I asked for a blended Thai tea smoothie as I didn't see it on the menu. The cashier mentioned they can still make it. Little did I know she was going to charge me $1 extra just to make it. I then ordered the 32 oz with boba. As I approached the side to pick up I noticed the guy making my drink only added a very small amount of boba. I kindly asked him to add more and he told another guy I complained it wasn't enough. The other guy said he would charge me 70 cents for more. So I paid the extra charge again. I pretty much paid $10 total for my large 32 oz Thai tea smoothie with boba which I think was very over priced. Lastly I got my drink and was very disappointed. I love this place, but they need to speed up their service. Lines are always out the door here, and I think it's largely due to customer questions. They should put a menu outside since they're having people line up there due to Covid. That way people can decide a bit before they get inside. And yes, I do use their online ordering, but this place tends to close that off pretty early. I was so thrilled when they opened this location. It had been years since I've had Tastea because the Westminster location is just too far. The quality is amazing as expected, but what puts this venue above and beyond any other local tea place (besides the taste!) is the consistently awesome customer service. The staff clearly communicate with me and will ask me for clarification. And I love that they ask me if I'm a rewards member because I sometimes forget to mention it. Update 5/27/2023: tried the boba again at this location a few days ago, and it's much much better. Thank goodness they are back to the green boba and not that mushy orange junk they had for a while. This place is amazing!! The location is great too! Plenty of parking, the entire plaza is new and beautiful, it is great to just relax at and walk around. I'm a huge boba tea fan and love to try all different places. What I loved about this location was the variety of tea flavors and boba! I ordered the matcha thai tea because I love both those types of tea and I was curious how they would taste together. Turns out, they taste great! The combination really works. I also ordered the honey boba instead of the regular boba to try it out. It was a sweeter flavor but I really liked it! The price is definitely reasonable for the amount of boba tea you get. There is also a lot of food served at this location. I didn't try any at this visit but the food other people were ordering looked really good. This location is perfect if you are craving a boba tea because there really isn't another boba tea restaurant in the complex. I love coming to this Tastea near LBX and have to say the drinks are made consistently good. The only thing that bothers me is the attitude of who I think is the manager. He is this bigger Asian guy with a beard and he would always sound so upset and pissed off when speaking to me and my friend for no reason. So good and so FRESH! I've had my fair share of boba and this place really hit the spot. Not only is their boba cooked to a nice consistency (just the right balance of chewy and soft), but their range of flavors is spectacular as well! While I can't speak for their milk teas (I was in a fruity mood), I did try a handful of their fruit-based drinks and teas. We ordered the lychee freeze, watermelon heaven (seasonal!), muddy melon, & peach me sweetea as well as bites: specifically, the karate chicken, buttload'a fries & shrimp on it. My favorites were the watermelon heaven (a blended watermelon drink with fresh cut watermelon bits!) and muddy melon (fresh watermelon and black tea). I modified mine to be without sugar and with boba, and it was plenty sweet from natural sugars and pre-mixed tea sugar flavor. Their snacks pair well with the drinks and are shareable portions -- they're worth trying if you come by (get the chicken... and who doesn't love fries?!) In addition to the freshness and quality of the drinks, their service was above-and-beyond hospitable and delightful in advising us on their expansive menu options and being patient while we ordered -- and even helping to accommodate us in taking pics for the gram! (Shoutout to Ally & Brian for being so sweet!) This is a new spot located in the Long Beach Exchange. There's not much indoor seating, but there are a couple benches outside, a sprawling grassy area and an entire table area on the patio right outside. We usually frequent the Tastea's in the Irvine/OC area, but since there was a special event going on, we decided to give it a try. We love Tastea no matter where we go, so we thought it'd be the same for this location - we were completely right!! Staff is extremely friendly, and the quality of their drinks is on par with every other location we've been to. I think the interior of this Tastea is definitely a bit cramped, so when it gets busy (like it did when we went for a special occasion), it can be difficult to maneuver your way around people in line. Strawberry Ecsteasy ($4.50): My go-to drink, pretty much every time I go to a Tastea. There's something about the mix of Strawberry and Black Tea that goes so well together - add in the grass jelly, and you have a bomb drink!!!! I also saw that they now have drip coffee - they had a sample for their new Vietnamese coffee and BOY it is strong!!! I might grab it the next time I'm feeling tired because that will absolutely wake me up. Everyone there is super friendly, the menu is the same as the others, and the quality is just as good as the others. The only downside is that there are no seats in this location, but I guess you can walk to the Hangar and sit there. read more

I got the almond milk tea with honey boba for $5.10. The boba is still soft and delicious at least! As for the drink, it was still incredibly sweet, even at 0/4 sweetness. I had my friend who has much more of a sweet tooth than I try it to confirm I wasn't crazy. Even he admitted it was really sweet. It also was far too almondy. Upon entering Tastea, I had ironically commented to my friend that it smelled like almond extract, which I love, just as I love almond flavoring. But this is probably the worst almond milk tea I've gotten at any boba place. It tasted how I imagine any drink would after pouring almond extract for 5 seconds straight. I wasn't actually watching them add the powder so I don't know how much was in there. But it gave the drink a kick that did not belong there at all. The spice actually scratched the back of my throat after a few sips. I've never had that happen with an almond milk tea before. I wasn't able to finish the drink. Oh well, now I know this is not the boba place for me Summary: - drinks very sweet even at 0/4 sweetness. I'm so happy Long Beach is finally getting more Tea Houses. Tastea is more mainstream but it still is tastey. I don't step out to far on my comfort zone when it comes to my beverages. Mostly because I think $5 is expensive for a drink and if I'm spending $5 on a drink and it's nasty... I'm pissed. So I stay in my comfort zone which is and Almond Milk Tea (made with black tea) no Boba. I prefer all drink. Check them out. They do have of about 5-10 mins wait time. Not sure if they have per order but if you go to this location at the LB Exchange, don't be in a rush anyway. Tastea is hands down my FAVORITE boba shop for fruit teas. Can't get enough of that Bootea Shaker (less sweet) and OMG the fries are the best! Also, for the health conscious, their popcorn chicken uses white meat and the batter is super light so you won't end up feeling as guilty ;) If you haven't had Tastea, don't call yourself a boba lover please. This location in particular has extremely friendly staff. The 5 times I've been (grand opening included), every single staff has had a smile on when greeting me. When drinks were not to my liking (not sweet enough or too sweet), they've been more than accommodating. Honestly every boba shop has different sugar levels so it's really nice that they will adjust for you after you taste it. If you're thinking of having tastea at a party, do it! I ordered 4 partea jugs for a wedding this past Saturday and the order was there when I arrived for pick up. The team is quite responsive which is extremely important when it comes to event planning. I really appreciated it! Also, for the comment with the low rating regarding reusable bottles, I don't think that should be this location's fault if it's a corporate policy at the moment to not allow reusable cups. I've been here a few times and I've never had a problem with the quality of the drinks (never had their food). It's good. The reason for the one star is my last experience. I placed an online order via DoorDash and scheduled a pickup window between 5:45pm-6:15pm. It was about 4:50pm when I placed the order and I placed it for that window specifically because I could not get there until the pickup window that I requested. Technically, the order was ready to be picked up by then, but any reasonable food service should understand that you don't finish the drinks 30 minutes BEFORE the pickup window. The receipt even says pickup time is 6:05pm (which is on the tail end of when my order was to be ready), but I got the email my order was ready at 5:12pm. So I picked up my order and, to no one's surprise, it was watered down due to the ice melting. Due to a different restaurant not having my order ready in the time requested (that's a different yelp review) I was not able to arrive until about 6:30. And if the ice was melted because of that, that would have been on me and NOT Tastea and I would not have rated them 1 star. But there's no reason that an order, which clearly took about 10 minutes to complete, should not have been ready in 10 minutes when the pickup time, according to the receipt, was about 40 minutes later. read more

I have a love hate relationship when it comes to Tastea. I remember when they first started it was just one then two locations. Now they have so many all over Cali. Anyways back to this LBX location. My boyfriend and I came here one night because it was my bf sister's baby shower and everyone wanted tea. So we decided to go and get it. We stopped by tastea right before they closed. The manager Brian took our order and honestly he was really nice and friendly. He was professional and knew what he was doing. We ordered about 8 or 9 drinks in total so it was big order. They even gave us a whole cup of free popping boba. So that was really sweet of them. Now I gave this location 3 stars was because one drink was missing. My bf and I didn't notice until we got back to the party and someone was missing a drink. And that someone was the pregnant mom to be. So it wasn't pretty because she didn't get her drink. They try to streamline the ordering experience by having a screen so you can view your order summary, apps for rewards (pro tip: you get a free drink just for signing up as well as a free bday drink), receipt by text/email/print, etc. -Food/Drinks: I ordered a Peach Me Sweetea and Jasmine Sea Cream Milk tea and both were standard. The teas were fragrant without being overpowering and not too sweet! We also ordered popcorn chicken and it was crispy and hot. The one difference I did notice is that the wait didn't take long at all, maybe less than 10 mins for everything to come including chicken (unheard of at other tastea locations esp garden grove!!) For the service alone, I was satisfied. Food and drinks are on par with any other tastea- hits the spot. Came in 15 mins before closing so I was worried the workers might be irritated since I understand they want to close/go home but i was welcomed in which I really appreciate! Ordered my favorite, the avocado avalanche, but was a bit taken aback to see it now costs $6.40 for a regular 20oz since the market price for avocados increases. It was nice that they had a sign out just for customers to be aware of the price for this drink but of course I got it regardless. I think the non-dairy creamer might not have been mixed well (or the milk went bad) because my drink had little mushy bits all along the bottom of my cup, and it was NOT boba.
