Went here for our anniversary and it was certainly special. First, The food was delicious. We ordered linguine, bolognese, arancini, crab fondue, and tiramisu. All of it was delicious from start to finish. Second, the service was great. We had a server named David and he truly went above and beyond to make our special day special. On top of that, upon leaving, he presented us with this sweet menu from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. He was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Found this gem through Amex Resy Restaurant around Jackson. We didn't had to make reservations but were seated right away. Pulito Osteria delivers classic Italian done right, no gimmicks, just solid execution. We started with warm, house made bread, spread and olives, followed by rich, comforting meatballs in a well-balanced tomato sauce that tasted like it had time to develop (because it did). The roasted cauliflower was a sleeper hit, flavorful, perfectly caramelized with great texture. The braised beef entrée was fork-tender, deep, and savory, paired beautifully with the sauce. Add a good wine pour and a cozy, upscale atmosphere, and you've got a strong date-night or dinner-with-friends spot. Consistent, thoughtful, and worth the Resy booking. Sometimes compliments to the chef aren't enough... I need to go to the kitchen and show my appreciation in a room where there are no others. This might very well be my favorite restaurant in the world. If not, it's definitely top 3. Every single time I come here, no matter what we order, I'm wiping my seat down. It's that good. I live in New Orleans so I know good food. I've even had a run in Europe (with a couple Euro romances along the way). Nevertheless, I know good food and Pulito's can knock. my. walls. down!!! OK!!! Feel like I needed to update my review since I complemented the bartenders in my last post, the bartender is new and not great and that's being nice actually doesn't seem like this is the job for him. We love sitting at the bar, we love the back and forth and if that's what you like then unfortunately this is no longer the place for that. Fantastic creations with superb attentive knowledgeable staff. Charles took care of us and we left wanting nothing more. Stand out was the hamachi crudo. Wow! MUST ORDER! Burrata was good. The quail was seasoned wonderfully. Bread was cloud soft and flavorful. The oricchetta was just ok to me. That was only miss. The scallops were enormous and buttery. The desserts were heaven. Elevated. This meal was pleasantly a special experience. Excellent service by Charles, and all hot items came to the table piping hot. The Caesar salad was enough for two, and topped with what I think were panko crumbs, in lieu of croutons--a perfect touch. The meatballs were delicious and not spicy. The scallops were perfect, if pricy, but worth it. Companion had Pepparadelle Bolognese which was delicious. Pasta portion was "polite" -you won't need a go-box. The upside of that, is you'll have room for dessert. Nilla Wafer Tiramisu was delightfully light, not 'too sweet', and not overwhelmingly "coffee flavored" as tiramisu often can be. We both enjoyed a cocktail but I didn't enjoy the service as much as Bunny did. when i made a statement rather than posing a question as i said i would but i was corrected by the waiter. not a big deal, i promise ! then i was corrected about a menu item. really, i was discussing a dish with bunny. he overheard and made comment, not necessary! he was, by the way correct. as far as attentiveness he was. just a difference in personality. great food, love the atmosphere, service... you be the judge! Dropped in, no reservation on a Saturday night, about 7:00 pm. Slide right in to a nice table which I thought would be trouble. It should be trouble, this place is good. Inside had a nice, light, ocean/spanish kind of vibe, maybe? It's well done with lots of attention to detail. Nice chandeliers and some cool old artifacts throughout. We were in a bit of a hurry, so we rushed and ordered everything all at once and just went at it. Our server was really nice, he had a chill vibe and followed our pace. You can tell he is used to providing nice slower well paced service. We had Meatballs, Caesar Salad, Beef Short Rib, and some Crispy Potatoes. Food arrived and as always, we had way too much. The salad was on point, but was just a little dry. It needed just a bit more dressing. We ate that junt though, still darn tasty. Meatballs were scrumptious, my wife liked them more than me. She really liked the gravy and made several comments about it as we ate, and even the next day. Crispy Fried Potatoes is a misleading name. I liked them, but they are hardly "crispy fried". I found very few crispy parts at all. I thought they were good, not great. Should be named "Five Percent Food Cost" at $10, but what'evs. Short Ribs were fantastic! Just might be the best I've had. Soft and perfectly braised. Full of wonderful beef flavor and just an absolutely beautiful reduction! This is one of the few pieces of meat worth paying $50 in my opinion. Based now on two recent personal experiences (as well as a third experience of a friend), reservations mean absolutely nothing here. After probably ten experiences since the restaurant opened three years ago ranging from excellent to just ok, things appear to have changed for the worse. My wife booked a birthday dinner reservation for a booth (you can specify table, booth, or patio on RESY). We arrived and they immediately tried to seat us outside (where no one else was seated at the time) in 95 degree weather and, when I told them that we booked a booth, the hostess responded that "the system just changes things all the time. It just happens." No apology, just a sneer and directions to go "stand over by the door." While we were waiting, there was an clean unoccupied booth to our right, as well as two other booths on the other side of the dining room that were being cleared as we stood. When the hostess returned to her station, I asked if we could have the empty booth or wait a short time for either of the other two booths being cleared. She rudely told us that we couldn't and they were for people with "higher-priority reservations." I asked what gave the other reservations higher-priority (is there some secret system outside of RESY??), and she said she didn't know, but "maybe they booked before you or something." She then proceeded to lead us to the wind tunnel-noise level bar and put us at a garbage tiny table in the corner. I made my final comment to her that AGAIN, we had made a birthday dinner reservation at a BOOTH and not one in the bar, and she told me she could "put you (us) where I want to" and stomped off. I then looked on RESY, found another nearby restaurant (where we had a wonderful dinner later that evening), and left. This experience came on the heels of our last experience here a couple of months ago where we also had a booth reservation, showed up on time, and watched a booth beside us sit unoccupied for over 30 minutes (all while we were just standing randomly by the door without even an offer of a drink as we waited) while we were told it "belonged to a later reservation." How a later reservation takes priority over people with an earlier reservation (both for parties of 4) who are ALREADY THERE is beyond me, but perhaps I don't understand the unique customer-alienating reservation system used by Pulito. Perhaps they save tables for "special" customers while still allowing all tables to be booked. Who knows? On both instances, the hostess (different girl each time) was rude, arrogant, unprofessional, and didn't offer the slightest apology. It must be the way they are trained, if they are in fact trained at all. Jackson is a town with VERY few decent restaurants, so the few we have (including this one) get more hype than they generally deserve, but you can have a well-trained and courteous staff at a Chili's or Outback. You don't have to be serving high-end cuisine to have a decent staff, but it's even worse when you are and still don't. It's not hard to seat people on time, or at least pretend like you give a damn if an issue does arise. Pulito has failed multiple times to execute the basic concept of offering even base-level front-of-house service. Good luck to them, because my very short list of available local restaurants sadly just got shorter. read more

A 5-Star experience! What a great find not far from our hotel. Food, wine and service were all exceptional! I will be back.

We love this place. We can't say enough good things about it. It's one of our favorites to frequent. The menu changes so it's hard to tell you what to get but I will try. The roasted chicken. So tender and moist. Seasoned perfectly. I recommend pairing that with the creamy polenta and their perfectly cooked and seasoned brussels sprouts. The short rib, my mouth is watering. The pizza has the most perfect crust and just the right amount of sauce and toppings. You can never go wrong with any pasta dish. Caesar salad as well as the mixed green salad that has the almonds with a vinaigrette are both so scrumptious. The arancini are wonderful. The meatballs are so good! All of the cocktails are fantastic. I will say that service is huge to me. I want to feel connected with the server but not have them hover. We have only gotten that type of a server a handful of times. We seem to get older guys who give off vibes that they are too busy and we need to make it snappy. We have observed other servers around us offering great service, so we just managed to get the wrong one. They aren't terrible servers but they don't compliment the experience. You have to try Pulito. Go for family style dining. It's the best way to enjoy the experience and get a touch of Italy in Jackson. My waiter was great. The Caesar salad was yummmy. The waiter told me it would be big enough for two, but I must be greedy because there is no way I would share it. I had the red kuri soup, which was good, but it was cold in the restaurant so it cooled off too quickly. I also had the lobster pasta/ old bay campanelle. It had juicy meat and a flavorful tomato base. I would definitely order it again. The location is nice as well. The sign could be a bit more eye-catching. I almost couldn't find it because it's a small appendage compared to the building next door. I hope to go back soon. read more

We have eaten here several times - each time better than the other. The sunflower oven boule, house made focaccia, garlic confit, are a great complement before during and after the meal. If you like burrata they do a fine version. Definitely keto friendly. They recently added agnello braised lamb, feta, salted red onion, garlic confit, to their menu. An excellent taste and mixture of ingredients. If you like lamb and feta this will tease your taste buds. Their lamb shank is awesome and full of flavor. The pappardelle had a very nice taste the cheeses were well blended. The lasagna, which is on the menu until today, was totally outstanding and should not even be I. The lash a category the flavors and tastes were exceptional. As for deserts, prior to this meal I wasn't extremely impressed with them. That has changed, the Satsuma Olive Oil Cake and Affogato were Devine. Definitely will be eaten again. Cocktails were very good. read more

Was really excited to try this restaurant but ending up being pretty disappointed by the service. Started off on a bad note when my table wasn't ready at the time of my reservation. Normally not a huge deal except the hostess then seating walk-ins after me (I feel pretty certain I was receiving different treatment for a reason I'll leave vague). Ended up ordering the arancini appetizer- it was standard arancini you'd find in most places. For my entree I had the orrichette which was tasty but quite rich. This is a long overdue review! I have been working my way through the menu here- all excellent. They have wonderful homemade soups that change every so often- complex, layered flavors and beautifully presented. Two of my favorite pasta dishes are the Black Pepper Mafalde and the Old Bay Campanelle. The Mafalde has a unique blend of flavors, and not too spicy. I love Old Bay, so the Campanelle has been a go-to. It has a nice hint of the spice without being overpowering. Both have fresh, perfectly cooked pastas. There are dishes without pasta (for those who are watching carbs) and there is always a tempting daily special. Of course, the service is wonderful! Very disappointed with this restaurant. I had been hyping up this place to my parents who came in town and we booked a reservation for 5 people at 8:15. We weren't sat until 8:45. The hostess' were very friendly and apologetic the entire time. Then when we were sat, we were put at a tiny table that definitely wasn't fit for 5 people. Sat at our table until about 9:05 with not a single waiter helping us. Not even to get our drinks. And there were many that walked in the room too. Just never to our table. Got up and left. Told the hostess stand on the way out who again were very apologetic and nice and "wanted to make it right" and offered a gift card. Watched her go to I can only assume was the manager and she came back with tears in her eyes and apologized again offering up a different table. After our experience and being it was already 9:15 at this point, of course we said no. The manager himself never came out to apologize himself and obviously declined his hostess in giving us a gift card. I didn't even care about the gift card, I just felt really bad for the hostess who was very nice the entire experience. We were looking for a place to eat around 9:00 pm and this place was open and fantastic. The Manship right up the road has hours posted that they are open until 10:00 pm but when we walked in at 9:00 pm they said they were closed. Now I'm glad they were because that allowed us to find this little gem. We had the braised short rib and the filet. Both were exceptional. We solely went to eat the pasta dishes so I didn't get to experience the entrees and I'm scared I never will because I actually fell in love with the pasta dishes we had. We started with the ceviche (my husbands thing.. not mine but still good), risotto balls (so good) and Caesar salad (VERY good). For our entree we split 3 pasta dishes which was the perfect amount along with our starters. The pasta dishes are small to medium sized but absolutely amazing. Each pasta dish we got was different- one light/fresh (spaghettata) , one buttery/creamy (gnocchi), and the last was hearty (orecchiette). We finished with the vanilla wafer tiramisu and it was perfect. This is definitely a nicer/more upscale Italian restaurant. Worth the money for sure! On top of everything, our waiter was amazing. His name was Justin. When he heard we were ordering the Gnocchi, he literally sprinted to the kitchen to secure us an order of it because they were running out. Set in a pretty prime location especially with Fertile Ground in the same building! We'll start with ambiance. You walk into a cozy, dimly lit space that immediately transports you into an Italian ristorante. It was pretty packed which is not surprising given the hub bub surrounding this place. We had a rather large party so were split into two tables. Our server was very knowledgeable and quick which was nice. Now to the food. I prefer my pastas al dente with that "bite" as they say and Pulito definitely delivers with that. The sauces were complementary to the pasta and enjoyable. My only gripe is the portion size which was not in line with the prices although this is likely my American mindset haha! I had their pizzas at a separate event and while the toppings are pleasant, the dough itself tastes almost like.. sourdough? It wasn't necessarily horrible but it did take be aback and after a couple slices, I opted to not finish.
