I ordered a Walnut Live-Edge Wood Desk with a drawer. The drawer is held together with hardware that I had never seen before. It did not include any assembly instructions. I contacted MWS and requested assembly instructions. They emailed 2 pages of "Installation Drawings" which was helpful. During assembly, I discovered that some of the screws which they provided are the incorrect size. I contacted MWS a second time to request the correct screws. To my surprise, they asked me to count the number of screws which I received.... The problem is not the quantity, they sent the wrong screws. This issue has not been resolved. The desk was $623.99 and they are hassling me for 4 screws. I will probably visit a hardware store to get what I need. read more

We love our custom reclaimed wood dining table and bench from Modern Wood Style! We had been looking for a dining table for a long time, but never found one we loved in any of the retail shops. After reading these Yelp reviews, we visited Modern Wood Style and decided to commission one from scratch. Michael and the MWS team walked us through the various options of wood type, stain color, thickness, leg choices, etc. We finally decided upon reclaimed beams to achieve a thicker table (2.5") with black metal legs. The table was done within 2 weeks, however, once we saw it in person, we realized the grain of the Douglas fir was too bold for our tastes. Michael wanted us to be happy with our table, so he cut the beams into smaller sections to make the bold pattern less apparent. We are so pleased with how the final product turned out! Hello, This is an overdue review, but better late than never. I was looking for a new conference table for our new office and found Modern Wood Style. I emailed originally to obtain and estimate on a 10' conference table. We have a narrow conference room so I needed something in a slimmer dimension. Anastasia responded within a hour and was quick and very responsive. We went back and forth on stain, style and dimensions and she was very patient with my questions. Her professionalism was above expectations. The conference table took about a week to manufacture and it really was sleek and a show stopper. I went to many other office furniture stores and this was by far a superior quality table. I love the look of the reclaimed wood and has so much more character than the usual ho hum office conference table. It was a little more than our budget but it was definitely worth it. My only critique is that the delivery day changed without notice but we were flexible on our timing so it didn't matter as much. It was still a very quick turnaround. Stay away from this business at all costs. They misrepresented nearly every term of their sale that they agreed to with a recent California office. Background of facts: We found their product on a local craigslist add where the business was pretending to be a local business, then baiting consumers as a lead generation mechanism to purchase from their real location far away. After aggressive sales tactics from their fake craigslist lead generation We decided to give them a shot and spent nearly $1,500 on two stand up desks. We decided to make the purchase on Dec 22nd 2020 because the seller represented false facts stating " I will ship it out tomorrow and it could take up to three days for delivery." After the company got our money they waited to ship it until the 29th. We confirmed the products that were promised to be shipped on the 22nd were still in their possession on the 29th. We decided to look beyond this companies lies and deception because at this point we were trying to cut our losses and get the two desks that were falsely represented from the beginning. The final stray was on Dec 31st When the vendor sent us a text confirming we would receive our two desks today. We confirmed with the company it was all lies and the product wasn't even being shipped. So far as we can tell they are still being held by a company they are working with who they say "they can't control" even though they hired them. Now it seems the products will not be delivered till another wasted week (and we have some concerns that they will try to cancel the shipping last minute and take our money.) Consumers beware of this scam company. Our experience has been nothing but disappointing. read more
