"Great place to shop!" The prices are excellent. The ample free unlimited parking is a big plus. The quality of goods is above par. Selection and variety of products is very good. They are open 7 days a week, early and late. Many factors can not be controlled: "How rude or misbehaved your guest shoppers will be". But honestly, I can not fault the poor business... for they are in essence the victim of such mal adapted individuals. Target is reliable: I walk in a suburban soccer mom knockoff and out with my misanthropy and self-loathing recharged to teen levels. On one hand, I marvel at all the pretty, low price goods. On the other, I marvel at my ability to compartmentalize the knowledge of the human rights and environmental abuses that inevitably allow the creation and sale of these goods. I don't know how much a conscience costs but a new garden hose with matching gloves and clippers can be had for roughly $30, which is probably the average monthly salary of a person in one of the factories making those items. You're probably better off spending that thirty on antidepressants (hope you have health insurance!) and a bottle of whisky. read more

This is the worst Target in the area. It's like everyone here leaves their brain and manners at the door. People run into you even when you have a stroller, no spatial awareness, the shelves are always missing things, the workers aren't really helpful, and it's just a stress trip every time. Can barely even give them two stars any more. Aside from stocking the shelves and refrigerators/freezers, and promptly filling some online orders, it's a real shit show in there. Finding any one particular item is a crap shoot. Lines at checkout are long and sometimes winding, and they NEVER have a enough cashiers. Even the self-check lines are long and meandering, and you know those aren't gonna run smoothly. Many of the cashiers appear to have zombie-like tendencies due to lack of sleep, personal issues, or dining on brains. Last time I was there a staffer came out of the woodwork to man a register but for some reason, rather than scanning the barcode on the bunch of bananas I bought, entered a code manually. I thought it was odd that two pairs of jeans and some food items added up to $150+ and checked the receipt. I HAD BEEN CHARGED $69.50 FOR TWO (2) POUNDS OF BANANAS!!! Needless to say I went straight to customer service for a refund. Avoid this store and drive to the one in Marina, which is cleaner and more efficiently run. read more

Placed an order online, paid for it, and 48 hours later, received a notification that my order was canceled. This, after the order was delayed and then arrived early, I was unable to pick it up until today. Chat with customer service, explained the situation, 12 minutes later, Michele comes back with "your order has been canceled as it was delivered over 2 days ago". Um, why yes, I'm contacting you to stop it from being returned or placed on the floor for sale. "We don't have outgoing telephones." I call and the order had been restocked. So, a monumental waste of time for an item that I was really looking forward to wearing. I gave an additional star for the kindness of the customer service rep. Expect more? Rude girls working behind the counter like it's a inconvenience to help a customer and then argue about when a they make a mistake. Then they are to busy gossiping about their lives outside of work. The worse Taget I have ever been too. It was a disaster not clean and no one to be found in the baby section. Needed help with a carseat of course all 3 I wanted not in stock. Asked for a rain check, guest service had no idea what that was. They had to call a manager and she was no help. Most of us are pretty familiar with the Target concept. You can purchase many of the things you'd find in your average department store all at a lower price point and all without having to fight the traffic and parking at the local mall. I shop at Target for electronics, CDs and DVDs, automotive supplies, sporting goods, toys, clothing, books, gift and party supplies, housewares, you name it - I can find it here. I like the convenience of being able to park and walk right in without having to wander through the mall. For some reason I don't get very excited about my Target stores at home (and I'm pretty sure I haven't reviewed any of them) but I get very excited about finding Target stores when I am travelling. I don't know if I'm just a forgetful person or if I pack in too much of a hurry, but it seems like when I reach my travel destination there is always something I've forgotten to put in my suitcase. Most of the time, I can replace any and all missing items at a Target store. Forgot to pack socks, extra t-shirts, bra? No problem. Toothbrush, toothpaste, eyeliner, hair barrettes, facial cleanser? No problem. Cell phone charger? Target has me covered every time. (I now have QUITE a collection of these at home purchased at Targets in several states) And most Target stores are now carrying a variety of grocery items so I can purchase yogurt, pretzels, fresh fruit, anything and everything I can keep in my hotel room to guard against those late night munchies when no restaurants are open. This particular Target came to my aid with hair clips (will my bangs EVER grow out?), ibuprofen, cough drops, and a variety of hotel friendly munchies. It was convenient to and clearly visible from the freeway, important since I am not from around here, and their employees were friendly. I also like that every Target is laid out basically the same so that I can quickly find whatever I need no matter where in the country I am. Yay for Target! read more

I went to get my first covid vaccine shot on Friday June 4th 2021 and the girl who gave me the shot, didn't know what she was doing. I don't like to leave negative reviews but I have to leave this one. The young Asian girl who gave me the shot cleaned down the area before I sat down which was good but, once I sat down for the shot, she kept the needle in my arm for almost one minute. Why? What was she doing for that long? By the way, this is not a review against a girl or an Asian person. I just want to identify the person who gave me the shot because I don't know her name. I won't be returning to this store for my second shot. They didn't know what they were doing and it made this experience harder for me as I don't like needles to begin with. Having watched a friend get his shot earlier in the week, I thought the whole experience would take less than ten seconds. VERY disappointed. read more

One of the best stores in Monterey, it is also close to a lot of other stores in the area. I love the 1 to 3 dollar zone, and I love their sales. I also have the red card which I recommend for Target shoppers because it helps you to save 5%. This location is always clean and well kept, I always find what I need here and sometimes they have amazing deals on electronics. read more

Me and my boyfriend were shopping at target 30 mins before closing. We get that they are going to close soon we both work in customer service. But never have I experience someone kicking me out of the store like how the lady in the clothing department did she was short Asian I believe, not trying to stereotype but that's my best guess. Anyways this is my second encounter with this lady and she did the same thing as last time she said the store is closed when it was 9:55 like if they don't announce that in the speaker but this time she stood over my boyfriend I waited to see what she would say not one word so I asked are you the manager? she said no and I said okay well can I help you? she said the store closed. Again the time was 9:55 and my boyfriend told her will can you leave, you are making me feel uncomfortable with you over me, can I shop in peace please? She said no the store is closed I'm going to follow you to the register, and I said I'm going to speak to the manager because this is the second encounter we've had with you and I don't know if she called in security with her walkie-talkie but another employee from the clothing department came standing next to us like if she was going to do something she was a teenage girl with black or brown hair and that's when the security guard came it was a young boy with curly hair like if me and my boyfriend were acting a way to call security on us. I started to walk because that was so unnecessary so instead of escalating the situation more because again we both work customer service and the fact that I'm the one thinking of not escalating more the situation instead of the workers says a lot about the night crew anyways once we started to walk to the front of the register she literally followed us behind like whattttt that's so crazy to me! After we payed I asked for a manager and I told her if the workers are supposed to kick you out before closing and she said no they're only supposed to tell you that we are going to close and I told her what the worker did and she said I'll talk to her but again this is the second time she's done this to us and just a talk isn't going to do anything I've been coming to this target my entire life and it's really sad to feel uncomfortable with a childhood store if any other manager sees this review please contact me further if you are going to do something about it! I visited this Target a couple of days ago and thought it was really nice. The inside is very dark though and so was the ground, but it was clean. I was about to buy a cooling pillow and had trouble at the self checkout, one of employees noticed I was having trouble and decided to help me figure it out. That is some good customer service and she explained it was a recalled product, which I thought it was weird but it wasn't a big deal (it was one of those should I buy it or not buy kind of thing). Other than that, if you are from out of town and want to go to Target, this is a good location and customer service was excellent. read more

Always has anything you need and everything that you don't. Love the way that they now have the clearanced clothes all in one section. Just got a great new pair of jeans for $12. I heart the target. What can you say about Target that hasn't already been said? This one isn't so great, and that's partly because of the clientele. Some of them are--let's face it--slobs who leave clothes on the floor, suddenly-unwanted merchandise on whatever shelf happens to be nearby, and even garbage here and there. Some of them let their unruly children run wild. This is especially true if they're blathering on their cell phones. Not Target's fault, but part of the ambience nonetheless. The clerks are hit-or-miss. I've had some good ones, and a couple of great ones (like Dakota--he's so friendly and nice!), but many are just going through the motions, and some have been downright unprofessional. What I find particularly unappealing are the ones with visible tattoos and freakshow piercings (like those repulsive stretched earlobes). Doesn't the management realize that the clerks on the floor are the face of the company? Do they really want to project such a foul image? Or is this the best they can do, because all the decent-looking people get better jobs elsewhere? A lot of the merchandise is cheap ¢r@p made in China--but you knew that. Even so, you can find some things made in America, which I always like. On the plus side, their kids' clothes are reasonably priced and of adequate quality to last through at least one child. The (relatively) new food mart has a variety of grub and decent prices. The restrooms are almost always clean and graffiti-free. The men's room has a changing table (thank you!). So it's Target--not the nicest one you'll find, but probably not the worst, either. read more

The parking lot is a little rough, but no worse than most Targets that I have been to. The real issue is that it serves so many areas that it is just a busy place. It's clean and does it's job, nothing spectacular going on though. It would be a 4 if it was not so busy. But what sane businessperson would avoid that situation? read more

This particular Target isn't as good as it gets. I love Target. I will always shop there. But the Seaside Target is always picked over, messy, and usually very busy. The staff is friendly and helpful, but there's only so much they can do with how crowded the store always is. If you are looking for a Target that is cleaner and not picked over, only 5 miles north is the Marina target. Especially around the holidays, I drive the extra miles just so I know that I can get what I'm looking for. read more

Target Corporate must read these reviews. I've been going to this Target since it has opened. My friends and family live in the area and frequent it. I go to Targets wherever I travel (outside the Bay area). There has been such an obvious state of decline in store maintenance and cleanliness at this Target location. It looks dirtier compared to other Target stores and makes many wonder about the standards upheld by this management. Maybe they don't care or have lower standards. Check out the Vista, CA one - what a difference! The floors need to be redone, place needs to be cleaned thoroughly and revamped by replacing old materials, and racks. Areas need to be straightened out. Everytime I go, it looks even older and makes the Target brand seem like it's losing its lustre. It's all in the details! The whole place needs a facelift. Franchise management should take the need to improve its look seriously to uphold Target's image. Is it in part the lack of employees? If so, Target should recruit more workers. The hope is that this Target will return to its original greatness. As for the employees, generally they are friendly and helpful when around. read more

This review is for the store manager. Rodney or Rony. I am not sure how to spell his name since he lost his badge. I needed help to find some things. There were hardly any staff around. I know some staff would know and some wouldn't know anything. It depends on the person. I notice the guy in the red shirt with a walkie talkie. So I asked him if he works there. He does. And he memorized the whole store and exact locations I feel like for everything. He worked there for several years. That truly amazed me. I know the employees have to know roughly the areas for products and the isle. But everything in detail like the store manager. Amazing. We need more staff and people like him. read more
