Three 3 Piece Whiting Fish with Fries.
    Antwan W.

Three piece whiting meal is FIRE!!!!! It was fresh. They give you healthy portions. My son ate the rest of my platter. From the looks of the empty box....it was good to him too. He didn't even reheat it. Prices are extremely fair. A six piece jumbo shrimp platter was like a mere $6.50. That's unheard of in this day and age! Usually when food is priced fairly there's a lack in quality but NOT here! I look forward to trying some other dishes at some point in the NEAR future. My homie had the steak and cheese and he had no complaints. He also had the cheesesteak too. I had the cookies. The macadamia nut and white chocolate cookies were great. The chocolate chip not so much. If you're heading up 95...be sure to slide through exit 150A!!! Well worth the pit stop.

    Boneless Chicken kabob

Food was absolutely delicious. Juicy flavorful chicken, aromatic rice, rich saucy chickpeas, soft chewy hot bread with a crispy outside... Drink selection is kind of lacking... mostly mainstream sodas. but whatever. Service was a tad slow, but worth the wait. Not sure how things would go in the daylight. Signs say 45 min parking max. . uhhhh if the food takes 30 minutes, that's kinda effed up yall. Inside is really well lit and spacious, low key kinda quiet too... appeared clean... will definitely return.. only took a little over a year for us to stop in . We've passed it on RT1 a zillion times... glad we stopped in.

I placed my order over the phone and it was ready in 20 minutes--just like they said. I ordered chicken breast and lamb kabobs. The chicken was seasoned really well and absolutely delicious. The lamb, while tender and juicy and also delicious, didn't have a lot of seasoning on it. The side of spinach tasted like, well, spinach. I also ordered hot wings and fries. The hot wings were subtle, mild in heat--even the wimpiest of eaters could handle it. The staff were polite and courteous when I picked up my food, and they were apologetic about the fact that they were temporarily out of forks. I liked the layout of the place: lots of pictures related to Afghanistan, a carpeted area (see pic below), good ambience. Definitely recommend.

This was the best fresh tasty Afghan food. Took longer than we wanted because we were traveling to NC but worth the wait. The lamb was so perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bread was soft and delicious, the rice and spices yum. Doesn't look like much it's clean and fresh delicious meal

We have been waiting for this place to open. We are so excited to have a new kebab place nearby for us. We also love the fact that it has a really cool interior where you can get a very authentic Afghan feel for the food. The menu has traditional Afghani and also some really great other options as far as fries ,chicken onion rings ,chicken tenders ,sandwiches, ,hamburgers, wings so there's some thing for everybody here. We ordered that mixed kebab for us which has three skewers, rice, chickpeas, and a side order of the spinach, and it comes with pita bread. This has plenty of food to be able to share. They opened up 3/11/23 which was yesterday! The place was clean, plenty of parking and seating. The smell when you walked in was delicious! The mix kabob has 3 skews, chicken , beef and chicken seekh, rice, chickpeas or spinach salad and pita bread. The food was good but the wait was not . The service was friendly but the orders took quitea while to process, so be patient while they work on the flow.

A nice kabob place. The owner was friendly. Excellent seasoning. You can tell that they care about the presentation as well.

    Boneless Chicken Kabob with chickpeas.

Food was decent. Prices were not bad either. I would have liked for my chickpeas to actually be cooked like the other reviewer got. Mine were just sauce less/gravyless chickpeas for some reason, as you can see. The bread has the texture of pizza crust. Not bad, but caught me off guard. I would definitely go back. Also, the website does not allow orders and I was told that they don't actually accept online orders at all. It's just for the menu. ‍Also, the person complaining about the prices seemed to forget that they tipped for some reason. The food is reasonably priced.

    Lamb gyro combo with sambosa
    Jasmine S.

The quality of the meat here is amazing. Very fresh and tender! I ordered a lamb gyro and sambosa and everything was amazing. Gyro meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned. My favorite part was the sauce. Sambosa wasn't too spicy and very comforting. We got our food pretty quickly for a sit-down restaurant. Ordering process was easy and staff were very courteous and helpful. This restaurant features authentic afghan floor-style seating as well as nice booths and tables. Overall a very clean and organized restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

The lady working there knew it was going to be busy (especially with Ramadan ending), yet she was constantly on the phone and not attentive. Even simple questions like "What do you recommend?" were met with poor service. The food itself is good, I can't complain about that. However, the portions for the price are not worth it. On top of that, the ice cream area was completely unsanitary. I had already paid, and it was very difficult to get a refund. I had to wait more than 15 minutes for someone to assist me, while a man who seemed like the owner or manager was yelling in the kitchen. I decided to order based on previous reviews, but my experience was nothing like that. While serving my ice cream, some of it fell onto the counter, and instead of discarding it, he picked it up with his hand ( with a glove) and put it back in the cup. That was unacceptable. The pistachio topping was left completely open on the counter, right next to where people were passing by in line. I was given just a small portion (maybe 8-10 oz) with a spoon of pistachio for $12--not worth it at all. Overall, not worth the visit.

I prefer more robust flavors from Indian and specifically Pakistani food over the "salt & pepper" style seasoning (with turmeric for color) of Afghan food. I tried what they call their Shami kabob, which is actually a seekh kabob. I got a side of chick peas with it. The flavor of the kabob was actually quite nice (for Afghan food). The chick peas were as basic as I would expect from this style of food. Their potatoes looked great, but unfortunately were extremely bland and unflavored. Their naan was pretty good and perfectly baked, so it was slightly crusty while flexible enough to eat with and still flavorful. My preference if for spicier food, so I asked for an extra spicy green sauce. Fortunately, my dish came with their white sauce too. The white sauce had an incredible flavor! So much more flavor than the green sauce, even though the green sauce had slight spice, mostly from the vinegar in it. Their rice looked great and had the appropriate amount of seasoning and flavor you'd expect, regardless of style of Middle Eastern food you're enjoying. Service was excellent! They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even checked on us. The place was pretty clean for a kabob joint as well. Overall, it was a decent visit, but unfortunately for me, it left me wanting more... more spice and depth of flavor. But for the average American, you'd probably really enjoy this place.

The pumpkin dumplings and pan fried veggie filled dumplings were great as well. I thought my salmon wrap and the chickpea side was ok. Interesting flavors for sure. As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

Got a combo of chicken kabob and shami kabob along with a side of their borani banjan/eggplant dish. The eggplant was honestly one of my favorite things- it's a must get in my opinion. Homey dish with incredible flavors! Their naan is fresh and pairs well with it. The chicken was good, but I've had better honestly. The shami was a little disappointing as I expected more flavor and it was slightly dry, but good. Their rice was so tasty and I loved the sweetness coming from the carrots an raisins. Of course, the sheeryakh was great- quite a big portion for one person, but I loved the texture. It tastes very similar to the Indian/South Asian/Pakistani ice cream, "Kulfi." CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: Service needs improvement. The whole time I was there I had to keep looking for waiters to make eye contact with to ask for menu, water, paying, etc. It took about 10 min or more for me to have to call a busy waiter over just to look at the menu- no one came over on their own. Things just took time for a Saturday night- plus they were hosting an event on top of this. Needless to say, I've never had service like this, but the vibe and food made me be not as harsh. Despite the service, this place is a must try for authentic Afghan cuisine. Can't wait to try more of their menu (and the borani banjan again) in the future!

We were also a party of five but were only given one menu to share so not very convenient. I ordered the Chicken & Shami Kabob and it came with a choice of white or brown rice, one side, and naan. The meal looked nothing like the photo on the restaurant's website. The portion was overwhelmingly rice with very little meat. None of the garnishes shown in the picture were included on the rice. For $24 I expected a much better presentation and a more balanced portion. Oh and the meat was kind of dry. Parts of our order were missing, some dishes that came out were incorrect. The experience felt disorganized and the food didn't justify the price.

As for the staff, this restaurant has provided more work for the local high school population than any other. The turnover is minimal as most have been working here for many years which says a lot about the working environment. This is a beloved local establishment that gives back to the local community in many ways. It's a home away from home with good food, fairly priced menu options and an awesome ambiance. First the positives: I ordered the Gyro with fries and really enjoyed it. Not the best Gyro I have ever had, but good. The other three members of my family ordered different chicken dishes and all three were bad. Overall they were very bland. Using a little seasoning during cooking goes a long way. The chicken on the dishes seemed boiled. I guess this is an easy way to get tender chicken, but man does it remove the flavor! My wife's chicken had tendon and grizzle through out. My daughter's Marsala was gross. Seemed to be a Jared gravy. The wait staff really should not be wearing jeans, especially since the dining room seems nice (except for the paper table cloths.).
