I've tried this place once for lunch and once for dinner. I wasn't impressed with either offering. It's absolutely beautiful inside! It's decorated very tastefully with a flower wall at the entrance that they dress up for the holidays. Service both times I went was good. Both servers were very attentive on both visits. For lunch I ordered the chicken Parmesan. The sauce was flavorful but the chicken was dry! The sauce couldn't save it. The Caesar salad had little flavor as well. For dinner, I got the lobster bisque with stuffed mushrooms. The texture of the bisque was more of a whipped soup which left it airy and there were no visible signs of lobster. Also no taste of lobster either. My filling in the mushrooms tasted like stove top stuffing and not a seafood stuffing. All in all, I don't know if I will go back. read more

Those "chips". OMG is an understatement- the dip is subtle & PERFECT! It's so so so good Dinners? We NEVER choose lasagna in restaurants anymore we are always disappointed. We all hate wasting good, hard earned $$$ & I have never tasted any zag better than mine. Until tonight. I made the exception so I could share with hubby & I am grateful for doing so. It came in its own pan~ it was so freaking yummy. Well, tbh one side was red & one white. Due to having bigger eyes than a stomach - I have yet to try the other white sauce side of it. I don't know if this was due to us getting the food because we were having a private party...but the portion sizes were what you would get normally so....idk. Had to add pepper flakes and then Italian seasoning when I got home to my huge leftovers. Was quite disappointed because it was also pricey...might try again. I was so torn on a 3 or 4 but went with a 4. We made a reservation 1 hour prior to our time. Walked in and were seated quickly. We were seated in a side room which was nice since it's not as noisy as the main dining room. Our server was an absolute delight. Her name is Maddy and she is pleasant and Johnny on the spot. I had a Caesar salad and Mike had romain with spicy ranch. Both salads were very good. The perfect amount of dressing for a traditional Caesar salad. I do wish that the bread they bring to the table was a bit warm I ordered the meatball and marinara with angel hair. Mike ordered the chicken parm with his pasta on the side tossed with vodka cream sauce. In my personal taste, the marinara was too salty. A manager was walking by and very attentive. He noticed I was not eating and stopped by to see why. He was pleasant and asked what could he put a rush in for to replace it. I chose a caprese salad which did not disappoint. Gorgeous heirloom tomato with fresh basil and mozzarella, drizzled with balsamic glaze. Mike's chicken cutlet was fried entirely too long. Very dry. He said his sauces were fine but he love salty. Went in on a Tuesday around 6pm and was seated immediately. Our server (forgot his name) was super nice but honestly everyone we interacted with was super nice and helpful. The restaurant was at a nice volume and I think it's important to mention that it was not super cold inside either. We got our drinks (raspberry drop.. 10/10) and side salads first and it took maybe about 20 mins for our food to come on and it was piping hot! The salmon was absolutely delicious and very soft. The parmesan mashed potatoes were a perfect side. The arancini was pretty good but the balls were fried pretty hard so it was a little too crunchy for me on the outside but overall a good taste. The caesar salads were caesar salads, nothing special there but I will say it came tossed in the perfect amount of dressing so that's a plus! The red fish was nice and buttery as well. Also a plus that both the salmon and red fish came with big pieces so you definitely had enough to eat and share. I have been to Taste twice and had a great experience both times. The first time I got the truffle ravioli and that is what brought me back. It was hard for me not to get that again but I wanted to try the pizza. I tried the pepperoni and added pickled jalapeños. While the pizza was good.... In hindsight I should have skipped the jalapeños. There were a very generous helping of them and they very very spicy! Hubby got the seafood linguini. The basil cream sauce was delicious but there are only three shrimp and we felt five would be better... we will ask if we can add more shrimp for an up charge next time. I really do like this restaurant. My only negative comment is that I wish the seating was more comfortable.... Meaning cushioned instead of seating on a wooden chair..... I will be back again to try something else or get the ravioli again! read more

Despite being a casual place, I felt underdressed in my Walmart clothes. It's fancy in a way I'm not used to where I live. That said, the food was to die for. The bread was a little on the hard side but the risotto was one of the best things I've ever had. Staff were so nice, our server, (Jake I believe?) while being very busy, was so kind and helpful when it came to questions about the menu. The restaurant is beautiful, with lots of photo opportunities. They also make amazing mocktails if you're not a big drinker. I cant remember the name of mine, but amazing. we sat at the bar and began with seasonal cocktails. appetizers of italian salad and meatball. we shared the supreme pizza that had a bounty of toppings. the crust was really good both soft yet crisp. morgan was our server at the bar and was attentive and knowledgeable about drinks and the menu. interior was decorated for Christmas. bar top and chairs were comfortable and offered a generous amount of seats. they do accept reservations and they look to be pretty busy with Christmas diners. overall our drinks and meal were very good. i would like to return and try a different entree to get a better sense of the full menu. read more

The food was great, as always. The coffee is an espresso that is made with a French press - excellent flavor. The Italian Wedding soup was well seasoned. I had a shrimp dish and I thought it was great except I wish they would take the tails off the shrimp before serving. I haven't mastered the art of de-tailing a shrimp that is nestled in angel hair pasta. For dessert my husband shared the lemon cake - so light and refreshing. This was a great meal as we celebrated our 49th anniversary. Tinsley provided excellent service. She was sweet and attentive to our needs, keeping us well supplied with water and serving our food in a timely manner! Great server!!! Ambiance - very good. We were there at 11 and a group of about 8-10 sat near us at a long table. They were a bit loud at times but they were enjoying their fellowship. The music was just a tad too loud but it was tolerable. Overall, this was either our fifth or sixth visit to Taste and we will be back!!! Every visit has been a 5 experience. From the smiling welcoming faces when we entered to great service throughout our time there. Great food as well. Inside is elegantly decorated, very spacious. We can't wait to go back! We tried this place for my mom's 50th birthday. It was overall nice. We got the sampler platter as our app, delicious! At the table, we had vodka rigatoni, chicken Alfredo, shrimp Alfredo, mushroom ravioli, chicken parmigiana, and the ribeye. The mushroom ravioli is loaded with mushrooms (I know we could have guessed this but it was overwhelmingly covered) so it was not a fan favorite. All of the other choices were really good. We were sad that the pizza oven wasn't operational this weekend, we desperately wanted those garlic knots! We also had the Raspberry Drop, very tasty. I visited Taste Italian Kitchen on Saturday Aug 30, at around 6:30 pm The young lady at check in was most off-putting and needs customers service training, My friend asked about sitting at the bar. We were curly told there were 2 seats but not close together. And there was an hour wait. A couple at the bar graciously moved down so we could sit together. The bar tender we had was friendly enough. We told her we would eat at the bar. It took a bit for us to receive menus. I ordered the lobster risotto. The food came fast. And it was so delicious, it basically saved the evening. I did order dessert which was a rainbow chocolate, almond cake. Unfortunately, it had not been thawed long and lacked flavor. I might go again. It's located very near where I work. But, it will be a while. If I'm going to pay $28 for lobster risotto, I expect a little friendliness from the staff. Just saying. read more

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. We were looking forward to trying Taste, as we had heard rave reviews about this place. Early reservations for dinner. Quickly seated. Restaurant is really nicely appointed. Beautifully decorated. Main dining room is large and tends to get noisy. Server greeted us, got some drinks, but had to wait and ask about others, that took awhile to arrive. Side salads were average. Not bad, but nothing special. Dinner was ordered. My wife's pasta was well liked. She thought it was good. My chicken parm was disappointing. Soggy, like it had sat under the heating lights awhile. Throughout dinner, service was not great. Had to ask server several times for utensils, drink refills, etc. Service seemed wanting to do the minimum. When dinner was done the server was MIA and we had to wait forever to get our check to pay and leave. Taste was OK, but nothing a place I'd make an effort to return to. Average food and average service. Reasonable prices, good portions. A few additional things noticed while visiting: 1) The handicapped parking options were pathetic. There are only three spots, but only two are properly marked. The spot at the front door doesn't have a sign and is used by people as the come and go to get pick-up orders. Embarrassing for Taste. ZERO of the spots are ramp-accessible, for those who have vehicles with ramps. 2) Dress code? My god. While many people may have been dressed appropriately, there were numerous people with baseball hats (I counted at least SEVEN at one point) on, flip flops, pajamas, and SLIPPERS. What a joke. Get a dress code, before ruining your business, as properly dressed people have little patience for this nonsense. Backwards baseball caps and sweatpants with sliders isn't the scene I'm looking for. This place is on the precipice of being an excellent place, but as it sits now, it's not worth your time and frustration to go. Parts were good and the place is beautiful, but Taste management needs to get it together. read more

We went with a couple who had been before, but it was my husband's and my first time. Appetizer (sampler) was amazing. My friend's husband's dinner, Shrimp Linguine was served hot and they said delicious. My dinner and my friend's dinner was served cold. We asked for our 2 meals to be reheated. They came back out in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the Eggplant Parmagiana .... One side was veal and one was eggplant .... Still not served warm enough. Overall, just plain not good. My friend's meal (a shrimp pasta dish) was warmed slightly as well, but had an overwhelming taste of lemon juice over it that it didn't have before. Server asked, we said it still wasn't edible, we were still charged. We were not offered a different choice or anything but, "awwww, I'm sorry". My meal was $19 that just got thrown in the garbage. The service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful! The bread for the table was bland and overall not good. No taste at all. I ordered the Italian Philly sandwich and in the first bite there was a long black hair that came out of the sandwich! I immediately put it down and handed the sandwich back to the server. They replaced the dish immediately. The manager came to check on us shortly after, but no offer to comp the dish, or even replace it with anything else! We were so looking forward to date night here. We got reservation nearly a month in advance and were seated within 5-10 mins after arriving 5 mins early to our time. There are NO seats in the lobby which is awkward. There's a floral photo wall which is nice, but they definitely have room for seating in the lobby that they should buy tonight and put out for tomorrow bc it's 2025 and no one likes to stand around before eating, especially with reservations. Our server was nice but aloof and not very attentive. We started with the bruschetta plate, which was very bland -- we make a much better one at home. Lacked garlic. Wasn't created with cheese (ummm what?) and thankfully was sort of "saved" by the balsamic on the table that we loaded up on to improve the flavor profile. We figured we'd get the garlic knots bc it was date night and we wanted a tastier appetizer which the bruschetta hadn't checked. The garlic knots arrived after our pasta, which we ordered after we ordered the knots. They were comped which was nice, but they too were bland and lacking garlic (perhaps they only use garlic powder and not the real deal? Unclear but 2/2 appetizers are among the worst we'd ever had at an Italian joint and wouldn't ever consider repeating them in the future. I can make better bruschetta blindfolded. Our entrees. the one saving grace for this new spot (other than the manager being super personable and stopping by our table to talk about our evening which we appreciated). We got the seafood linguini and the vodka rigatoni. Excellent flavor in the sauces and dishes. Ample serving sizes (but not outlandish) and good composition. We enjoyed every bite and only wish we hadn't filled up on lackluster appetizers so we could more fully enjoy our main dishes because these were amazing and worth a return visit. The Ridgeland Taste Restaurant had a nice upscale appearance, and we were greeted warmly by four smiling staff members at the front desk. We had reservations and only waited a few minutes to be seated. It was a busy Friday night, and they placed us in a large room that quickly filled up, likely because it was a new restaurant everyone wanted to try. We noticed several birthday celebrations happening, which were fun to see, especially when they brought out a big sparkler and fresh cotton candy for the birthday person. The back room was filled to the brim with three large parties. We shared some tasty appetizers: Calamari and a Bruschetta Plate. For our main courses, my husband and I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and Eggplant Parmigiana, while the couple we brought had Atlantic Salmon and Vodka Rigatoni. All the portions were generous, and the food was delicious, with the pasta tasting fresh. My daughter and her husband dined there several days ago and ordered the Pasta Milano; unfortunately, she said it was very dry (it should have a rich, creamy sauce). Our server was attentive and did a great job. The bar was slow in getting our drinks, and our server apologized. The main issue was the noise level. It was SO loud that I struggled to hear the people at our own table, and they couldn't hear me either. The couple we brought said they wouldn't return because of the noise. Our server mentioned we could request the "wine room" when making a reservation. I walked by it on the way out, and it was much quieter. I suspect Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest and the loudest. So, while the food was pretty good, the noise level really affected the atmosphere and our overall experience. read more

I ordered the apple salad with grilled "hot" chicken and she ordered a Italian salad and lasagna. Salads were fine. The chicken was cold been in the refrigerator for a while. You could taste the oldness of it. I asked to have a new piece of grilled chicken made for my salad. I want it hot. They slightly warmed up the chicken put it back on the salad to be served. Her lasagna was so salty the sauce could not even eat it. It tasted horrible. It wasn't even hot. Came in a little bitty bowl for $26. it was sent back. I told her I'd be glad to pay for the salad, but I would not pay for the chicken that was reheated and put back on my salad. Paid and left, gave her a good tip. A manager never came to our table and apologized, just running around like kind of easily stopped by the table and apologized and made something right said something !I guess they're the managers? Wear suits? Anyway the management there isn't any good! one should've came and apologized for all the issues of the entire meal. I will not be going back and I would never recommend this restaurant , We have plenty of parlors around town.
