I am also leaving this review so that others do not have my experience and are not mislead. I was looking around at different options for my daughter's joint 8th and 9th birthday party. Last year we had their party at mocatinas and it was so impressive. I was trying to find something that would be equally as good. I found the Conche chocolate and cake studio and was interested in their party package. I contacted them and even on their Yelp page they advertise pictures of the parties in a private studio. We thought that was really awesome and wanted to do their cake pop making party. At no point during my discussion with their employee did they disclose that this party would not be at their private studio. There were so many chances they had to let me know during our conversations. I finally was given a contract by them and quoted over $800 for the party. We were happy to pay that but during that conversation I realized that it was casually mentioned it would be held in a restaurant. I paused right there and carefully re read everything. I made sure to ask questions and confirmed that not only would the party not be held in their private studio that the owner advertised on this very Yelp page, it would be held at a completely different restaurant. Not even the conche restaurant and no private at all. I think it's incredibly sneaky to charge someone $800 and not give a full disclaimer that this would not be held at the advertised location. Also in my personal opinion it's greedy. I told their employee I cannot justify paying that amount for a children's birthday party held in the corner of a restaurant open to the public. When initially it was advertised as private and even showed pictures. I called them out and said you do know that you have a private studio advertised right? They tried to come up with an alternative solution to put the kids in a "cramped room". While still charging $800 lol. No thank you. We have booked somewhere else. This sort of situation turns me off from even eating at their other restaurant. It's a complete lack of general care. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else and I really hope people read this review so they are aware that children's birthday parties are held at a random corner of a rest and not the advertised private space on this page.

Most of the cupcakes had clever mini dessert decorations on top whether it be a tiny slice of pie, brownie or marshmallow which added to the fun. They also have special decorations for the holidays. The space itself is very bright and cheery and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. There are tables outside on the mini green and plenty of nearby parking. It's not easy to find. Their address is on Southbank Street, but it can be easy to miss it as it is behind Robek's. We were here on a Sunday around 5 p.m. The first thing I noticed was that they didn't have very many items left. The young man who was behind the counter was friendly and patient. I decided to order two lemon cupcakes and two birthday cupcakes. There were only two birthday cupcakes left, so I guess I timed it right. Four cupcakes ended up costing $18, which seems to be on the expensive side. As for the cupcakes, the lemon ones were for my husband. He thought the lemon flavoring could have been more prominent. We also noticed that the cupcakes were on the oily side. On the plus side, the cake part was very light in texture. This place is basically a take out set up, as it is small. We're not sure if we would return. If we did return, it would be for a meal in the area.

Both of these problems are persistent and consistent. Even though it's a nice place and very convenient, I've recently been trying to go other places which are further away just to avoid this. The last thing I want do in the morning when I'm getting coffee, is get frustrated and fight with the staff.

That night they had their mini pound cakes in Bourbon Pecan, Red Velvet Swirl, Chocolate Chip, and Lemon. I sampled two (not to be greedy) as I was looking for stocking stuffer type unique gifts to take back with me to Vermont. The verdict? An excellent variety of cakes that are moist and flavorful. I tried both the Lemon (whose flavor was reminiscent of a lemon chiffon pie with a lighter texture and less sweet than a lemon bar-it was, in other words, lemony perfection. I tried the red velvet swirl as well and it was very good. I bought a few as treats for friends. They freeze well, too. They even make gluten free varieties. Sweet (pun intended)!
