Came in and bought a bunk bed for my sons. We were happy with the selection and when it arrived, we noticed that the wood pieces seemed very cheap. We took our chances and had our boys sleep there. One month into owning this bunkbed, the bottom bed frame broke literally cracked right down the middle of the wood. Went to the store and showed video and pictures of the broken piece and supposedly they submitted a claim, a replacement piece was to come. Now I am going back-and-forth with the worker and haven't gotten an update for a week. I literally had to call and ask for a status and apparently the manager won't be back until Monday morning now my sons have to sleep on the couch another weekend. When I first called to let them know about the situation, the representative had the audacity to ask me if my kids are jumping on the bed and how much they weigh? First of all bunkbeds are meant for kids. They should be built to withstand many years if meant for kids. Second of all my kids are three and 12 they are not full size adults. We bought an Ashely furniture loveseat here 1 1/2 years ago and the couch has completely fallen apart already! It is just my boyfriend and I, no kids or animals. So it's not like it has had excessive use. There are nails coming out from the seat that stab you in the back every time you sit down. I am so disappointed in the quality of furniture from this store. It was $500 for the loveseat and an extra $50 for delivery (that took a week and a half to arrive). If you've done your research, you will definitely find some of the same stuff in every furniture store. If you like something out of a catalog, you can order it here for probably the best price. This store flanks both sides of the Ross. The side on the left (when facing the outside of Ross) has most of the bedroom sets, tables, dressers, couches, tv stands, etc. The side of the right has more leather goods and some more dining tables, bed sets and stuff. We were driving down Industrial after striking out at other nearby businesses looking for furniture when we noticed the furniture outlet and decided to wander inside and scope it out. I am so glad we did because I ended up finding the perfect kitchen table set for an awkward sized narrow small space. We were approached by a friendly salesman upon entering who showed us all the available options in store for our dimensions. I never thought that I would choose a table set that included a bench (and three chairs) but it was actually comfortable. We looked through the catalog to see other products but decided the table set at the store was the best option. The price was extremely reasonable for solid wood chairs and a table with wood veneer (hooray no particle board!). Our salesman offered us the option to pick up in store or have it delivered for a reasonable price. We ultimately chose to pick it up at the store three days later and paid a very reasonable price to have it assembled. I knocked off one star because when it was picked up our original salesman was not present and the other employee kept asking for payment for assembly even though we had already paid during our original visit and that was noted on our receipt. read more

We had an amazing experience here. Kai helped us so much! My bf and I couldn't decide on a sectional, Kai mediated and helped us select the perfect sectional. Fast forward to a month later and the freaking sectional won't fit through our apartment doorway. Kai takes it back for no additional charge, lets us pick out a new smaller sectional and gives us store credit for the difference, I can't think of any other store that would let you do that. This spot has high quality furniture at affordable pricing; I purchased a sectional sofa from this store 5 years ago, and they threw in a discount and free delivery, which was easy to arrange with the store. The sofa arrived in perfect condition and was a great deal (and super comfy) compared with anything else we'd found at the numerous other furniture stores we'd checked along the peninsula. Came back today (in 2021) to purchase dining chairs to go with a dining table we'd gotten from IKEA- IKEA is out of a ton of their selections due to supply chain issues and as soon as we came to the Furniture Outlet, we found ourselves wishing we had remembered about the store before we had gotten our table! The dining sets they had were all of by far superior quality and at better pricing than what we had been looking at at IKEA. We found some chairs that worked perfectly with the table we'd gotten (were more sturdy and nicer quality than what we had originally been looking for), and they even threw in a discount. Great customer service and really nice furniture. If we ever want to upgrade our sofa to a sleeper unit, we will definitely be returning here since they seem to have a large assortment to choose from, as well! read more

SO frustrated with this business right now. We purchased two sofas and a coffee table from them in February 2014. They were delivered as promised, and the large couch and the coffee table were assembled and placed in our house. However, the smaller sofa, a full size sofa bed, would not fit through the door into the room we wanted it without removal of part of the door frame so we told the delivery men to leave it and we would removed the frame ourselves and get the sofa in the room later. Once we got the sofa into the room, we opened it up to see how the bed looked and were extremely disappointed. The metal frame looked as though it were made of used parts. It was corroded and rusty in places, and the springs and hooks were mismatched and missing in some places. We tried to lay it out to see if it would work and it wouldn't lie flat. I probably would have just let the weird used metal frame slide if it had actually functioned, but it was totally useless to me in this state. I took some pictures and went to the store the next day to show the salesman, same one who sold us the furniture. I described to him that the frame looked used, which he denied at first. When I showed him the pictures he asked if he could send someone over to look at it. I agreed, and we set an appointment for the next Friday between 4-6. Come Friday, I waited at home from 4-6:30 before finally getting fed up. I left the house to go to dinner, and got a phone call at about 7pm asking if it was too late to come by now. I told him no and he said I would have to call the store and reschedule. I rescheduled, for the next Thursday, but had to call and cancel due to a work emergency. They said they would call me back and reschedule, which they did, for the next Tuesday, which is today. I went home and waited again. The window was from 4-6pm. At 6:20 I called the store. He told me to wait and he would call the driver. The driver called me at 6:30 to ask for my address and to tell me he would be there in 15 minutes. One would think he would have that information already, but I guess not. He showed up at 6:45 and removed the broken sofa from my house. So now, I have no idea what they are doing. I guess they are bringing me another sofa this weekend? I don't know why they didn't bring it with them this time. I explained to them that I had a guest coming to town and I needed this sofa for them. I am so pissed off about the entire thing right now but feel completely stuck. I had a pleasant enough experience in the store, but this whole used couch thing and the "sorry we are busy" excuse of being almost an hour late EACH time they were supposed to come take care of this crap makes me think they are giving me the runaround. Looking for furniture, we stumbled upon Furniture Outlet in San Carlos. At first, we had an excellent interaction with the staff. They were courteous and helped us look through furniture in their store. We purchased a couch that required 2 weeks to deliver and an assembly-required shoe cabinet. The shoe cabinet was not available for immediate pick up and needed 2 days to be delivered from the warehouse. After picking up the shoe cabinet and assembling it, we noticed that the quality of the piece was poor. The doors were misaligned, the door hinges were pegs that were placed into the top and bottom of the cabinet--not actual hinges, and the particle board was chipped in several places. Thankfully, we were able to return the piece and received a full refund. However, while trying to get the couch delivered, the available delivery dates were very inflexible. We were forced to schedule a date 1 month from the purchase of the couch. We tried to work with the staff at Furniture Outlet to reschedule a date and time, but they did not have any options available. We were told it was our fault by the staff and that we were not the President to receive special treatment for delivery dates and times. When voicing our disappointment that the couch would be arriving a month after purchase, we were called inflexible and told that we should be disappointed in ourselves. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Furniture Outlet for further purchases. read more

I was ready to purchase it, really I was. I rubbed one of the seams of the dresser and it turned into a little bit of dust, chalk like, no big deal right? Yep - good quality furniture at very reasonable prices. The best way I can describe it is that they have "real" furniture which makes IKEA stuff look like fake / stage props. Seeing as it's assembled and all, they cost a little more than IKEA (though they're open for bargaining in my experience), but it is soooo worth it. I bought 2 sofas and a bed here when I started furnishing my own place and it is my favorite furniture purchase ever - I'm still constantly getting compliments on how great the sofas are 5 years later. After shopping around at Pier 1 (cheap quality, expensive for what it was), Pottery Barn (dare to dream) and Macys (holy 80's!), this was totally unexpected. Bought a sectional sofa here, paid too much for it and just a couple months later the "fake leather" on the arm of the sofa is cracked very badly, the cushions have flattened, and the wood frame has cracked twice! I used to love this store until my recent purchase. My husband and I, after many months of searching, decided to order our new coffee table and end table set from here. We had previously ordered a couch and were pleased with the quality (although it came in much later than we were told). We went ahead and ordered the coffee and end tables. After we brought them home, the tables looked great. However, after about a week we noticed that the drawer of the end table would no longer open at all and the coffee table had a large crack going down the side. We hadn't in any way damaged these tables ourselves (just us, no kids etc in the house) so it leads me to believe that the quality of the wood used is very poor. They were advertised as being solid oak tables. At this point I would really like either a new set of tables sent at no cost or a refund, but the employees NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE at the store! No voicemail or anything, just ring ring ring. Since I am unable to speak with anyone at the store I'm not sure what we will do now. All in all, this experience was very bad and I would warn others about shopping here-- yes it is cheaper, but the service is extremely poor and the furniture quality is falsely advertised. read more
