I was excited to try a new (to me) boba place in LBX. The area feels community-centric and fun that it's walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. Tastea is a small, cute shop. No indoor seating but you can walk outside and sit in the green space by The Hanger. Service was fast. For all the nice setting and friendly staff, I don't think I'd go again, though. The drinks themselves taste... artificial. The boba has a good texture, but we ordered a classic black milk tea with boba and a Peach Tea with boba and neither had a strong tea flavor and again just... like there was an artificial sweetener or flavor in both. So, three stars for cleanliness, location, service and boba texture... but can't give it more than that. read more

I'm a sucker for Thai Tea Slush... I recently found out you can get that here or in a smoothie version, the smoothie being creamier. 10/10 recommend the smoothie version!! For the longest time, I had mediocre feelings about Tastea. Looking back, I think it's because I only went here out of convenience and ordered something boring. If you order food it will take longer for them to make. Environment: there is no indoor seating but there is plenty of seating outside in the courtyard and inside the LBX hanger. The first time I went, I found a spiral piece of metal in my large mango all the way drink with boba. I didn't think much of it and tossed the piece of metal in the trash. I mean, it was ok, nothing spectacular, nothing that made me say, "wow, that's good." They do not have any seating available, it's more like an order-and-go situation. Expect to wait outside due to the limited amount of customers allowed at a time. Parking can be a bit frustrating since there are many shops and restaurants throughout the plaza. But just be patient, and you'll find a spot. Overall, for me, Tastea is your basic boba spot offering an array of drinks with a few small bites. I had an appointment across the way and I thought I'd check this place out for a drink while I explore the surrounding areas of LBX. Bad news is my appointment ended early - way too early that this place wasn't even open yet. BUT! No biggie. It gave me the chance to do the exploring while waiting for them to open up. And then 11am hit - their opening hour - so I was back precisely at that time. Sadly, it was another few minutes before they were really open-open. I was about to give up! You can never go wrong with getting a drink here as everything is very high quality and their quality control is also impressive! They mostly use fresh ingredients meaning less drinks made from powder. My go to is always one of their fruit drinks but currently it is the Avocado drink made with fresh avocados! Being located in LBX makes it a great place to grab a drink to enjoy alongside your meal or just sit and enjoy the sunshine. The staff is attentive, efficient, and friendly. There's so many good places to eat/grab a drink at Long Beach Exchange... don't bother with this one. I ordered both a regular and large karate chicken and with a difference of $3.70 ($11.50-$7.80) I was disappointed by the negligible difference in amount. I'm attaching I found of Tastea's website showing what any reasonable customer would assume to be their two sizes. I'm aware that there's always going to be a difference in staged photos used for advertising and the actual product, but the boxes aren't even the same. What was worse than the size difference was the amount of chicken I received in the regular box. I had more crumbs than actual chicken pieces, there was no point in even giving us 3 servings of sauces cause we barely used up 1. The chicken was also dry. So I normally wouldn't come here since I'm not into super sweet fruity teas but a friend wanted to meet up here so I agreed. There was a bit of a line but it moved quickly.
