Newly opened to izakaya style in K-Town and it did not disappoint !! Fresh ingredients, beautifully done menu, and the vibe? Immaculate. Perfect spot for a GNO or date night!

This is my second time eating at Akatora Ramen. My first time eating here was during a private event that was hosted by one of my favorite content creators on social media. (Thanks to him for introducing me and many followers to this lovely ramen spot.) I am fond of the modern ambiance with semi-dark wooden chairs and tables that complement the semi-dim lighting. This time, I ordered a Classic Shio Ramen which was my first time trying it. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes and it came out very warm and fresh. The ramen noodles were fresh and the chicken and pork slices were soft, tender and not overcooked. Although I am not used to some seafood flavor on my ramen, I still noticed the garlicky umami taste. Next time, I would love to try their tonkatsu ramen and other items. While I arrived early for dinner, it wasn't as busy as I expected on a Friday night. I am confident that Akatora Ramen has so much potential to become a trendy place for fresh and tasty ramen in KTown. I would love to visit again whether I'm solo or with a group of family and/or friends.

Good lunch deal! Parking is validated by the restaurant. Very cozy japanese vibe and friendly staff!

Food 5/5: rich yet balanced ramen, who wouldn't like it? Very natural taste with enough seasonings. Meats melt in your mouth and love the citrusy in chicken. Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5: very clean. You can park in the lot and valet is only $5 for 3 hours on Saturdays. Highly recommend!

Cute place on the corner. Ordered the Tokyo Classic. Broth was clear, light, and flavorful. The egg was soft and yolk was jammy. The noodles had a nice bite and texture. I was a little surprised by how thin the noodles were but it complemented the broth and tender meat well. The cucumber salad was a refreshing bite. Washed everything down with a sparkling sake. Service was excellent. Fun fact-We found out that Akatora is "red tiger". Owner's husband was born in year of the tiger. Enjoyable experience.

My friend and I tried Akarora Ramen on a Saturday afternoon around 12pm. It relatively empty, but we decided to give it a shot considering it recently opened. We didn't order much, but here's a run down of our experience: Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen: My friend and I both ordered this. The spice had some kick, but not much! If you're sensitive to spice, I'd order the regular version of the dish. The broth itself was pretty flavorful though. The noodles were thinner than my usual liking, but the portion size was pretty generous. Overall, a very good dish. We'd recommend trying. Karaage Rice Bowl- Very decent size and shareable between two people! After we finished our ramen, we split the rice bowl. The chicken itself was very well seasoned. I especially enjoyed the sauce that coated it. It was very zesty. If you're a lover of lemon/ lime, you'll enjoy it. Overall, it was a great experience. The restaurant itself was very clean, and the aesthetic was very chic. Ultimately, I would come here again to settle my next ramen craving.

I was so excited for this place to open! They re-designed the dining room and made it look very warm and inviting. There is an elevated vibe but there is also a big tv playing sports so it feels casual. The prices are really affordable, especially compared to other options in the area especially especially because of the great quality yummy food. My favorite was for sure the chicken karaage or fried chicken bowl it came with a nice little salad and rice and the texture of the chicken was somehow crispy and juicy! Service was quick and friendly! This spot feels like a secret because it doesn't look like it's very busy but don't let that fool you. Can't wait to come back to try more things on the menu.

Tried this place because of their good reviews and it didn't disappoint. We ordered several items in the menu and they were light and delicious!

A properly cooked soft boiled ramen egg is a must. Also the fact it keeps its consistency halfway through eating is a ramen staple!

I happened to pass by this new spot during its soft open at lunchtime so I walked in to check it out. Menu has a great variety of items from starters to a good number of ramen selections and bowls. Ramen spots in LA are plentiful but many just get it wrong with the flavor profiles, size, types of ingredients and also level of salt to cover up other things but I have to say Akatora gets it right. It brought me back to having a proper bowl of ramen in Tokyo. And how you can tell this is the real thing is in the details. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and on the face of the presentation, it looks standard but as you start to dig into the bowl, you appreciate all the different dimensions of flavor plus you can tell the chef knows what they're doing in preparing the ramen. First, the broth. Rich and smooth, full of flavor and not overly salty... this definitely has been brewed to the point of bringing out the depth of flavor needed to support each of the ingredients, each of which are balanced and intentional. Some woods ear mushrooms and green onion with just a touch of ginger are on top of perfectly cooked ramen noodles. The noodles retain just the right amount of chewiness as is appropriate for Japanese ramen. Of course, a proper soft boiled ramen egg with the right amount of flavor and runniness is also key. This definitely passed the test! But let's take a minute to talk about the pork. Wow. At first I was surprised at how thin it was (but this is also common of what I've seen in Japan), but when you start to eat it you get the sense of rich flavor, cooked to perfection (think like you're having the best pork chashu pastrami) with the right amount of grill. It takes special skill to make pork like that and I could have eaten a whole bowl of it. All in all a great meal - right sized, not too large and also leaves you feeling full and satisfied. Ambiance is pretty casual but also appreciate the natural wood across the decor, really calming when you come inside. There is a parking lot under the mini mall where they are located (which is right on the corner).

Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars I had the lunch special curry with pork katsu which I enjoyed. Others ordered lunch special Ramen, and it was either a hit or miss since not all enjoyed their broth. Would I come back? hmmmm... not sure.

The food is palatable, the ramen is rich and savory, and the customer service is top-notch.

They were running a limited menu for NYE, which I wish had been the full lineup, but honestly everything we ordered still hit. The small bites were solid, and the ramen was comforting and flavorful, definitely enough to make me curious about what the full menu looks like. Currently working on convincing my wife we need a return trip. What really makes TABERU stand out is the concept behind it. It's backed by top restaurateurs from Tokyo who collectively own over 200 restaurants, all coming together to bring street-level Tokyo flavors to LA. The name "TABERU" ties into Sandaiyokkyu, the three major human desires, with the focus on shokuyoku, the desire to eat. That philosophy actually shows in the food: simple, intentional, and satisfying. Their chefs from Tokyo created a menu you don't really see elsewhere in LA. Signature dishes like the Yasai Makis (fresh veggies wrapped in pork) sound incredible, and it's great to see vegetarian and vegan options as well. Short version: great atmosphere, solid food even on a limited menu, and a concept that feels thoughtful rather than gimmicky. Definitely coming back to experience it properly.

Although their menu is regularly updated and posted on their website, they'll also have a piece of paper on the table listing on the special of the day. On our visit, the special was fried yellow tail, but we ultimately passed since our order was already loaded. After you place your order, the dishes are coursed out so not everything hits the table at the same time. Pacing was perfect and service was polite and attentive. Of the items we ordered the crowd favorite was the fries from the steak fries dipped into the sauce of the budo-gnocchi dish. The fries were effectively a perfected version of the McDonald's fry: golden and crispy, crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The wagyu was sliced into beautiful bite-size pieces and was melt-in-you-mouth tender. Definitely a must order! Another favorite of mine was the Japanese sweet potato. The surface of the potato is beautifully brûléed, there's an intense richness from the glob of miso koji butter on top, and the chives add a nice freshness to the dish. I cannot recommend Budonoki enough if you're a foodie. Seriously some of the best food I've had in LA.

We crossed a few intersections to get there, and it was well worth the walk. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming host. The ambiance is light and airy, featuring high ceilings, light-colored walls, and light wood furnishings. The overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and very inviting.
