I just had this Tasty Pot today and wowy wow it was super delicious. My friends have been telling me about hot pot and were overjoyed when I heard about this place. The staff were very friendly and inviting and attentive as well. The place was very clean and I love the decor. Okay the food, was amazing. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach because I ordered extra add ons. I got the Beef Hot Soup in mild with rice on the side. For add ons I got extra beef and extra meat ball. I also got the fried tofu. Everything looked and smelled amazing. It was flavorful and very appealing to the eye presentation wise. Pricing is not bad, I feel it's on par with hot pot places. You order from the app which is really nice but they also got menus if you're not tech savvy. All in all I gotta say from my first time my opinion on the place is it's 10/10. I just love tasty pot, no matter which location! I am happy there is one in N. County, for real. The staff is fun friendly and very efficient. Same concept as other Tasty pots: order through your phone (or ask help if you need or don't have a phone). I love their appetizers, huge plus for the stinky tofu and MaLa spicy pot. Came here around 11:40am on a weekday and the restaurant was empty. One other couple came in half an hour later, and that was it the whole time we were there. The restaurant decor is kind of simple but cute. It is clean and has a nice, clean gender neutral bathroom. They offer happy hour all day Monday through Friday with some very affordable appetizers and drinks. Service was good, we were checked on a couple of times to make sure everything was alright. The two of us chose to share a Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup Pot with a few add ons: taro, udon, and steamed dumplings. That was plenty of food, but I am sure some bigger eaters could finish one pot each. We ordered the Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup medium spicy and it was rather spicy already. It came with a very good variety of meat, seafood, tofu products, and vegetables. I was so disappointed this time. I took my friend since I told her such great things about my last visit. This time it was not good. We ordered the calamari. It was so salty we couldn't eat it. The owner took it off our tab. We ordered the Japanese miso hot pot. There was no flavor to the broth at all. Luckily they have sauces to fix it a little. This is an update review. They have now been operating some time. We can tell they are increasingly popular. In the shared parking lot with walmart there is hardly any parking lots available now. We were seated immediately and served immediately. They have online ordering, menus and even just taking verbal orders now. Our server was super nice. We got two sets of hot pots. - Taiwan spicy hotpot - customised seafood sichuan hot pot. And a set of egg rolls We were served our food within 10 min of ordering food was nice and hot. Lots of ingredients in the soup and fresh. Mine had intestines and blood sausage rice and it was fantastic. The egg rolls were nice and crispy fresh out of the pan. My husband's was good as well because I stole from him. The seafood was incredibly fresh. I might want to add though that perhaps for the lobster they may want to slice it more so that it is easier to remove from the shell. Unfortunately because we are moving out of town. Had a good experience. I rate this place relative to its location, which isn't exactly a bastion of Chinese cuisine like SGV or Irvine. But I found that the flavor and quality here upholds what is essential to Taiwanese-style individual hot pots. If you've had Boiling Point before, Tasty Pot is equivalent, albeit not as flavorful. I got the Taiwanese Spicy, very spicy level. The kick was appropriate for the spice level, they didn't tone it down for the local customer thankfully. The ingredients were plentiful and what I would expect from such a hot pot, even including things such as blood-rice blocks, dried beancurd, and intestine. I was surprised they even serve a stinky tofu pot. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who really wants this type of food and is in the area. read more

Tasty Pot Oceanside is a brand that is already established north of Oceanside and throughout the Riverside area. They have a formula that has been working for them and it shows. Tasty Pot Oceanside is located off of Mission Ave., just west of the 5 Hwy, and within the Walmart Shopping Center. My first observation is that parking may be a little difficult, especially when the shared lot gets crowded. I'm just glad that, to my experience, the timed-restricted parking spaces aren't really enforced. I was able to park up for 2.5 hours for dinner. The interior decor is really simple , trendy & cute. It definitely leans into casual dining, so no need to get dressed up. It's spacious enough and great for group seating and family dinners. The music was trendy and upbeat and the lighting is bright. The service is excellent, fast and friendly. I love their selection of Japanese Soju flavors & they have a solid % content to boot; try lychee! In addition, they also carry Premium Lager. For appetizers, I had their Chicken Cartilage and it was excellent! It's crispy with that salty pepper finish. I also ordered the Fermented Tofu (aka Stinky Tofu). I loved both of these dishes. Dinner was a medley of: 1 cheese hot pot 2 lamb hot pot 3 Veggie Hot Pot 4 curry hot pot And they were all divine! I admittedly didn't think much of the veggie, but I believe that all the delicious flavors from the others outshined in this parade; but I am definitely glad they have it as an option. What I REALLY love about Tasty Pot Oceanside is that they have discounts for students, teachers AND our military! But please keep in mind their business hours. I'm glad one came up to North County! We need more hot pot places. It's a little different from what I remembered about the one in SD, this one serves other apps. We went with the popcorn chicken and it was one of the best one I've tried! So crunchy. They even fry the skin. I do wish we can change the spice level, like have the chili powder like in boba shops. As for the hot pot, prices start around $20ish. I got the large Taiwanese house one and it came with everything. Lots of cabbage but lots of meats too. I liked all the meats except the intestine one and blood cake. Next time I'll ask without it. Great flavors! You can even add spice to it with the several sauces on the side. Service was friendly. I'm a regular at the Tasty Pot in Mira Mesa and happened to on the way home from LA. I was craving hot pot but didn't want to make a detour into Irvine as those restaurants are usually packed. I was originally thinking of going towards Mira Mesa for Tasty Pot but this location popped up on google maps and it is right off the freeway! A few details such as the bowls are slightly different but the taste is relatively the same. This tasty pot was exactly what I needed on my drive back to San Diego. The service was fast, friendly, and the restaurant itself is very clean and has plenty of seats. Since this does seem like a relatively new restaurant it doesn't have much of a clientele yet. Honestly, I was so excited to come here when I heard a tasty pot opened in oside. I'm from SD and normally go to the location there, but I was visiting my grandma and brought her out to eat. Definitely disappointed in the service and how they handled things. We came for dinner on January 10th and were the 2nd table right after they just opened. We ordered all of our food way before any other tables came in yet I got my pot almost AN HOUR after it was ordered. They brought out one pot at a time and were giving multiple other tables their pots first even when they sat way after us. I was hoping to have a nice dinner with my grandma and cousin, but ended up eating at all separate times. By the time my pot came out my rice was cold and I was just not in the mood to eat anymore. I know they're a new business and all, but this wasn't even their grand opening. Not sure if I'll give them another chance when I'm in town. We are big fans of the Tasty Pot in Miramesa and we were excited when they opened one in Oceanside. Although they are the same franchise, the main dishes are the same but they do v do have many other options available. The great thing about the Oceanside location is they have a ton of appetizers, as well as Soju. Flavor of the pots are similar to Miramesa however, the pots in Miramesa have a little bit more flavor in my opinion. They do come close though, and are worth saving me a 45 minute drive to Mira Mesa. The owner is usually there and she's a very friendly lady, customer service is top-notch in this location, which is an advantage compared to the Mira Mesa location . This location is pretty clean and the atmosphere is decent, not over Classy or fast foodish. However, I don't like the you only get two napkins with your meal and have to ask for more. That always bugs me no matter where I go. All in all the Mira Mason location has a little bit better flavor in their pots, but the Oceanside location has better customer service with more appetizers and options available. I was looking forward to eating here being highly rated. But I was disappointed when I ordered the tomatoes hot soup. It came out with my specific order requests which is a plus, and she was very sweet. But my first muscle tasted off so I spit it out... I continued giving them a break because muscles are difficult to cook fresh for every customer. But it was the same case with the clams, the shrimp, the scallop too(I'm not sure what they were). I also ordered the pork on the side because I already felt like this dish was overloaded, and it was very thin, dry, and had no flavor. This is okay usually because it goes with the soup, but if you like your pork thick with some fat and flavor in your soup this is not for you. On the other hand I appreciated the setup of soy sauce, soy paste, and chili oil on each table in the gold, it adds a nice touch. The presentation with the fire is also very fun! The dish itself is pretty big. There's a lot of cabbage which I enjoyed. I can eat cabbage all day. The spice scale for Tasty Pot is a bit on the weaker side, in my opinion. Was excited to try this place after learning about them through Yelp and we finally got the chance today. We were greeted at the door and sat at a corner table. Our server explained that we needed to scan the QR code to go to the online ordering app. Not sure I understand the benefit of ordering via the app instead of just ordering through the server especially when it didn't appear that I could pay via the app (maybe you can, I just didn't see an option). We ordered the Sizzling Beef and the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup. The Sizzling Beef comes on a very hot cast iron plate. They added paper "guard rails" around the plate so you won't burn yourself. The entree had a huge wad of garlic butter sitting on top and at first, we thought it was an egg but once it melted you had to stir everything up. This is one of the most garlicky dishes I have ever tried and I loved it! For my plate, I ordered the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup which comes out on a special table grill, which even had a flame underneath if you want it. I didn't find it necessary as the soup was already super hot. This dish was fantastic with ingredients that I've never had before like cuttlefish, blood rice cake, pork intestine, fuzhou fish balls and enoki mushrooms in a pork bone soup. It was delish and at the end it barely looked like I had a made a dent. It's a huge bowl and you will have leftovers. Service was great. Our lunches came with a free drink (water or green tea) which was nice. They do have beer on the menu too and I saw another table drinking shots that might have been sake. I loved this place! I grew up in the 626 ( Arcadia) and after a long rainy hike, this was just what I needed to revive my soul. The portions were huge, flavor on point, and spice level were perfect. I got the Taiwanese hot pot with medium spice level (9/10) and my friend got the Sichuan style hot pot which ran spicier so def level down (9/10). Would come back here in a heartbeat. service was great ( worker actually warned my friend about the spice level) and food came out quick. Gem in Oceanside. Ambiance is casual. My review is mainly for the service. Food was 3 stars, but an extra star for wonderful service. Which is what will make me come back. Food can be improved, bad attitudes, not so much. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I felt most welcome here and it was as though l was among family. I have had hot pot before but it was Little Sheep Hot Pot near Convoy which l believe is now closed down. And although they are similar in name (both hot pot establishments), that's about where the similarity ends. I was expecting it to be similar to my experiences but it wasn't as similar as I was hoping. Being that Little Sheep is my only prior experience with any hot pot, l knew to expect hot soup. Instead of it being cooked on a burner in the table, it is over a small flame which is completely covered by the pot. The bowl or "pot" here is much smaller than I was used to. I ordered the basic beef because the staff recommended it to me. I was tempted to try the creamy cheese type broth. Maybe next time. The beef broth, however, was sadly very bland. I do like that they have 3 little jars of condiments to add to your soup or any food you order. Unfortunately for me, someone switched the lids with the labels. So instead of adding a garlicky type of soy sauce to my soup, I unknowingly added chili oil. So that wasn't a happy experience. I like to try all the things when l go to a new place so I ordered the rice cakes and 2-3 types of noodles to see what l liked. The vermicelli noodles were good, and l also liked the ramen noodles (they all came hard and uncooked so you cook them in the soup). I really liked the chewy texture of the rice cakes but I've had them before and knew what to expect. They aren't for everyone. I appreciated them having a rose tea drink. I haven't found many places that serve a rose tea/boba in north county so it was awesome to see it here! I love how it seems that hot pot restaurants have a good selection of drinks. Often with boba, but not here due to some possible competition from another business in the shopping center also selling boba drinks. Which is unfortunate but understandable. The atmosphere is very casual. Cozy. Bright. I aim to return to try the cheese/milk broth at some point. Definitely a fun experience if you've never had hot pot before! read more

Heard they opened a Tasty Pot in Oceanside so of course we had to try it out. This place did not disappoint. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Sat. The inside is pretty small but we were seated right away for a party of 6. During the dinner rush they put out an electronic wait list. If it's your first time the host will explain the ordering process. All orders are done electronically. There is a QR code of the menu at the table. (Don't worry, if you are not computer savvy they do have actual menus.). Once you place your order the food started coming out fairly quick. I ordered the mango green tea, fried calamari and the sizzling beef plate with udon noodles. My husband ordered the curry hot soup with rice. We decided no spice in our meal since there were chili oil, garlic sauce and soybean sauce at the table which we could mix our own sauce to taste. The food was soo good. Came out piping hot and the flavors were delicious. The beef was tender and juicy. This place does not disappoint. No need to drive all the way to Mira Mesa for Tasty Pot.
