Unfortunately bad ): went Sunday evening. I really wanted to like this place, seeing that it was very close to where I'm staying (200+ bx) but it was extremely disappointing. Ordered the lamb over rice and chicken over rice. Long wait. No parking. They put on a lot of white and red sauce as I requested, and I was pleased with the visuals. The lamb was pretty good, no off flavor or the smell of old lamb. The chicken was fine, although a bit tough. The sauce was also fine, although the red sauce was not spicy at all. My container was covered with red but it was not spicy. The rice was the biggest culprit of the low rating. The rice had a stale and also odd smell; it was old and seasoned in an odd way. Much of the rice were burnt and stuck together: it was the brown residue stuck on the side of pans after reusing it multiple times without washing. Overall I could not eat any of the rice so I picked out only the meat. I hope this was a one time experience. read more

This is a great place to get delicious and if you want healthy fast food. I couldn't post a picture because I was too excited to eat my sandwich. I got the heart attack on a roll and also a Philly cheese steak on a wedge for my husband. 2 sandwiches 2 drinks and a bowl of fruit for $18 in the city? Its great for students and close to Lehman College. Final thought it was so clean, I usually skim lunch when I'm in school because all the nearby places are so filthy but this place is pristine. I have been living in the area for about 3-4 years. I did not know about this place until about a year ago. It's always busy no matter what time of day you go (especially between 11am-3pm). The staff is very friendly. They are pretty fast and also make sure they get your order right, unlike most places in the area. Expect to wait approx 10 mins for your food since it is a deli after all they have to make it, friendly staff, delicious fresh food. I work overnight and I always see them putting fresh food and veggies. Never had any problems with my orders, the peanut berry lover and Latin sensation smoothies are my favorites, they açaí bowls are so good as well as the salads... prices are reasonable... Great place to get healthy food within two to four blocks. Probably even more because they are serious about their business. I'm here every day, and it's because I'm conscious on what goes into my body more than ever. They still have items like Coke and sprite that aren't favorable but they have ALOT of stuff that's organic. They are the first of its kind in this area, and I will miss it when I move on. read more

Awesome place to have in my neighborhood with healthy delicious food. Try the Peanut Butter Lovers shake. Probably the best shake I have ever had. One of the only gourmet food spots in this area located near Montefiore Hospital. It stays busy and the food is fresh. I go here at least once a week. read more

I've lived on gunhill for over 3 years and never knew about this place. My GF found it last night on her way home from the gym. She was looking for a place that has healthy smoothies. I told her GOODLUCK because I've never seen anything around here. And boom she finds this place! It's awesome. She got herself a smoothie and salad and got me a turkey sandwich. Today we ordered a chicken and rice platter! Soooooo good! We never know what to get when we are home and lazy to cook because ordering pizza all the time is not what we want. At least it's 24 hours. This place gives you a ton of options! I've been looking for a place to get salad from in the Bronx for forever! There's a million options for you to choose from and it's only $7 for a small and $9 for a large. I usually pay about $12 in the city for a good salad. There smoothies are pretty good as well. It can be busy depending on the day and time you go but they try to move pretty fast. I'm so happy i found a healthy food option in the Bronx now that has reasonable prices. read more

In terms of taste and selection, this place is easily 4 stars. However, I am giving it 3 because the service is often rude (but that could be cuz they're so busy that they want you out fast) and the prices change from day to day if you don't order from the menu. Also, they charge randomly for chips and such, too. A bag of chips one day will cost $2 and $3 the next. A bonus is that they often had out free samples of their yummy smoothies. I live and work nearby so I am always here. Tasty Picks is absolutely amazing. I've been here well over 20 times and have ordered all types of things on the menu. Everything is quality, appropriately priced, and delicious. Firstly, their smoothies are incredible. I particularly like the peanut butter smoothies. The staff here will always give you a taste of smoothies as well. If you aren't sure what you want, just ask for their recommendations. They really know how to make smoothies here. I also love their sandwiches. Whether you get something with breaded chicken, avocado, hummus, turkey bacon, eggs, etc., it's always delicious and they will make whatever you want. This is also my go to place in the area for chopped salads. I love that they will put fresh green apples, cranberries, avocado, egg white, whatever you want in the salad. They have fantastic dressings as well. There's also always about 8 different types of chicken to put in the salad too if you choose. They recently started this Mexican bowl thing that I also love. Their chicken tinga is excellent and you get this massive bowl with rice, beans, meat of your choosing, cheese, sour cream, avocado, salsa, peppers, etc. They'll even add whatever you want from the salad bar to your Mexican bowl. The people who work here are extremely nice and they really care about making your belly happy. They love to give you samples of new items and if they think that something you're ordering isn't good, they will very nicely let you know that they recommend something else instead. The juice bar is the only issue they're selection of different smoothies are great but they need to keep a constant person Everytime I go I buy the same drink and it taste different every single time. They have a secret smoothie on the weekends called honeymoon first time I tried it by far best smoothie I've had second time I ordered was a different color plus the person who made it had an attitude cause I mentioned it wasn't the same ingredients used the first time. read more

I went in for tacos and a steak burrito. The guy working behind the counter that was taking my order was completely disinterested and inattentive. I had to keep repeating myself. The menu did not list what's in the burrito (I was able to specify what went in the tacos) so when they handed it to me I told him I thought I got to choose what went in it since the menu doesn't say and asked him what was in it. He rolled his eyes and told me, somewhat. My 'steak' burrito was definitely cheap shaved beef, NOT steak in the slightest, and for some reason the burrito had green peppers in it. He said there was guacamole in it and it looked like the guy dropped the burrito near the guac but it never actually made it inside. The food service was trash, the food was overpriced trash, and I'd definitely not go here again. The guy behind the register was really nice and honestly, was the only redeeming quality about the place. Anthony's Famous Deli down the street has a fresh salad bar too and the best sandwiches in the neighborhood, I'll be sure to stick to them next time. read more

I tried this place for the first time today. I'm not a frequent yelper, but these guys definitely deserved the time to enter this 5-Star rating. It looks fresh and new from the street... great 1st impression. I walk in and it's like a fish market... as in it's super crowded. That's ok, provided the food is good. I look up at the options and I'm BLOWN AWAY! They have anything and everything imaginable for all sorts of taste buds... salads for the lettuce lovers, jerk for Jamaican, burrito bowls for Mexican, Halaal food, sandwiches, smoothies, protein shakes, finger foods (regular/cheese/curly fries, onion rings, etc), exotic drinks and exotic chips, açaí bows! I mean what do they not have? Amazing variety! I ordered the "iron man" sandwich which was teriyaki tofu, avocado and vegan mayo/mozzerella... very original! I got spicy Thai quinoa chips... again, super original! Then when you go to the register, the price is phenomenal! $11! Of course not cheap, but definitely not expensive either for quality and variety of food they offer. I'll definitely go back and try lots of other stuff here. Very happy and satisfied! I hope they do well, and keep up the phenomenal work - staff is great also! Very respectful and accommodating, despite the crowded space! They definitely earned my respect and my 5 stars! Would come here a lot, but started noticing everytime I would check out (with the same stuff) everyday, they would quote me different prices. One day it would be $10 the next it would be $10.75. They don't label any of their products either, so you, as the customer, can't double check their math or even see if the produce is still fresh. Finally, today I decided to confront them about their different quotes and they got super defensive and rattled off a whole bunch of numbers that still did not add up to the amount they wanted to charge me; so needless to say I won't be back. They should really invest in a calculator and label maker. read more
