Great first experience for a seafood boil with my nieces who have been wanting to give it a try for a while now. We arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday and they have a big dining room with plenty of tables, a couple of TVs and it what looks like a stage area too. There were a few other occupied tables and some recently empty ones that were cleaned up quickly after we sat down. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer questions and our waitress even asked if we would like her to pour our boil out for us when she brought it to the table which was appreciated. It was hard to decide between everything on the menu while also trying to avoid going overboard but since it was just me and my two tween nieces I ended up choosing the Seashack Shareable combo #3 which comes with a pound each of snow crab, Dungeness crab and shelled shrimp along with 2 corn cobs and potatoes. I was a bit worried that my younger niece might not like the food so I ordered some fries and garlic bread to go along with the boil and both of these tasted good. My niece had had her heart set on trying king crab so it was a letdown to learn they were out for the day but the generous size of the dungeness and snow crab legs we received and the tasty cajun garlic flavor made her quickly forget all about it as she happily cracked and devoured from the big bowl in front of us. I ordered the mild option for spice level as the girls were afraid that any spice would be too much for them to enjoy but they ended up wishing we had at least got a little bit. Ended up with a bill of around $150 with tip included so it's a bit up there in terms of price point but I left with a good impression as it was a very good value for the quality and the size of the servings. I actually had to have about a 1/4 pound wrapped up to go. Needless to say we will be coming back to Sea Shack again soon.

I went here with my friends for a birthday party. Love the food with affordable price. Ordered the family combo and it was really delish!!

My sister was craving seafood and we were in the Naperville Area so here we are. The service was great! The place is nice. It has a small stage which makes me think there are performers sometimes. The food was good. I think better than some cajun food places I have been too. It was deifinitely ok especially for the price. They have some scallops too which not all placea have. If you are in the area and craving seafood. This is definitely a place to consider. Happy eating!!!!

I came in with high hopes and was disappointed. We walked in and the dining room looks less than half decorated, and was less than half full on Father's Day. That should have been a bad sign, but I hoped based on the reviews that the food would make up for the lack of decor. We probably messed up by ordering the Cajun Rice dishes. Maybe the Boils would have been better, but we were were put off about those because they were bringing the seafood out to people's tables in clear plastic bags, shaking the bag, and dumping it in a bowl in front of the customer. I've had many a low country boil, and don't know how they mix it up in the kitchen, but plastic bag delivery to table doesn't seem right. The fried rice tasted like something you buy in the frozen section at the supermarket. The veggies in it were undeniably from a bag of frozen vegetables at the supermarket. (Peas, green beans, carrots, and corn... and the undeniable cut and texture of frozen vegetable medley.) The only thing Cajun about the dish was that the rice was over-seasoned with Cajun seasoning powder. It also didn't help that the fried mushroom appetizer squirted me with scalding oil when I bit into it, and that all 3 of our orders came out in 3 separate shifts. My wife was almost finished eating before my food came to the table.

My seafood boil flavor was good but everything was miniature sized. Really minature, potato the size of a cherry tomato, 1 egg and 2 half sizes of corn. Your entire boil can fit into that tiny wooden bowl so you can imagine the size.

Family Combo- Medium, (also got a side of Spicy and it was SO DANG GOOD! )

the seafood was VERY FRESH and was not over cooked, better than any cajun style seafood boils we've had in chicago suburbs. THE SHRIMP PEELS yesss 10/10 service everyone was friendly and came to check on us regularly with thoughtful conversation my friends and i are BIG FOODIES. and i think we just found our favorite spot

The food was pretty good. I would definitely recommend going up in spice level like other reviews say. Service was amazing, our waitress was so nice. Ambiance was pretty nice, the place was spacious and music was good. Some small things I noticed that did not deter from wanting to eating here again though, the crab cracker tool did not come until the majority of crab had already been eaten because all of their tools were still being sanitized when we first started eating. Additionally, my friend had only ordered sausage but ended up getting corn and potatoes too. It wasn't a big deal and we didn't get charged for it so it was just a nice bonus. Overall, pretty happy with the experience and we demolished the food!!

Food is always delicious. We got the clams, shrimp and green mussels. ( mild) You have to get an order of garlic bread to dip in the sauce. Service is fast and friendly.

The wait for pickup was longer than expected (30 min over) and the amount of saltiness in the food made it difficult to eat.

So I thought we were all set. Our reservation was for 6:00, and we arrived at 5:54. We were told to wait until six, which was perfectly fine. Six o'clock rolls around and we're told they're still cleaning the table. Okay, we wait. Then we wait. And wait. Thirty minutes later, we find out the people who had the table STILL hadn't even left. Baby...what exactly were we reserving three weeks ago, a future dream? They offered us a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciate in theory, but when you've got a party of eight waiting 40 minutes past their reservation time, I'm not really looking for the cheapest appetizer on the menu. I'm looking for the table I reserved. Eventually, we were seated, and thank GOD for our server Alexis B, because they completely turned the experience around. Funny, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and genuinely one of the best servers I've ever had. If I could give them five stars separately, I would. They made us feel welcome and somehow kept the whole table laughing after that rocky start. The food had some hits and misses. The crab cake was a little too spicy for my taste, although the rest of the table enjoyed it. The mini sliders, however? DELICIOUS. That buttery, well seasoned bun was doing exactly what it needed to do. Then came my Entourage burger, and baby...THAT burger understood the assignment. It was absolutely packed with flavor. So good that I practically inhaled it. My server even asked if I wanted another one because apparently I ate it fast enough to qualify for a second round. Unfortunately, the management situation left a lot to be desired. After the issues getting our table, the managers seemed to keep watching our group throughout the night. If you're going to stare, baby, at least commit to the performance! It made an already awkward situation feel even more uncomfortable. Honestly, my server Alexis B, was the ONLY reason this experience ended on a positive note. They were so charming and personable that by the end, they felt more like a friend than a server. I'm genuinely going to miss them. The food was good, and that burger was fantastic, but a three-week reservation should not turn into a 40 minute wait with a party of eight standing around wondering when they're going to eat. So unfortunately, I'm leaving with two stars. The food gave me reasons to come back, but the reservation experience and management gave me reasons to stay home. And to my server: you were the star of the night. Protect this person at all costs.

Our server, Katie, was amazing. She was attentive, funny, and gave great recommendations on both food and drinks. The menu has a wide variety of options, so her guidance definitely helped. A few people in our group ordered sushi and said it was really good as well. I had the shrimp dinner and added calamari on the side. The shrimp portion was generous, and everything tasted great. My only complaint is the noodles. They were very thin, similar to Pad Thai noodles, and I personally prefer thicker hibachi noodles. The soup was one of the best I've tasted. The ambiance was cute and spacious, with a cool fish tank and the drinks were a highlight. I had a coconut sake drink that was so good I'd honestly go back just for that. We were seated immediately upon arrival and placed our order shortly after. Our waiter recommended 2-3 tapas per person. A quick tip: if you order a paella, order fewer tapas overall as the rice makes it very filling! The standout tapas were the cold Patatas Con Alioli (the garlic in the potato salad was divine), the Vieiras Albariño (scallops were tender and cooked to perfection), and the Calamares A La Plancha (very clean squid, no strong fishy taste). The Solomillos A La Plancha was a unique take on beef tenderloin, though it was ultimately forgettable and the Pollo Al Limón was sadly overcooked and needed more lemon. While we got seated quickly, the dish delivery was very slow and spread out, stretching our total meal to two hours. By the time our Blanco Y Negro dessert arrived, we didn't bother mentioning our missing Queso De Cabra just because we wanted to wrap things up. Another staff member tipped off our waiter about our anniversary, so he congratulated us, took our picture, and brought two glasses of champagne. While a cute moment, we were surprised to be charged for the champagne on our bill afterward. Since I'm not much of a drinker and we already had a pitcher of sangria, we would have declined had we known it wasn't complimentary. Great ambiance and seafood, but watch out for slow food rollout and unexpected charges.

It was packed and pretty noisy, so not the best spot if you're looking for a quiet dinner, but the energy made it feel fun and lively. The drink menu had a lot to choose from--wine, handcrafted beer, cocktails, and mocktails. I ordered the "It's Pink and It's Bubbly" mocktail, which was refreshing and cute without being too sweet. My husband went with a beer and was happy with his pick. We started with the crispy arancini and whipped ricotta with honeycomb. The arancini had that golden, crunchy outside and a warm, comforting center. The whipped ricotta was probably my favorite appetizer--creamy, light, a little sweet from the honeycomb, and easy to keep going back for. For entrees, we had the short rib rigatoni fresh pasta and the prosciutto with wild mushroom white pizza. The short rib was tender and rich, and the rigatoni held up well with the sauce. The prosciutto and wild mushroom pizza had a nice savory flavor and felt a little lighter, but still filling. I can say that VAI is a solid choice for date night, a group dinner, or when you want good Italian-inspired food with drinks and a lively crowd. Just be ready for the noise if you go during a busy time.
