Like a comfortable diner My lunch was good today. I had checked their menu beforehand and decided to order their Hot Roast Beef Sandwich, topped with a brown mushroom gravy. The lunch special came with a side, I selected their mashed potato with even more of that brown gravy. I liked the gravy. I liked everything. It had been a while since my last visit, but the place hadn't changed much. Dark carpeting and some dark panels, tables with other business ads under plastic, are reminders of a much, much earlier time. The restaurant staff wearing masks a reminder of the present. This is a local restaurant with a local clientele, the waitstaff giving familiar greetings to several of the regulars. I was not a regular but still felt welcome, my server doing a nice job throughout the visit. My food took about 10 minutes from ordering to arrival. Tasty Home Cookin is the home of the Tasty Burgers, 3 sliders for a low price. Another throwback, low prices and smaller than today's huge serving sizes. Went for breakfast; it was my second visit. This restaurant seems to be a local favorite as the waitresses knew many of the customers and you could tell they come often. The breakfast was great - eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast - and reasonably priced (under $10). The waitress was good, although she was spread thin and could have used some help! Me and my kids have been here a few times. THC is in the strip mall with TJMAXX. It is a little hole in the wall greasy spoon. Food is always good and has a Coney island feel. This place was recommended to me by the AirBnb owner whom I stayed with last night. What a treat! This place bears its name well, and it might even be understated. I went for breakfast today Sunday and ordered their special Eggs Benedict. It was so delicious, their sauce was outstanding. To add to it, the staff is very attentive, follows all Covid regulations, and if you're lucky enough to have Johnny wait your table, your want ask for anything more. Been eating here since my childhood and the place hasn't changed. It's extremely casual with good home style food (either southern or American fare). It's inexpensive, kind of a greasy spoon. You won't find friendlier employees or better customer service anywhere. They keep your drink full and your stomach happy. read more

We met a friend here & had a very good experience. It is a place the locals go & it's obvious the waitstaff knows their regulars orders by heart. The staff were all friendly & helpful. My husband and our friend has breakfast. They both were very happy with their meals. I ordered 2 of the mini burgers & I am so glad I did! Those little gems are delicious. They come with grilled onion and pickles & are reminiscent of the old days diner burgers you just can't really find anymore. An unfortunate situation again. 2nd place that told us we could sit at a table outside but not inside with my registered medical support dog. She never asked if hebwas a support dog we had to tell her.. (the first waitress). Not emotional support but a physical medical support dog. He has to sit on my lap to let me know if I'm going to have a medical attack. He sits on my lap and lays down in a sling carrier. When I asked to speak to a manager they sent out a lady named Andrea (not sure of how she spells her name). My husband heard the ladies saying a dog is at the table from across the restaurant. How embarrassing it was. If it's OK to sit outside then it is ok to sit inside. He has been trained to not touch people food or the table. He is in a sling carrier and on my lap. The employee complained that he was touching the seat and he wasn't. We love to support our locally owned businesses but not somewhere that doesn't follow the ADA guidelines. She then said maybe you can educate us. On it. I said no you should know tthe law. I offered to show her his papers and legallybper hippa I do not have to show her. My husband was holding him while I used the restroom. The lady Andrea? Said she was going in to get Jerry and they never came out and said Oh I know them and their dog they can come back in. I said well we've never been here with this pup so I'm not sure how they know him. Everyone was starring at us, so embarrassing..... then when we refused to come back in from being so embarrassed she said ok. I said I will be reporting you to the department for the disabled. I said just because you don't see a disability doesn't mean there isn't one. Again offered my paper's. They need to educate their staff. I've enjoyed their Tastyburgers for years, a 100% ground chuck fresh patty served on a bakery soft dinner roll. These little delights are only $0.75 each / 3 for $1.99 best in their standard style of mustard, ketchup, grilled onions and a pickle. Add cheese for $0.20 because it is plentiful and they allow it to properly melt. This is not a "fast food" restaurant and these are cooked to order so they take 5 to 7 minutes or longer when they are busy. Call ahead if you're in a hurry, your order will be ready when they say. They serve breakfast (pancakes are excellent), lunch and dinner. The menu includes sandwiches from $3.50 for a grilled cheese to $5.75 for a club. Dinners are typical "home style" restaurant platters in moderate portions; Hot Roast Beef, Country Fried Steak, Pork Chops, Fresh Turkey etc with 3 sides for $8.95. This is certainly not a fancy place but very well run with the owner or manager always in sight. The food (with the exception of the Tastyburger) is kind of Morrison's Cafeteria "goes a little bit country" with servers. The food is simple, plain and tasty. They use peanut oil - not soybean oil (hurrah! since I'm allergic to soy!) The hamburgers do not have lots of "additives" - just good tasting hamburger and mine had the special that day with mushrooms and caramelized onions - woot! Average/normal size portions - which is good since I hate to waste food! Good coffee. Water glasses that have been washed many times and show the wear - with ads on them! Vintage marketing! We were lucky to have the homemade peach cobbler. Way too much sugar for my taste (I like more of a fruit taste) but still good - I ate it all. And the washrooms were VERY clean.
