my Thoughts on Target are mixed, but i was in the area and realized that Target should stock Hair Spray. not far from the entrance were cosmetics, and a wide range of hair products. unlike Safeway, Walgreens, the products offered were easy to evaluate, and pricing was realistic. I noted this in Texas when visiting family that Target does a nice job merchandising cosmetics, and related stock It's good to see that extends to Stonestown. Opted for the self Checkout, just entered my code, scanned, and bagged, it was very simple. parking was easy and my experience was pleasant. That said i found the bins of goods near the entrance, and prepared food placed in wall cubbies to be questionable, but then again that's not why I stepped into Target. read more

There were so many shoppers inside checkout lines were snaking down the aisles. I was glad to pick up an online order for frozen turkey breasts, pre-paid so we could be on our way. Service was quick and polite. Got a great deal on their Good & Gather brand frozen turkey breast, possible if you jump after Thanksgiving (and maybe after Christmas?) you can get a deal. I'll take anything I can feeding this swimmer of mine! As I was walking out of the store I noticed Target has a very large display of E.L.F. makeup. Stonestown is my favorite mall. I've been to Stonestown since I was a teenager. The Target at this location is incredibly convenient. You can park your car in the underground level, and it's directly connected to the store. I recently purchased a PS5 online and chose to pick it up at this Target. I simply showed them the barcode, and I was in and out within five minutes. I haven't had a bad experience. read more

Great shopping experience. Been a few times and convenient to Trader Joes and almost any other thing you might want. Layout is a bit strange - it looks like two buildings that are connected with some walkways and ramps - and anything like that easily confuses me. Thankfully its not that big that I got lost but I did circle a couple times and couldn't find things intuitively. Got some coffee and pet food stuff and even produce - how strange. That is the world we live in - you can even probably get away without going to a regular supermarket if you have this near. Checkout was great - the person working at the register was very quick and knew how to deal with an unusual online gift card. I have no idea why I walked in - but left with a bunch of stuff that I need including this beachside crunch - party mix that my furry four legged friend just loves. read more

Going to Target in San Francisco differs from any other Target stores in the area. Target in San Francisco has always been a target for Boosters operations which at one point in time had this Target and others in San Francisco reducing and ruining the store hours for families and individuals by closing early. Now Target has it somewhat under control at the Stonestown location. The Target is still haunted by creeps inside but this time for Halloween costumes and other Halloween items during the Halloween season ( it's Halloween in San Francisco every day all day and night). You can find many Halloween items here for sale like candy, cards, and Halloween decor. The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are on deck and items are already on sale months in advance just in case you forget. They also sell games here along with many other items like Stanley Cups ( they sold out again). It seems there is more booze than food at this Target location and it's hidden inside the Target from both the entrance and exits. There is beer, hard seltzers , and wine available (good to know since none of the restaurants in the mall serves alcohol). Bought some chia seeds that Target subsequently recalled for salmonella poisoning. I called Target customer service and was told to bring the item back to Target, even though I paid cash and didn't have the receipt anymore. "It's a recall - not a return! No questions asked!", I was told. I wasted over an hour in the Stonestown Target today. "No receipt, paid cash - no refund." The exact opposite of what I was told by customer service. I left the item on the counter and walked out of the store with no reimbursement for having been sold tainted goods. I called customer service again, who offered to look for a receipt for the item I no longer had in my possession so I could go back into the store and argue some more with the manager. No thanks! I don't know if they treat all their customers like trash or if they decided to single me out for some reason, but I will never shop at Target again read more

I only go there if I have to I've been insulted called names by the staff or the employees because they think that I'm blind, which I am not legally blind I have invisible disability, and I have problems with dry mouth, called Sjogren's syndrome. People don't try to get to know you they just make assumptions that are not true that are hateful so I only go there if I have to I'd rather go to Trader Joe's or another target but this one is shitty. read more

Looks like normal closing hours (10 pm) are finally back. The staff at the store is generally friendly & it offers what I need. Punishing all SF county customers in Spring 2021 (not related to shelter-in-place) was not the way to go. Target has a soft opening of its store expansion into the Stonestown Galleria. It opened this past Monday 4/18/21 taking over Nordstrom department store's ground level. Today my daughter & I entered from the indoor mall entrance. There are several self checkout stations right at the entrance/exit. As we walked around we noticed the grocery section was stocked with other shelves throughout the store yellowed tape still. The entrance/exit to the former Nordstrom parking garage seemed opened. Not sure though. And you can still access the former entrance/exit on the Winston Drive. I can't wait for the complete Target expansion. It'll save me a trip to its 280 Metro store. read more

I really like this Target! Yeah, it is not that complete, but it is enough for most of the things I buy, and it is more than enough. I like the location, the size of the store, the selections, and the customer service. The workers (especially cashiers, and in the return/exchange dept.), are courteous, helpful, and professional. I always have a good interaction with them. Why did I only give 4 stars? The restroom needs some TLC. Everytime I use it, it is not clean and sometimes there is no toilet paper, and definitely no seat covers. It seems that the restroom is "abandoned". read more

I see why this Target has such bad reviews. If you don't like people, do not come here. There were a lot of people. It has a confusing layout, there are columns in the middle of aisles, some rows are going all different directions, and it's hard to find what you want. Good news: This target has expanded in the last 4 years, it used to be very small but now connects into the stonestown mall. There are self check out and cashiers all all exits Both on the Trader Joe's side and the mall side. Some of the items are not racked in the right spot so double check that the item matches the tag or you're in for a surprise at checkout. There is a huge selection of items. And there's even a large section dedicated to hygiene and beauty. read more

What's up with the weird reviews? This place is a paradise compared to downtown San Francisco Target. The cosmetic and sundries department is great. They do have some things locked up like liquid detergent but nothing like downtown. It's normal at Stonestown Target. This review is for the Starbucks inside this Target. I ordered a medium (Grande) size Iced Latte with strawberry purée. I was never charged for strawberry purée at this store or at other Starbucks before. This time the Asian female cashier charged me total $7.35. I usually ordered the same thing for $5.35. She charged me $1.35 for the purée. I asked why she didn't tell me about the charge. I let it go about the charge for the purée and then I realized that they also overcharged me $1 extra for the grande latte. I asked why the difference and they said it was price increase. I asked why the price wasn't updated on the in store menu board. The other barista he said it was recently. I found out later that there was no price increase for Starbucks! So dishonest. The Asian female cashier was rude and unprofessional. In the past, I had seen her touched and tied her hair in the prep area without washing her hands afterward when she was making drinks. read more

I tried to buy a small ice chest. Found a cloth one for $24.99. Walked around the corner and 3 igloos sitting next to each other. I left the cloth one over the price of the one I picked $19.99. The middle one has no price on the shelf and the left one $19.99. A young manager wen back took awhile came back to the register and said $34.99. I said oh no I'll show you where I found them. I don't know what it is about this Target store that I hate so much, maybe just the fact that it was a very nice Nordstrom department store for so long and just like everything else about Stonestown back in its glory days; which was just a few years ago has all turned to sh-- The funny thing is that in my first review of this store, my big complaint was how it's such a small store and now I actually miss that smaller version after its expansion. Just a big store but without the welcoming feeling of a big Target with the smell of buttered popcorn in the air when you walk in. Just a very cold and sterile feeling about it. They have some TV's up on the wall, but none of them are plugged into anything to give the electronics department a nice lively feeling either. there is a slope walking from where the smaller Target was and the space where Nordstrom used to be. The Customer service desks are way in the back of the store and nothing planed out or configured very well. Not enough Refridgerated aisle's, so a very small selection of items, Everything I need is all spread out throughout the store and they don't carry any Christmas or Holiday lawn decorations like Reindeers and other festive lawn decorations. Try walking from the parking lot to the sidewalk to the store! crowded with a bunch of people almost bumping into you! Feels like walking around downtown Manhattan. I love the Target Greatland store in Colma but just don't like this Target at all though. read more

I am impress how big Target has become. It took over the space that was Normstrom. Now people who parked at the parking garage can come inside from there. I recently visit this location. I can't believe within a year since Normstroms closed down Target took over their space and I would not had expected how big it became. You can now access through the mall. Now I don't have to go to Colma or Serremonte for Target. San Francisco State University has a Target to go to between classes. read more

I was there today as the sign lost its TAR and became strictly GET. Yes, this little (well, medium) Target is closing any day now. Their shelves are emptying out fast, and things are moving to the new (former Nordstrom) location. Without fail, they had everything I needed, except during the initial Covid insanity, when we normally practical people of SF went crazy buying soap, toilet paper, bleach, paper towels, baby wipes, and all sorts of things that made absolutely no difference at all to preventing Covid and surviving the pandemic. And that's not Target's fault. Blame that on us suddenly becoming really stupid people. Will look forward to seeing how they re-do the old Nordstrom store. 30 years ago, nobody would have believed you if you said that Stonestown would go from having two big and nice department stores (Emporium and Liberty House; later Macy's and Nordstrom) to a supermarket (Whole Foods) and a discount retailer (Target). Terrible service is an understatement. I Placed a pickup order for my son to grab on his way home. My paid for Order was refused to him. I already am familiar with their policy. He went w the pickup barcode and the lady said he needed his name to be attached to the order (which it was ) and be able to show and id which he could have done had she asked. Apparently according to my son she looked like she was too busy flirting w a male coworker and didnt seem like she wanted to help him. I called and asked what their pickup policy was (since I already knew) and the lady that answered said the barcode should have been fine and stated my sons name. Go figure. What brain surgeon decided to put lock mechanisms on the Target Stonestown shopping carts?? What an idiotic thing to do. First of all, parking in Stonestown can be extremely difficult especially any where close to Target. I usually have to park at the other end of the lot past Trader Joes. I've been a customer since this location opened up. My cart was loaded with groceries today and it locked outside the Target entrance!! This caused me a great deal of stress. I will no longer shop at this Target location. The person who decided to do this should be fired! You just lost a customer who spends a great deal of money at this store. read more

If you are interested in using the fitting rooms I would not go to this location. An extremely rude and unhelpful employee told me that all of the dressing rooms were occupied when there wasn't a soul to be seen. Like other reviewers have said the employees here are not helpful or interested in doing their jobs. It seems like they hate it there. Never going back to this location. read more

This target is pretty compact and smaller compared to other targets you'll find in the Bay Area. It has all the basic necessities from snacks to electronics. However, the selection and variety of products is pretty limited. If you're looking for something specific, I would double check the website first and see if this location has what you're looking for. Alternatively, you can also call into the store to check before coming. The parking outside can be pretty hectic, so save yourself a trip by making sure this location has what you need. Inside the store is relatively clean and bright. The bathroom area is pretty limited and located in an odd section in the back of the store. 2.5 stars. Customer service is either amazing or terrible, nothing in between. I go out of my way to avoid shopping in the store but sometimes you need to see something in person before buying. The store is huge, which isn't a plus for me. The store sections have labels but they're not always easy to see .. And seemingly there is no section F, despite what the app says. I was looking for it and I overheard others looking for it too. I asked a couple of employees but neither of them knew(!) The parking garage is a frustrating experience too, as there aren't any elevators, so if you're buying heavy items and shopping alone, you're gonna be rolling your cart up/down floors.
