This is their freshly cooked chicken and shrimp fried rice!

My recent dining experience at Tasty Chef was truly outstanding. The combination fried rice was the most flavorful and authentic I have tasted in over fifteen years, prepared with remarkable attention to detail and a perfect blend of seasonings and sauces. Every bite reflected quality, freshness, and skillful execution. The service was equally impressive. The staff provided attentive, courteous, and professional care throughout my visit, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant has exceeded my expectations in both cuisine and service. I look forward to returning soon to enjoy another exceptional meal. I am calling my wife now to see if she would like anything for dinner!

On a busy Saturday, we were on a search for noodles before we did our grocery shopping. We stumbled upon this stand and ordered the beef chow fun and the salt and pepper porkchop. The woman helping us was very nice when taking our order and when she brought it to our table. My kids love the salt and pepper pork chop and asked to get it again in the future. We will be back!

Taste of Chicago Chinatown right in Aurora! Had the salt n pepper lunch special and it was delicious! Tasty Chef lives up to its name! Located inside the Park n Shop Asian grocery store in a food court area with lots of great options.

This is by far the best Chinese food in the western suburbs. Located in a food court in Park to Shop grocery store, it is a shockingly good place. Salt and pepper octopus is great. The orange chicken actually has real pieces of chicken in it instead of the dedicated chicken you get at most places. Ordering the lunch gives you too much food for one person and is just plain good eats. As a side, there is another place in the food court that sells duck, char sous, soy chicken, etc. right next door. Buy lunch or dinner here and get stuff for tomorrow.

Love Red Pepper! Disappointed their lease expired and intend to close the business. A great "mom and pop" authentic Chinese pop-up and wish they didn't have to close. Please support small businesses and for those who need help, they are one family that would definitely need another hand in the back with the chef. Thank you Red Pepper for bringing back food memories.

Recommend you give it a try. Szechuan Spicy Green Beans and fried rice are my favorites.

It looks like a typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. They also have lots of teas. A whole lot of flavors. The food is the main reason people go here though. I got us something for dinner and it wasn't too bad. The Kung Pao Tofu was the best sounding vegetarian choice so we got that. It's $10.15 for the only size, the large. The tofu wasn't as firm as we would have liked, but it wasn't too soft either so it was mostly okay. Good tasting sauce that made us happy we got it extra spicy, and there were lots of hot peppers in it. The vegetables could have cooked longer. For this cheap place it was actually good. It wasn't anything at all special but it was edible and that's better than some of these other places. The one we got is the best for vegans and vegetarians.

Lucky Panda is one of the many restaurants in strip malls in this part of town. Has a lot of the common items. There's beef and chicken of course, as well as tofu for healthy options. A lot of customers seem to get carryout. It's got a pretty big dining room if you want to eat inside. There's also a gaming section with a few slots. As for the food it's basic. It's about $14 for an entree. Portions are kind of big though. Has some that are spicy. We got the Kung Pao Tofu. Came with quite a few pieces of tofu in it. Too bad these were kind of burnt and tough. Had a good variety of vegetables including carrots and peas. The meal was pretty okay but they didn't understand we were eating in and they made it to go, so we ate it out of the bag at a table. For sure there's many Chinese restaurants that are much better. It's located in the one strip mall on Eola. There's a few options with tofu for vegans and vegetarians.

The empress chicken and fried rice were really good with generous portions for both as well as a good mixture of shrimp, beef, chicken and pork in the rice. We ordered take-out on a Saturday night. They said it would take 30-40 minutes to be delivered but it didn't come until over an hour later. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken dinner. The chicken was warm and crispy but only came with one tiny container of sweet and sour sauce which was barely enough for half the chicken. It also came with an egg roll and TON of white rice. Half the platter was rice and it came with another small box of rice on the side. The rice was on the dry side too. We also ordered garden fresh vegetables. I can't say they seemed very fresh though. To me, it was equivalent to the bottom of a bag of frozen vegetables that were microwaved a bit too long.

Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed.
