This restaurant is in an old dairy Queen, but don't let that fool you. It's laid back and I think they have made it welcoming. It's BYOB here (a plus)! The food is absolutely fantastic. The service is great. They can run a little behind if it's very busy as this is a family run business and they make their food fresh. I believe it is well worth the wait. This was a tough one. We wanted to like this restaurant and food so much. The restaurant is tucked away in north Fort Worth and is unassuming from outside. Inside it is a cozy dining experience with great wait staff and fast service. It is clearly a local favorite. Our two meals came to over $50, no drinks, no dessert, no appetizers, just entrees. I loved the taste of my Veal Marsala, but because of a late lunch took most of it home with me after just a few bites. My husband had a combo dish and was unimpressed, but like me, liked the actual restaurant. The next day I finished my Marsala dish and realized the mushrooms had not been washed properly. Another spot I've been coming to for over a decade. We were recently treated to lunch for the whole office and realized we've been sleeping on their pizzas. Their giant 16" pies with big, thin foldable slices were a big hit. My only disappointment was that the crust itself could use more flavor. Maybe a brush of garlic oil would have put it over the top. They've spruced up the dining area a bit which creates a more intimate setting. Gone are the days when lunch specials were $7-$9 but obviously not their fault. Customer service is the same though. Kinda rough with a no nonsense attitude and I'm here for it. They have a drive thru for pickup orders only. I don't come here as often because pasta is too heavy for my diet but this local spot remains a special place to me. read more

I've been looking for this place for years! During Covid someone ordered a seafood special working with DoorDash, and changed the order as the chef was cooking the original order. When I pulled in to get the order, the chef walked to me and told me he'd made the seafood special for me. I graciously thanked him, and after I delivered the order, I went home to eat my free seafood gift. It was amazing!! I am so glad that I finally found this place! DELICIOUS! We stopped by after a football game and were starving the first time we came here a year ago. The food was so good and so impressive that this year when we came back for another football game my son asked that we go here again for the great food! I had the handmade pasta, choice of Angel hair with pink sauce, their pink sauce is absolutely amazing, so delicious! It was served so piping hot, it was so yummy, like the kind of good you have to hum as you eat it because it just hits a spot of wow, so good! This was me eating my dinner, bite, "mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm GOOD!", bite, "mmmmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmm SO GOOD!" My son ordered the tortellini alfredo which he said was amazing. The meal came with a soup or salad and bread and butter. The bread is delicious and melts the butter just perfectly to compliment your meal. I will say last year we had zero issues with wait staff, this year, the server had to be new, he just didn't know how to serve well. He refilled a sprite with water, he didn't visit the table hardly at all, he didn't know if the meals had bread served with them but did check when we asked and later brought us some. But, the food here is so good it makes up for imperfections. It is a small place, nothing fancy pants or crazy, just a great meal in what feels like a mom and pop authentic restaurant. So, advice is go with grace in case you have a new server still learning, the food is certainly worth it! read more

I have eaten here twice. The portions are great, the price is fair, the food taste authentic. The only thing I don't like is their bread. It is not seasoned and just plain. Authentic both the ambience and food. Service is perfect. The BYOB they bring you an ice cold mug for your beer or wine glass alongside an iced water. I personally enjoy the tortellini, which is made fresh alongside all other dishes served here. The pizza sauce requires a desired taste as it is a different flavor than what you're used to, but I love it. Towards the end of our dinner, the chef comes from the kitchen and ensures everything is up to your standard. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. This place is a little confusing. For dine in, they have old fashioned furniture and a waiter wearing fancy clothes. There is no wall separating the cashier and kitchen. You can see everything that is happening in the kitchen. Hard to imagine how they thought they could pull of the romantic vibe with low lights. The bright lights from the kitchen shine in the dining area. The kitchen looks like a casual pizza place. My family ordered quite a bit from this place. I got the egg plant pasta. It was inexpensive but it doesn't come with a salad. My cousin got shrimp alfredo. It comes with a side salad. My mom got chicken parm. It also came with a side salad. They only have 3 types of dressings: ranch, caesar, and house. I wouldn't mind coming here again but the quality is on par with frozen pasta from the grocery store. read more

We have eaten at "Taste of Italy" probably 7 or 8 times over the past year. Nobody wants to read a long post, so here's the highlights. a. Food is okay. Not the best, nor the worst. Just okay. Enough to keep us coming back (note: there are no other Italian restaurants in the vicinity). b. Flies. We hint that when the server asks, "Is there anything else I can get you?" and we respond, "Yes, a fly swatter," the hint is never taken. Not the first time we've batted the flies away. c. Hit and miss table service. It takes an act of "napkin waving" to get service or a refill of a beverage. We understand if you're busy--but, again, not always the case. The other night, I got a "half-a-glass" refill on my iced tea. Odd. d. Rarely presented with a desert menu. And, then, it is usually hand-on-hip, "How dare you inconvenience me...huff...I'll be back." e. Servers are great sometimes and rude sometimes. Inconsistent service. f. Over-priced for relatively small portions. g. No "welcome" breadsticks or salad (like an Olive-Garden experience). You will pay for everything here. Nothing is complimentary. h. And, while it is NOT the problem of the restaurant, many times the clientele can be loud and unruly (thanks to the bring-you-own-wine policy--which seems to be interpreted as 'I'll drink till I'm s***t-faced). We won't be back. We'll drive the extra miles to another restaurant. Overall grade: C- read more
