Located in a large plaza with a decent-sized parking lot, Tasty Pot is a good hot pot spot. I especially enjoyed the sesame balls, they were my favorite. The soybean sauce added a lot of flavor to my hot pot, and their appetizers were also delightful. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was clean and charming.

I whine a lot about Chinese-ish American food, but this place in Oceanside is NOT making the list. I enjoy a steaming hot bowl of mostly stuff I can't identify that tastes really good. nobody in the TASTY POT kitchen went out of their way to dumb-down the ingredient list for American palates. we started with the POPCORN CHICKEN and FIRECRACKER SHRIMP both standard appetizers we've eaten at dozens of other places. but, after that, we took a log walk on an unfamiliar side of the street. 2 quick disclosures: I REALLY like spicy food but ordered medium and figured I could spike things with the condiments which included chili oil as needed. not needed. even their medium SPICY HOT SOUPS are plenty spicy. also, servings are oversized and budget friendly for sharing or grazing on the next day. these are the three soups we ordered and their long list of ingredients: #9 TAIWANESE SPICY HOT SOUP (Taiwanese cabbage, instant noodles, sliced beef, beef tendon, enoki mushrooms, clams, fuzhou fishballs, cuttlefish rings, pork blood rice cake, pork intestines, fried tofu skins, brown beech mushrooms, tofu, imitation crabmeat, meatball, sour mustard greens, fried tofu puff, cilantro, and scallions in a pork bone broth). #7 KIMCHI DUMPLING HOT SOUP (Taiwanese cabbage, sliced pork, kimchi, dumplings, vermicelli, mini sausage, shrimp, enoki mushrooms, kamaboko, tempura, clam, fuzhou fishballs, soft tofu, fried tofu skin, zucchini, imitation crabmeat, egg, and scallions in a pork bone broth). #4 CURRY FLAVOR HOT SOUP (Napa cabbage, sliced pork, vermicelli, tomato, corn, egg, enoki mushrooms, imitation crabmeat, kamaboko, fishballs, fried tofu skin, tempura, Chinese string beans, golden fishballs, king oyster mushrooms, eggie fishballs, lobster balls, and scallions in a pork bone broth). all were good. reminder for next time: get extra beef tendons -- love the unctuous texture.

My friend and I came here because we were craving hot pot. It was not busy when we came during dinner time on a Friday night. Service was really good. You scan a QR code for the menu and can order and pay from your phone. We ordered sesame balls and basil popcorn chicken to start. We both really enjoyed the appetizers. I ordered the beef hot soup for my main course and got it super spicy. The spice level and flavor was good however, I felt there was too much cabbage and not enough noodles.

I was so disappointed this time. I took my friend since I told her such great things about my last visit. This time it was not good. We ordered the calamari. It was so salty we couldn't eat it. The owner took it off our tab. We ordered the Japanese miso hot pot. There was no flavor to the broth at all. Luckily they have sauces to fix it a little. The place was empty and the owner just sat and ate and didn't come by. Very unwelcoming. My friend says she won't be back. I'm not sure I will be either. The happy hour is not great. They just give you half an order.

I just had this Tasty Pot today and wowy wow it was super delicious. My friends have been telling me about hot pot and were overjoyed when I heard about this place. The staff were very friendly and inviting and attentive as well. The place was very clean and I love the decor. Okay the food, was amazing. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach because I ordered extra add ons. I got the Beef Hot Soup in mild with rice on the side. For add ons I got extra beef and extra meat ball. I also got the fried tofu. Everything looked and smelled amazing. It was flavorful and very appealing to the eye presentation wise. Pricing is not bad, I feel it's on par with hot pot places. You order from the app which is really nice but they also got menus if you're not tech savvy. All in all I gotta say from my first time my opinion on the place is it's 10/10. It's great that we finally got a Tasty Pot in Oceanside. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This is an update review. They have now been operating some time. We can tell they are increasingly popular. In the shared parking lot with walmart there is hardly any parking lots available now. We were seated immediately and served immediately. They have online ordering, menus and even just taking verbal orders now. Our server was super nice. We got two sets of hot pots. - Taiwan spicy hotpot - customised seafood sichuan hot pot. And a set of egg rolls We were served our food within 10 min of ordering food was nice and hot. Lots of ingredients in the soup and fresh. Mine had intestines and blood sausage rice and it was fantastic. The egg rolls were nice and crispy fresh out of the pan. My husband's was good as well because I stole from him. The seafood was incredibly fresh. I might want to add though that perhaps for the lobster they may want to slice it more so that it is easier to remove from the shell. Unfortunately because we are moving out of town. This might be the last time we are here. We will miss them a lot!! Thanks for a wonderful night of delicious food and wonderful service.

Oceanside California now has a great Taiwanese Hotpot Spot named Tasty Pot Oceanside. I was able to check them out and now I can say that I've thoroughly enjoyed delicious hotpot! Tasty Pot Oceanside is a brand that is already established north of Oceanside and throughout the Riverside area. They have a formula that has been working for them and it shows. Tasty Pot Oceanside is located off of Mission Ave., just west of the 5 Hwy, and within the Walmart Shopping Center. My first observation is that parking may be a little difficult, especially when the shared lot gets crowded. I'm just glad that, to my experience, the timed-restricted parking spaces aren't really enforced. I was able to park up for 2.5 hours for dinner. The interior decor is really simple , trendy & cute. It definitely leans into casual dining, so no need to get dressed up. It's spacious enough and great for group seating and family dinners. The music was trendy and upbeat and the lighting is bright. The service is excellent, fast and friendly. I love their selection of Japanese Soju flavors & they have a solid % content to boot; try lychee! In addition, they also carry Premium Lager. For appetizers, I had their Chicken Cartilage and it was excellent! It's crispy with that salty pepper finish. I also ordered the Fermented Tofu (aka Stinky Tofu). I loved both of these dishes. Dinner was a medley of: 1 cheese hot pot 2 lamb hot pot 3 Veggie Hot Pot 4 curry hot pot And they were all divine! I admittedly didn't think much of the veggie, but I believe that all the delicious flavors from the others outshined in this parade; but I am definitely glad they have it as an option. What I REALLY love about Tasty Pot Oceanside is that they have discounts for students, teachers AND our military! But please keep in mind their business hours. They open early, but then closed for lunch and then re-open for dinner. Consider calling to confirm they are opened if just swinging through. Overall, I love Tasty Pot Oceanside as an addition of diversification to our city's eclectic dining options.

I'm glad one came up to North County! We need more hot pot places. It's a little different from what I remembered about the one in SD, this one serves other apps. We went with the popcorn chicken and it was one of the best one I've tried! So crunchy. They even fry the skin. I do wish we can change the spice level, like have the chili powder like in boba shops. As for the hot pot, prices start around $20ish. I got the large Taiwanese house one and it came with everything. Lots of cabbage but lots of meats too. I liked all the meats except the intestine one and blood cake. Next time I'll ask without it. Great flavors! You can even add spice to it with the several sauces on the side. Service was friendly. Place was empty around 1-2. I love hot pot!! Now wish there's an all you can eat one.

On our way home I suddenly crave for Hot Soup. Usually, I stop by the Tasty Pot at Mira Mesa but I can't wait any more to have something warm in my Stomach. So we decided to try the TASTY POT in OCEANSIDE. Upon arriving I noticed the place was small but we still stayed because I know Tasty Pots are good. It was in October when we went and I believe it was their 1 year anniversary being open so they have that special that month that the third soup was half off. We ordered what we usually get which are : * CURRY FLAVOR HOT SOUP * SEAFOOD LOBSTER HOT SOUP *TAIWANESE SUPREME HOT SOUP All the soups were good, my Favorite is the THAIWANESE SUPREME HOT SOUP. We choose not to have them spicy so my Son can eat some of our soup too, there's spices anyway on the side you can add if you like them spicy. All are soups were as good as I expected, but I feel like the Mira Mesa branch had more amount of ingredients in their soup. But customer service wise this location all the staff are very nice and attentive. We will still make a stop here to eat since their food and service are good here.

The establishment was clean with plenty of seating. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Our waiter was wonderful, very friendly, made us laugh, and so prompt with topping off our beverages. 10/10 service. The food! My boyfriend and I got the Taiwanese hot pot, it was full of goodies, the broth (medium) was packed with rich flavor. Perfectly spicy. I loved the baby octopus. I got the Thai hot pot (medium) again full of flavor, perfect kick of spice, and full of little goodies to find in each little corner. I loved about every little thing in it except the intestines but that's just not my thing. 10/10 I'm coming back.

I'm a regular at the Tasty Pot in Mira Mesa and happened to on the way home from LA. I was craving hot pot but didn't want to make a detour into Irvine as those restaurants are usually packed. I was originally thinking of going towards Mira Mesa for Tasty Pot but this location popped up on google maps and it is right off the freeway! A few details such as the bowls are slightly different but the taste is relatively the same. This tasty pot was exactly what I needed on my drive back to San Diego. The service was fast, friendly, and the restaurant itself is very clean and has plenty of seats. Since this does seem like a relatively new restaurant it doesn't have much of a clientele yet. So if you come here there probably won't be much of a wait.

I went during their grand opening a few months back. I can tell they were still getting things together with it. You order on your phone and it's pretty easy. They had most items like the other Tasty Pots do, this location didn't hit the spot for me like the Mira Mesa location does. My broth tasted a tad more bland. But again it might've been Grand Opening jitters. I'll re-review when I get a chance to go back! Overall it's still a solid hot pot place in North County.

This place opened up across from Oceanside high school, and wanted to try it since we love hot pot! This place all you have to do is pick your pot and everything is already cooked for you! We didn't read it properly so we ordered even more meat(beef) but it was so good we devoured it lol! Each individual soup comes with rice or noodles! We got rice and got a side of udon noodles! The place is so cute! The staff are so friendly! The food is so delicious! I love it! We will be back! The pots sit on a high tower so it's closer to your face! (So smart!!!!) and they can turn on the fire for the pot if needed but we didn't bc the food came out hot already! We got the beef pot, and I got mild! It was perfect! Ordered - Kimchi Hot Soup, Spicy Curry Soup and Beef Rice. Broth was developed with proper spices for each soup. Meat for rice could have had a little more flavor but we were able to add it in with the oils provided. Service was kind and responsive. Loooooove that I don't have to drive to Mira Mesa for Tasty Pot. When I lived in Mira Mesa I would literally go twice a week. I always get the Taiwanese pot because it's spicy. Unfortunately at this location it wasn't as spicy as I'm used to, but they were able to give me more spice to solve the problem. The service was great! It wasn't too busy when we went on a Tuesday afternoon, but there was a good amount of people. I think if this place gets busier it'll have a long wait list because the location is a bit smaller. The parking situation can be frustrating if you're trying to park right in front of the restaurant. (Mainly because of all of the Wal Mart carts.) So I would park a little further down to save yourself the headache. 10/10 recommend!! I'll be back in a few days (: read more

Best HOT POT ever! New to the neighborhood. Next to Walmart. Went there on the second day they open, it's a bit busy. But awesome customer service. Like the name TASTY, the broth is super tasty . Was traveling from out of town and craved Asian food. Hot pot was a great idea for dinner. Instantly greeted with a warm friendly welcome and the staff was very attentive. Ordered the medium spicy tomato soup and it was very delicious. I like that the set up was more of a fast food than a big restaurant and the space was perfect and not crowded. The service here is hand down amazing I felt like royalty I ordered the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup(mild contain nuts). Let me tell you something the broth is amazing come's out hot full of flavor. Just in time for the cold winter night. Our fire never went out. Karen our waitress was amazing she definitely needs a raise. She made sure our pot was always full of broth and our cups was always filled with drinks. Tina served us the best intestine in the whole world. I don't even like intestine. The food came out promptly as soon as I ordered through the app the food was at our table surprisingly. This is not the same Tasty Pot franchise although they retained the name. Nothing tastes the same and the quality is subpar. The pots still has the original brand name on it, but they are not cleaned well with tons of burnt food/soup stain all over. We ordered 4 different pots, but all ingredients look the same and you can't tell the difference. Waiter didn't light up the pots. We had to request it. No refill soup offered, we had to request. Then, the refill soup tasted strongly of very old cooking oil (container not washed clean is my guess). This store should not have been allowed to use the Tasty Pot name. I felt duped. The store itself is clean and the wait staff courteous and friendly enough. But, we had to ask multiple times for napkins, lighting pots, refills, utensils, etc. So, not much in terms of service. Stomach feels queasy after eating here today. read more

Came down from North Cali and decided to stop by Tastypot because we have a lot of them Up north and it's a good quality meal when you are feeling some hot soup. Man this one adds an extra layer of complexity, comfort, and service with a smile. We came out of this place so satisfied with the entire dining experience we are considering going again tomorrow! The restaurant is clean and bright, definitely left high expectations as you walk in and it did not disappoint. The soup came out hot with great portion size. The service was also amazing; they're always checking in to make sure everyone was taken care of. My wife and I adore Tasty Pot!! It is one of our top local choices and it is the top local Asian food choice for us. It is small, but they make great use of space to accommodate many customers. It is clean and has a modern look, they even have a small photo area with wings, lights, and decor for the kids to get trendy social media photo ops. Seating seems small but it is plenty for average sized people. They have always greeted us with a smile since our first visit and we have become regulars. We have tried many items on the menu and our personal favorites are the pork dumplings, fried shrimp torpedo rolls, large shrimp, and the best bowl for us is the beef hot soup. And they willwill tailor the level of spicy to your liking! We like our food very spicy but we stick with medium here because hot with have you sweating and nose dripping haha! Everything is always very clean and ready for use on the table. The oils are a great addition to perk up your rice, appetizers, or bowls. The bowls come stove hot and fresh but we turn on the burner and get it boiling and keep it hot. They have a nice selection of Asian beers and will give you a cold glass. The sake is great and will get you lit quick, so be careful! They are very generous all around, service is amazing, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We love Tasty Pot and the staff and we look forward to every single visit! Do not hesitate to go! read more

AMAZING FOOD! I went during dinner hours with a party of 4 and it was pretty full for a Sunday night. We were seated right away. The dining room is smaller than the Mira Mesa location so I know when it gets busier there will be a line. When we first walked in, everyone greeted us. The service was great! Everyone was so nice and attentive. They are located near Wal-Mart so I suggest parking a little further down to save you the headache. Definitely hit the spot as we are approaching soup season, I will be coming back for more! read more

The food here was so delicious and for the price point you could buy one and feed 2 for most people. The Taiwanese supreme is good and it has loads of flavor but I would recommend going for the higher end of spicy to add more to your experience. The environment and food was great and the service was so nice and prompt. read more

I'm so happy to try out a new Taiwanese hot pot today. Tasty Pot did not let me down. We ordered popcorn chicken and calamari for appetizer. It was nice and crispy and full of flavor. As soon as we walked in, we got a friendly greeting and immediate great service. I ordered the lamb hot pot - top quality and came out quick. I ordered mild, just the right amount of spice. First time at Tasty Pot in Oceanside and it was soooo good! The service was really great, the staff was very friendly and very attentive. They handed out complimentary tea and kindly explained everything to me (a hot pot newbie). Everything is personal serving size and I honestly struggled to choose a dish because they all sounded so yummy. I ended up getting the curry pot, and I was not disappointed! The space itself is really open and airy, with a mixture of small tables and larger tables (if you have a bigger party). They were also playing that day's football game on the tv as well as my favorite Kpop band on the speakers--not important of course, but it honestly made the experience that much better because I was jamming to the music, watching the game, and eating great food lol. Overall, I loved it! I'm so glad I found this place at the beginning of fall, because now I have somewhere to go for when the weather gets chilly and I need some warm comfort food. So excited for Tasty Pot to come to Oside!! The place is small compared to some other locations, so go early! You order on your phone via the QR code sitting on your table, but the service is great. Our server was super nice and attentive. Filled our waters and came right away whenever we needed anything. We got the popcorn chicken and it was sooo good! Perfectly crispy, the chicken was tender and juicy, and the flavor was amazing. We also ordered the beef hot pot and the kimchi hot pot (both medium level spicy). Both were delicious. The kimchi is my favorite--the broth is super flavorful. The dumplings were really big and the shrimp was also really large. There are a few sauces (garlic, soybean, & chili) sitting on the table along with little ramekins that you can use to make your own dip for your meat. I definitely recommend this place! SO HAPPY TO HAVE A HOTPOT PLACE IN NORTH COUNTY!!!! I went with my coworker for lunch and were so happy we did! It's like a secret gem of a place. The broths are on point and the sauces are a perfect compliment. The staff so attentive and kind! You can either get your individual or one to share depending on which you order. Each comes with a side of rice or vermicelli noodles, I recommend the rice. If sharing get an extra rice. Mix your own sauce, love the soybean sauce with a bit of the others! Dip the ingredients into the sauce, eat, pour the soup over the rice and enjoy!! They come by to refill your soup for you too! Great for lunch or dinner. I'm so happy this placed opened!! We've been to the one in Mira Mesa but the drive is too far for us. This was our second time eating here and loved it just as much as the first time. We brought friends who had never experienced this type of food before and they enjoyed it as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate to our every need. It was somewhat empty in the restaurant except for us and a few other tables, but they had good music (which my toddler loved) and it ended up being a great spot for our chill Thursday night dinner. The owner is awesome too! She remembered us from last time and that was such a nice welcoming. With the cold weather approaching this is by far one of the best little spots in Oceanside for comfort/feel good food. I'll forever recommend this to ANYONE read more

For some of the best ramen that Oceanside has to offer, I recommend The Wu Lan Ramen located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center, just south of the 76 Hwy. It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

The staff wanted to see if I wanted a take out container. When you see a customer that disengaged with the food, you'd better be wary. Being Asian, I don't like to waste food, but when it's so not good, I'd rather walk away and get something else than to finish a terrible meal. The staff said the boba takes time to prepare and I responded that they should have given a realistic lead time. As a customer, I felt ignored, alienated and forgotten about. I have nothing against different cultures but it's not polite or welcoming for staff to be socializing in a manner that is ethnocentric and exclusionary, acting like customers are invisible. A word of advice to customers: don't tip staff in advance but only tip if they deliver on what was agreed, and no less. Tipping staff who are not truthful or go back on their word is a waste of money. Tipping is not mandatory but only if the service meets expectations. Staff who don't care about their customers are not deserving of tips.

The sandwich wasn't aesthetically pretty on the eyes but the pork marinade was delicious. The cuts of meat were tender and the bread was soft yet crunch in all the right places. 4 stars overall. My only bit of advice is providing patrons with fresh, crisp herbs if you are going to skimp it down to 1 sprig per person.

I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, because their food is still AMAZING and their staff is super nice and I believe deep down inside that they just had a REALLY OFF night. We had reservations for a party of 9 last night. The table was set up nicely and accommodated a few extra if needed, which I thought was cool. We started with some adult beverages: an Old Fashion, some Hotel Nacionals, a Fashionably Late, and a couple of beers. Everything started great. Dennis, our server was very cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the mac and cheese sides and they were delicious with huge pieces of savory bacon in them. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.

I always prefer to provide constructive feedback, especially when the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. The seafood and beef hot pot lacked flavor, and my daughter found the chicken bento box to be similarly bland.
