$14 Ramen Today Only!!' SATURDAY 5/23!! Our favorite LA Ramen Spot is celebrating 14 years and they want you celebrate with them with $14 Ramen for the first 200 customers . I enjoy the bold ramen and the kids love the old skool tonkotsu broth and cheeky which is a chicken based broth. Naked ramen noodles are considered the thicker ramen noodles. I personally prefer the naked ramen noodles. The kiosk ordering is easy to use and if you order anything extra it comes on the side. The new furikake fries with pork was a huge hit and of course fried gyoza. Parking can get tricky on the weekend. We ended up paying $5 for 2 hrs. You can't beat the broth and fun ambiance.

First time here and not likely to return. The food was good but way too expensive. It's a small restaurant and you place your own order through a touch screen and seat yourself. Someone came up and explained the different options but it's pretty self explanatory if you have had ramen before. We both had the "Bold" ramen with chicken. For a side, we had the pickled cucumber. The ramen was okay, but nothing special. I ordered mine a little on the spicier side but it was pretty bland. Not really any spiciness to it. The pickled cucumber was not good at all. Again, just very bland tasting and nothing special about them. The biggest complaint I have is the cost. There is a ramen place back in my home town (we were visiting LA) and ramen is ramen... but back in our hometown the same dish is $10 less than here at Tatsu. There is nothing special about this restaurant; again, you seat yourself and place your own order, but they expect you to tip and they stand there hoovering over you while you pay and have the tip set at 25%. I can never understand places like this. What am I tipping for? Yes, they brought the food to our table, but again, it isn't a sit down, have a menu, order through the server and enjoy the ambiance of the establishment. This is no different than going to Panera where you also order on a tablet and seat yourself. Even in Panera they bring the meal out to you if you are dining in but they don't expect or even ask for a tip. Overall, the ramen is good, but not worth the price. Far too expensive.

There were some parking spots in the front. Came on a weekend night. Place was pretty empty except for a few tables. Staff immediately came to help us order on the machine as we walked in. Got Bold Ramen for $19.99 and extra soup for $6.99. After ordering, we got to sit at any open tables. The Tonkotsu or pork was really delicious and tender, came with three pieces of pork. The Tatsu Egg was really delicious. The ramen also came with scallions and fried onions. Upon sitting down, a waitress asked if we wanted sesame and seaweed. The thin noodle was alright. The broth was also just alright. Overall, it was an okay ramen place. When we were about to leave, we found a roach had climbed through our vent and into our car.

Food: I ordered Bold Ramen-the noodles were very thin and a bit under cooked for my liking, if I went back I'd try a different noodle if available (I don't remember if one was) the broth was lackluster in flavor and the toppings minimal (despite me checking the "hulk" option for green onion. The egg was delicious and I'm glad I ordered an extra as it yolk really added to the broths. Also ordered the cucumber salad, it was fresh and delicious. The major downside is the ordering kiosks-it feels rushed and it also prompts a tipping option before being served which I believe is not beneficial for the staff, because I tipped standard the n had an above average server. She was a delight-Hardworking-Attentive and Kind, but I don't carry cash and had I been promoted to tip at the end of service I would have been able to tip her more for her fantastic service.

Very good, excellent flavors, service is efficient.. ambiance is calming. I hear a lot of 80s music which is great. Also love the mural on the wall, that's very cool.

Love the decor, vibes, and delicious healthy ramen here. The waiter my friend and I had was super nice and accommodating to my dietary needs. They open until super late which is really fantastic for an late night hang out or snack. Tatsu ramen specializes in health ramen, with vegan options that are delicious.

Authentic ramen with bold out of this world flavor. Was recently craving a hot bowl of ramen on a chilly Los Angeles night and decided to stop here. It was my first time visiting but after the ramen I had, it won't be my last. I was surprised to find that even at nearly midnight on a Sunday the place was super busy. The late night line let me know that the meal was about to be fire! My partner and I walked in, ordered at the self service quiosk and found seating at the bar area. I enjoyed watching the staff hustle as they turned out bowls of delicious ramen at lighting speed. They worked together and were in sync with each other. I could see all of the fresh ingredients, love and labor that they were putting into the food. The amazing smells from the kitchen were wonderful and I couldn't wait to eat. The restaurant was super clean, bright and had an open concept which added to the ambiance. When our order was brought out that bowl didn't stand a chance. Served piping hot with lots of veggies, garlic, a bold and flavorful broth and a seasoned egg was cooked to perfection. There was a very small issue with our order and a staff member (Ivan) came over and proactively made it right without us having to request it. Customer service was friendly and professional which is rare these days. 10/10, no complaints whatsoever, I will definitely be a repeat customer from here on out.

Convenient, fast, friendly service with a side of warm, delicious brothy ramen. Arrived and was immediately introduced to the quick procedure of order, eat, leave. For places with screen orders, a warm greeting and friendly service is uncommon, but at this place it felt natural and homely. I got the Red Ramen+Egg, a rich, creamy broth with a kick. This was demolished in 5 minutes without a speck of broth remaining. A solid bowl of ramen, though a little pricey (26? including the egg) especially for what you get. Delicious nonetheless. Overall a solid spot. If you're looking for a quick sit down meal in the area this would be a great pick. Also, cool murals outside and anime to watch while eating!

This is my quick go to/last minute ramen spot. If I had to rate the ramen here I'd give it a 7.5/10...it's good but not amazing by any means. I enjoy eating here most of the time because of their large selection of options, vegan ones being available. Plus they're quick and close by. The only reason I give them a four star review is because the ramen isn't that great of quality. As I've been eating more and more ramen over the years I've noticed it more and a few friends of mine mentioned it as well. The venue has plenty of seating which is nice for their busy moments, tables are constantly turning over so you'll be able to sit and enjoy anytime.

Had a quick little adventure in the Little Tokyo area--honestly a foodie's paradise. With so many restaurants and street food vendors, it was almost impossible to decide where to go. Luckily, this spot came highly recommended by a local foodie, so I took their advice--and I'm really glad I did. Tucked away from the main tourist buzz, it felt like a hidden gem. I ordered their signature Bold Ramen: a deep, rich broth layered with 11 different flavors, paired with perfectly thin noodles. And the seasoned soy egg was absolute perfection.

    Red Ramen
    Nina F.

I got the red ramen with a side of mushroom and extra bamboos. I like that their sides are actually a lot more to add and they're reasonably priced. That's a huge plus and you can share it between multiple people. I enjoyed their spice level and it was clean inside. You order first and then you can sit anywhere you are. Parking is available in a lot right next door which is nice given it's in the arts district. Would come here again! The broth is rich and would be open to trying their other dishes.

We ordered a chicken karaage to start and it wasn't bad, nothing to write home about though. Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.
