Wtf it's the 21st century! Location - sketch neighborhood and the parking lot has homeless people living in the lot and on the street right by the store. Security guard by the door but doubt he deters any thieves. They boarded up the store when they were worried about rioters. Self-service: pray you don't need help cause the workers who are stationed there just want you to get outta there. Don't expect to hear any politeness or a "thank you", it's not in their vocabulary. Customer service counter - more of the same. I returned an item 2 months ago and the lazy girl worker gave me a gift card instead of credit to my credit card. Well, yesterday I tried to use the gift card and it has ZERO DOLLARS on it. Inventory is on one half of the store, I spent 30 minutes trying to find the feminine section and it was on the other side of the store near the garden area. I waited over 10 minutes to get my second drink at Starbucks because the employee kept saying I don't know how to make that drink and kept walking away. It was extremely disappointing when the East Palo Alto Target store closed a couple of months ago forcing members of the community to shop elsewhere as a result of the closure. I had the disappointing opportunity to visit the Redwood City Target earlier this evening and a couple of observations: several areas of the store were a complete mess and that is putting things lightly: clothes everywhere, shoes all over the floor and no staff in sight to tidy things up. Really? The purpose of my visit was to pick up a cell phone that I had ordered online through Target.com. This is the second time I have ordered a phone via their website in the last few months. On both occasions, fellow shoppers need to know that technical staff to support the purchase are nowhere to be found. Why offer a $30 discount on the purchase of a phone when you're not able to satisfy the requirement to assist customers with opening an account. Target, you can do better, but for both of my visits, you deserve a grade of no better than a D and that's being kind. And if you're looking for those really hard to find items like split pea soup, sourdough bread and Bigelow's Constant Comet tea you'll need to make the trek down the street to Safeway. read more

Yes this location is pretty gloomy and experience is generally hit or miss (usually meh or miss) but the location is super convenient. I also want to shout out an awesome guy with silver hair who helped us last week at the register, he proactively price matched all items for me. Unfortunately I don't know his name! Back to today - I asked the lady at the register to price match Target.com for a toy. This after my great experience last week and also strolling through the store hearing their advertisement about price matching anything from Target. I had put the item in my app cart for convenience, but for some reason my internet was not working at the register and I could not pull up the online price (this is my bad, thanks a lot ATT). The older lady did not know how to check the online price. She asks the assistant store manager, who comes over and says it's the price listed based on her machine - she was looking up the retail store price. I specifically said the online price. How does a store manager not know how to price match when the store is advertising price match?? How does this establish an expectation for the store clerks to know how to support this? What I'm most upset about is her attitude though - yes she told the lady to just give me a lower price, but she rolled her eyes and overall left me with a really crappy feeling. Went in because all the stores near me showed not having any nintendo switches but this store showed as having both grey and neon blue and red. wasted 2 hours, gas and paid toll just to find out they report fraudulent numbers of their inventory just to get customers through their doors. In case anyone is thinking, "be smart, call ahead to check," I did call before driving there but they said they can't confirm inventory over the phone. This is a good store for people who need high quality stuff and my family loves this store a lot. The clothes are very high quality, but don't last very long. They even have popcorn and slushies inside the Starbucks and the popcorn is so good, but the Starbucks line is a nightmare and the wait time is usually very long. The things are the best and worth the money. The people at Curbside Pickup don't take super long and are very good with their timing. So, what I do recommend is that you do the curbside pickup option if you have so many kids and that would be easier for you. read more

My husband calls 10PM Target-o-clock because it is near impossible to get in without an insane wait these days. We've lived in RWC for 5 years and this one is ok. Pros: Huge parking lot, shared with other businesses that are not all that busy Right close to downtown and heart of RWC Interestingly, most high demand cleaning products seem to be fairly in stock Self-checkout. 'Nough said. Clearly they're being mindful of covid by limiting people entering the store. Great budget section in the front -- awesome cheap sh*t for stuffing goody bags for school! Cons: That line. I drove there right after the last lockdown warning to pick up last minute items and the 50 person line outside was a no brainer to turn around and go home. This was a problem before COVID, but it seems like a lot of things are often out of stock at this Target (aside from the cleaning products mentioned above). Makeup, home decor, clothes, shoes, toys -- we often have to resort to driving out to Foster City's Bridgepoint Target before we're able to find things. Chaotic. Tons of people! (at least before the latest lockdown order). Kind of feel like I need a shower and a covid test after every visit... That said, the tons of people are definitely not staff, lol. Worst neighborhood possible for this Target. It is not the store itself that is the issue, we found everything we needed and were able to quickly get out. However, two teenagers were riding a bike in the middle aisles and harassing the other customers. I reported this to the security guard, but I am not sure if he did anything to follow up. As I was leaving, I was accosted by a homeless person who said he would be waiting for me outside. Thanks, but no thanks! I quickly gathered my family and we got to our car without any further issue. I am a long-time Target customer, and I am writing to share my recent extremely unsatisfactory experience at the Redwood City, CA location. At the Returns counter, I returned two pairs of shoes and was given the option of receiving a refund or a gift card. I chose the gift card, since I needed to get a different size of shoes for my son and planned to do so during the same visit. At checkout, I gave the cashier my gift card, and she also asked me to show her my app. She rang up the entire amount on the barcode associated with my Target card and said that I could not use my gift card, since she had already rung up the whole amount. She told me to go back to the Returns counter, and they could process all of the items as individual returns and ring everything up again using the gift card. When I went to Returns, the employee said that he couldn't process all of the items as individual returns and ring everything up again using the gift card because of Target's "one-day return policy." He told me to "come back tomorrow." I looked online later, and I could not find any policy to this effect. I rarely shop in Target stores and choose instead to shop online, so it is not feasible for me to simply "come back tomorrow." I am a mom juggling a full-time job and family. This is not an acceptable request to make of customers. It is also unacceptable to send customers away on account of a nonexistent (to my knowledge) "policy." I truly hope that this can be addressed with employees at that location. I understand there are stressors related to the pandemic that employees face, but so, too, do customers stopping in after a long day of working trying to have a smooth and quick shopping experience. read more

Of all Target locations within a 20-mi drive, I would suspect this is my least favorite. It's definitely one of the larger locations, so you are more likely to find a good variety of things you are looking for. However, the staff I encounter here are likely some of the least friendly and unapproachable customer service individuals at a Target. If you start a baby registry with Target online, you can go to the customer service front desk and ask for a baby welcome kit that contains multiple samples of baby supplies. And while I understand that the times I've asked, they are not in stock, I often am met with frustrated responses and once even a roll of the eyes. Another time I asked an attendant who was working in the kitchen section where I could find cookie cutters. She proceeded to tell me that I could find it in the bathroom section. I must have looked confused, and reiterated, "the bathroom section?" She then looks at me like I'm mentally challenged, and slowly and condescendingly says a long, drawn out "yessssss". She proceeds to talk to her co-worker in Spanish (which I understand enough of by the way) about how silly she thinks I am to think that she doesn't know where items are placed in the store. I don't think I plan on shopping at this location again in the near future. These few separate encounters were unpleasant enough that I am willing to drive an extra few miles to go to the next Target location for some better customer service interactions. read more

Update: Recently, the curbside pick up has been super fast and reliable. It's a free service and definitely worth it in this pandemic, especially during a surge. They installed a lot of parking spots for it in an obvious place near the front. The most recent time, I was buying birthday gifts for my daughter (for drive up order), and remembered they do grocery stuff, too, so I was able to get all the cake ingredients at the same time and never had to set foot in a store! Prior review: **I have used the curbside pick up a few more times since, and they've greatly improved their efficiency. I've had a few issues with missing items, or not having the order ready when I get there, but they've handled it well--I could easily refund items, and the time when I had to wait for an extra long time, they apologized and gave me a gift card.** read more

My all time favorite Target! I moved to San Francisco & my husband still drives all the way to the Redwood City Target. He refuses to go to any other Target. We lived in Redwood City for 15+ years (until 2021) & always loved this store & felt safe here. Some of the San Francisco Target locations have homeless people in them & peoples cars get broken into in the parking lot. The San Bruno one is just gross - worst Target in the Bay Area. But the Redwood City Target is normally pretty clean, no one is sleeping on the floor of the bathroom, & I don't worry about getting my purse stolen walking to my car - & that is why we drive 30mins to continue shopping at the Redwood City Target store. Caution! They do NOT Practice safe covid -19 strategies . I have seen on three separate occasions guests come in with no face mask ! They just let them in .. they also are not enforcing a six feet distance outside or inside the store . Please avoid this location if you are more at high risk than others ... How to spend 1 hour+ at Target Step 1: Entire the Target store. Step 2: Grab your cart and then shuffle your wear to the concession stand/food area and buy a bag of popcorn and a drink. (optional: If you're with your husband send him off to the electronics) (optional: If you're a teacher browse the $1 bins) Step 3: Lean on your basket and guide it to the clothing. Spend five minutes perusing the regular priced items. Spend five-ten minutes browsing the 75% off clearance, then the 50% off clearance, then the 30% off clearance items. Step 4: Guide your rolling cart to the shoes. Aimlessly try on a few pairs of shoes. Munch your popcorn. After browsing the shoes quickly look over the accessories. (10 minutes) Step 5: Roll your cart to the home decor section. Spend twenty minutes looking at comforters/duvet sets, touch furniture, flip through the canvas art, and looking through the clearance aisles. Step 6: Wonder into the electronics. Look down in your cart...and see the things you "need". Start thinking if you really "need" all of those items. (five minutes) Step 7: Roll down the food aisles. (10-15 minutes) Step 8: End up in the beauty section. Place all kinds of lip stains and E.L.F. products you do not need in the basket. (10 minutes) Step 9: Check out some greeting cards. Step 10: Head to check out, look at some magazines, throw in some Target brand strawberry fruit snacks in the basket. Check out of Target and check in to reality. read more

I always find what I need here. The staff is super helpful. I think it's understaffed, but they try their best. Today I went to get some stuff and only took a basket. When I got to electronics, I realize that the items I wanted to get were bigger than I thought. The staff member in electronics helped me get a cart. I've had other staff members help me find what I need and offer advice. For example, the cashier saw that I was purchasing toys and recommended I use a coupon on the Target app saving me $25. He was so nice and very friendly. I generally have a really great experience here. read more
