Super fresh salmon and avocado sushi and the tenderest beef in Japchae. The folks were kind, and funny. You get a discount if you use cash, and more if over $30. Walked in for take out and waited outside. It works!

Unique tea / ceramic shop / Korean food joint on a gentrifying area of Lake Shore! As you watch people walk by, it's an interesting slice of life. Upon entering, I told the owner that I was looking for something to eat and she handed me a simple menu. The is a mishmash of furniture and other items in the store including deep freezers, shelves with Asian ceramics, and even a piano. ***Some item menus weren't available, so it may depend on the day you visit!*** We ordered 2 items: Kimbap ($5.50) & Beef Stew ($10.50). Out of the 2 items, the Kimbap was the star! Kimbap came with sides, including Korean glass noodles and kimchi. Kimbap was freshly made! As far as I'm concerned, this is a must-order! 5/5 Beef Stew, on the other hand, came out piping hot, salty, & quite spicy. (Definitely a more than just medium spicy!) There seemed to be more veg (kimchi, onions) than small slices of meat. I also had to pick out some pieces of fat. Not sure if this was Yukgaejang, but the beef was in small slices, not shredded. 2.5-3/5 If I'm in the area, I'd definitely stop by and pick up a Kimbab and perhaps try another kind of stew - asking if it can be less spicy/salty.

I was looking for potential lunch spots for when I don't have time to commute home between classes and I stumbled upon this place. It's super hard to find, as it's nestled in among all the other businesses lining Lakeshore, but I'm so glad I ended up going. It's small, so maybe not the best if you want a secluded spot to eat or plan to get some Korean food with a large group. The ambiance is that of the owner's home. You can see the ingredients and all the cute little plants and decorations around the restaurant, and you can watch your food being made. The menu is simple, and covers at least one of the staples you might crave when you're in the mood for Korean. I tried Gimbap for the first time and it was just as good as I imagined. The ingredients were fresh and it's clear that the woman who served us knows how to cook and loves doing so. She was extremely kind and added to the comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I went back here many times more and will update my reviews again. Never get disappointed with this place. I will very miss the owner and her food when i graduate from Humber. I love her food, very quality and ask u for how was the food. But i think she doesnt need to ask me about it, bc i also enjoy her food and content with it haha. Even her menu still like that, not too much, but i still not get bored of it. For me, this is the key to help her food get the balance of quality. She invests a lot for her food, i feel like she gives all her love in them. Not only me, an Asian girl, my friends from Western also love it. Pork bones soup, kim chi soup or beef soup, i love all!! Dont be shy to ask her for hot sauce to make tasty, some kimchi for banchan, because she is very generous, like ur mom, never say no to feed u, trust me!

Really great home cooked Korean food. They make all of their kimchi in house and you can taste the difference.
