I prefer more robust flavors from Indian and specifically Pakistani food over the "salt & pepper" style seasoning (with turmeric for color) of Afghan food. I tried what they call their Shami kabob, which is actually a seekh kabob. I got a side of chick peas with it. The flavor of the kabob was actually quite nice (for Afghan food). The chick peas were as basic as I would expect from this style of food. Their potatoes looked great, but unfortunately were extremely bland and unflavored. Their naan was pretty good and perfectly baked, so it was slightly crusty while flexible enough to eat with and still flavorful. My preference if for spicier food, so I asked for an extra spicy green sauce. Fortunately, my dish came with their white sauce too. The white sauce had an incredible flavor! So much more flavor than the green sauce, even though the green sauce had slight spice, mostly from the vinegar in it. Their rice looked great and had the appropriate amount of seasoning and flavor you'd expect, regardless of style of Middle Eastern food you're enjoying. Service was excellent! They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even checked on us. The place was pretty clean for a kabob joint as well. Overall, it was a decent visit, but unfortunately for me, it left me wanting more... more spice and depth of flavor. But for the average American, you'd probably really enjoy this place.

So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

The meal looked nothing like the photo on the restaurant's website. The portion was overwhelmingly rice with very little meat. None of the garnishes shown in the picture were included on the rice. For $24 I expected a much better presentation and a more balanced portion. Oh and the meat was kind of dry. Parts of our order were missing, some dishes that came out were incorrect. This restaurant is family owned for a few decades and is one that survived the pandemic because of the loyalty of their patrons. This place has everything you need from a quick bite to a full blown multi course meal. If there is something special desired the owners will go out of their way to accommodate even if not on the menu. As for the staff, this restaurant has provided more work for the local high school population than any other. The turnover is minimal as most have been working here for many years which says a lot about the working environment. This is a beloved local establishment that gives back to the local community in many ways. It's a home away from home with good food, fairly priced menu options and an awesome ambiance. And I would put their wait staff up against the finest restaurants. What comes across is a sincerity to ensure your dining experience is something you want to repeat. The chicken on the dishes seemed boiled. I guess this is an easy way to get tender chicken, but man does it remove the flavor! My wife's chicken had tendon and grizzle through out.
