Far Niente produces the best white wine I've tasted so I was excited to try their Dolce 2004 dessert wine that I found at Tarzana Wine and Spirits. I generally don't drink dessert wine nor do I spend money on expensive bottles but I know Far Niente doesn't play around so I treated myself to this delicious rare find. It did not disappoint! I sipped it chilled straight and enjoyed all of its glory and if I bought it again I would pair it with pound cake, cheese and grapes or vanilla ice cream. This is a special occasion wine, and I treasure the gorgeous bottle! Tarzana Wine and Spirits is great for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks from all over the world (I once bought RC Cola there) Always nice and helpful staff and good parking. read more

Crazy wide selection of spirits. I was looking for the John Wick Whiskey and they are the only one in LA who had it.

One of the few spots that actually has Cheech & Chong's High Tea. Aside from the huge selection of alcohol in different varieties, this place is clean and well organized. The lady at the counter was super chill, and was attentive to us if we needed anything. We drove from Arcadia just for these drinks, and since we drove almost 40mins, we made sure to browse their extensive inventory. I ended up purchasing two packs of the tea, and I also purchased Dr. Dre & Snoop's Gin & Juice variety pack since we were already there and Tarzana Wine & Spirits had it in stock. Dude.... I walked in on a rainy day just to browse and left with 5 bottles for under $40... granted two of those were minis, but hey still I was so impressed by the prices considering this a local/small business (not a chain)... I can't believe I got a bottle of Tin Cup whiskey for $20... literally the best price ANYWHERE around or LA... they have great deals and promotions here week to week... unfortunately they stopped supplying my favorite brand of vodka (Three Olives) but have an amazing assortment of wines and beers as well and great deals on minis. I usually stop by here to play my luck at the lotto and grab something small or quick for the weekend or just for storing for guest and never fail to find a good deal. They do a lot of free tastings here on Friday and Saturday from time to time... super easy going sales people here... very chill environment. Side Note: Parking is limited as they do share a lot with other neighboring businesses but also additional parking on the street/nearby. I'm usually on foot here as it's near my gym so if you're nearby... walking is probably better. read more

I use to come here all the time and thought it was great until the pandemic. I went in one day and noticed the cashier not wearing a mask. I immediately left and decided to call and ask why they did not follow pandemic protocols (this was prior to the vaccine as well). The man lied to me saying he was wearing a mask despite me seeing the opposite. Recently, I went into the store again to see if things changed. I found another cashier not wearing a mask at all upon entry. When I called again about the issue, I was met with indifference. An excellent inventory of wines at great prices, as well as a nice selection of cigars in their walk-in humidor. Bought some bottles of Italian wine (Luigi Righetti Capitel De' Roari Amarone 2005) for $30/bottle that go for $44/bottle at Monsieur Marcels. I called them to find out if they had a wine I recently tried with a friend...when I asked for the UPC code to have for future reference, the lady gave me a huge sigh, then gave me the last 3 digits and said "was that all?" I said "no, can I have ALL the UPC numbers?" She then went through the numbers so fast and her voice changed again and she became somewhat enraged. I said thank you and she hung up. She didn't ask me if there was anything else she could help me with nor did she ask me if there was another selection I was interested in. Sorry, I shop there for a lot of various wine and spirits, that is just plain rude of the sales/phone staff. I didn't realize asking for information regardless of my intent to buy there or not, was inappropriate. I don't think I'll be going there anymore for anything. Great selection. Stopped by here on my way to a dinner party and needed a last minute gift. Found a great bottle of high end tequila as well as a great bottle of Malbec. Also bought a great box (yes, box) of wine after having tasted boxed wine in Barcelona that was wonderful on taste and quality and stayed fresh for over two weeks! The gifts were both a hit with my host! The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and one nice guy helped me carry my stuff out to my car. Don't come around Tarzana often but if I'm ever in the neighborhood again I'll be sure to stop by. read more

Nice wine selection here however just understand that if a price tag is too good to be true, it probably is. I noticed that some of the lower-priced wine ($8-10) I purchased was far too turned and past its prime.. but that of course was my own risk and also the game of buying and selecting wine. There's a nice collection of old world wine as well a whole aisle dedicated to wine from Chile and Argentina as well as your more mainstream labels. I didn't see as much local wine (Paso, Santa Ynez, etc) as I'd like but nevertheless, there's certainly something for everyone. I also have to comment that the service was great; I was offered assistance in choosing twice (should have taken it) and provided a nice little six-bottle wine bag to carry out my wine for free. Went in this morning to buy a mega lotto ticket. I was in the area, so I thought what a buck can do! Two men greeted me, and asked how they could help. I told him just a lotto ticket please. He rang me up, and I was on my way. Store looked decent, although I didn't price out their booze. I would come back, since customer service is nice, and I like to support my local businesses. He is also very knowledgeable on most of the spirits he sells: wine, scotch, brandy, vodka etc. they have a great selection of champagnes and even saki. Its ok. There's so many other wine locations I would rather go to. I love the woodland hills wine shop and Tarzana W&S seems more like a bevmo compared to them and of course there's the westside Wine House which is great. The owner and staff at this store is nothing like the other stores I go to, so I don't necessarily see the need to come back here. Its really just like a large liquor store with fancy wines, spirits and cigars. But if you just need a quick stop shop, it's convenient and they have a large selection of booze. read more

I live in Mid-City, near Pico and Fairfax, so I usually shop for wine and liquor at K & L or online. But I had to make a trip to Tarzana when I saw on Wine Searcher that they had Yamasaki 12 year. So off we went, and found Lazaro and Simon, who were both super attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. I've been to nearly every fine liquor store from Mission to HiTime, and the customer service here is far beyond any I've ever experienced. The store has everything from your $9.99 bottle to Screaming Eagle, and while not every bottle they have is priced as well as other places in town, they do have some screaming great deals.
