Despite already being in full shutdown mode, Libar and her team welcomed me warmly, restarted everything for a sandwich and cappuccino, and treated me with genuine kindness after a very stressful visit next door at the emergency vet. Even more remarkable, when I tried to leave a tip for going so far above and beyond, Libar graciously refused with, "I love my job." That kind of compassion can't be trained--it's who she is. Libar (and clearly her team) turned a rough night around, and Paris Baguette is lucky to have her.

As a result of that review, I spoke with Christina, who manages the shop. She was genuinely sincere, apologized for the issues, and assured me that things were going to change. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. On Friday, July 10, at approximately 9:30 a.m., I visited the shop again. I was the fifth person in line, looking at my phone, when I heard the first customer being told they had no coffee. He immediately walked out. The next two customers ordered iced tea. The fourth customer, who was directly in front of me, ordered two cups of coffee. I clearly heard the employee tell him there was no coffee available and that he would have to wait 5 to 10 minutes. Although he was obviously frustrated, he agreed to wait and took a seat. When it was my turn, I asked the cashier if I had heard correctly that there was currently no coffee. She confirmed they were about to brew a fresh pot. I pointed out that five customers had already been in line and that this was a coffee shop with no coffee available. After already turning away one customer and asking another to wait, only then were they starting a new pot? The cashier responded with an attitude, saying, "You'll just have to wait 5 to 10 minutes." This is exactly what I discussed with Christina months ago. I simply do not understand how a coffee shop can repeatedly run out of coffee. At a minimum, there should always be another pot brewing or ready so customers are not left waiting 5 to 10 minutes after placing an order. That is poor planning and poor customer service. It is clear that nothing has changed since my conversation with Christina. I asked if either Christina or Dan, the other manager, was available, and I was told there were no managers on duty. At that point, I walked out. I cannot recommend spending your time or money at a coffee shop that repeatedly fails to have coffee available. It would be like going to a grocery store with no groceries. If a business specializes in coffee, customers should reasonably expect coffee to be available.

It's definitely not a "fast dash" type of place - there's typically a small line and you'll wait and sip your coffee/beer while they make your order fresh - so don't expect Wendy's speed but it's also incredibly delicious in a way no fast food place could dream of.
