The restaurant is in an inn and just being in the building is a pleasure. We went in the front door and asked where the restaurant was and had the pleasure of being lead to the back of the building through colorful rooms with vintage inspired wall paper. The green cameos on the front halls wallpaper were fuzzy!! The bathrooms were also a freaking delight. Great wall paper everywhere. The dining room was very beautiful with high back chairs and a fire place. They also offered dining on the porch which was really beautiful too - the inn is not secluded by any means, but there wasn't an overbearing amount of traffic, so the porch would probably be lovely. We ate inside though. My husband tried to go light and healthy with claim chowder and the seasonal vegetable. He also got an espresso. I just went ahead and got the burger with the salad. The burger came with homemade pickles which were pretty tasty. The salad had green tomatoes which were very interesting. All around I had a great meal. They also have an excellent selection of cocktails. I had a hard time choosing. but I ended up with the Rose Gold which featured some awesome rose gin. I love anything that tastes floral and this made me super happy. Also, plus points for the paper straw! Our waitress was also excellent and had a really warm persona. AND they were playing all my late 60's early 70's jams. I had a super pleasant time even if we didn't get the breakfast we were hoping for. The restaurant is walking distance from the historical sites downtown and great for a special experience or treat. Would love to see the rest of the inn some day.

When we walked into the hotel, there was no one at the check stand, and we eventually made our way through the bar to the restaurant's host stand. When you step into the main dining room, everything is awash with muted blues and grays--my scarf matched the color scheme pretty well, ha! We both ordered the kobacha (squash) soup, which was really quite delicious. It would've benefited from some sort of dippable bread or carb item, but it was very flavorful. The curry was definitely present without being overpronounced. I had the braised lamb neck, which came with glazed carrots and couscous. I order lamb all the time but had never ordered lamb neck specifically--I was pleased to find that it was tender and they gave a very generous portion! It tasted rather like a home-cooked meal. The harissa couscous was a nice complement. This dish just worked really well. For dessert, we shared the lemon posset, which is sort of like pot de creme. The lavender shortbread was really nice; I actually could've just had more of the shortbread by itself. The negative comes on the service front. We waited 35 minutes after being seated for our server to take our meal order and bring bread (their house bread is Parker House rolls, which were pretty standard Parker House rolls). After a while, we genuinely thought we had been forgotten about because it took over half an hour for our cocktails to arrive, and the restaurant was not full. However, I did enjoy The Ellen, a blackberry liquor-based cocktail, although the apple cidery "The Temptation" drink was too sweet for me. It was sort of strange because our server came to drop the menus and take our drink order and we didn't see her over a half hour. This was really the only negative of the meal, although since it was inching toward the hour mark before we received our appetizers, it was a pretty big ding. Unfamiliar with the menu, the window advertising "home of the fancy" swayed my choice a little and I felt that naturally I had to try it. Plus the bacon and mayo combo hooked me. No disappointments here, it was delicious! All of the ingredients were fresh and paired well together. I think the appearance threw me off a little, maybe from how the bread looks, but it tasted really good. My drink was just an iced coffee with carmel but next time I want to try the bottled maple cream cold brew because that was calling my name. Overall solid local spot that I would come back too. Their menu is quite original but still simple enough so you can find something for breakfast or lunch. And oh man, reading the description for their grilled Nutella fluff sandwich made my mouth water. Definitely need to come back for that. They are only open for breakfast and lunch so keep the hours in mind.

Lunch time! Yes!…read more Wanted a yummy lunch so decided to come to Revival because we know they have several lunch items on their menu and also coffee! The place has plenty of seating and it's always welcoming with it's relaxing background music. My boyfriend and I wanted coffee for sure but then couldn't decide on what food items to order. We finally decided to share a grilled cheese sandwich and a tomato soup because it was a cold day and we were a little chilly from walking outside. The tomato soup hit the spot! It was rich in flavor and it was served with a nice big slice of bread. The grilled cheese was very gooey and delicious! It was packed with tons of cheese and it was literally oozing out with cheese because it had so much. We enjoyed dipping our breads into the soup and soaking up the yummy soup. Each bite was perfection! We ordered at the counter and the nice waitress brought over our food to our table. The coffee was also very good and it paired very well with our yummy lunch. We had a perfect winter lunch date!

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

Now it's quite underwhelming. The apricot croissant is now some smaller glorified danish that has no richness or personality. The plain croissant is quite "bready" now, whereas it used to be light and buttery. I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a different croissant supplier now. What saved this spot from a lower grade is that the pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes are passable. Also a save is that they still offer various French products, from soaps to cheeses to canned goods. I have to find a new French bakery in the area.

Some are drive-thru only (like the one near my house). I'm gonna talk about the former real quick. Naturally, the menu is basically the same. On this day, I was having lunch. Ergo, I opted to try the Chipotle Short Rib & Egg burrito (as a bowl because I'm a man of culture) accompanied with a cup of chowdah. I must say...I expected there to be a bit more flavor, what - with the Chipotle sauce n' all. Alas, I had to add my own salt. This is mostly a nitpick, but really...can we please season our beef? Just a lil bit even? So, the biggest difference you'll notice at this location is the parking situation. It's....annoying. Because on the one hand, you technically have ample amounts of spaces to park in. Or...you WOULD, if not for the signs en masse that read "[insert corporate company name here] parking only - all violators will be towed at owner's expense." I find this hilarious because I feel like that would be impossible to enforce for folks parking less than 10 minutes to pick up an order like I did. So, I guess my pro tip of the day would be: feel free to park wherever at your own risk if and ONLY if you're getting take-away. If you're actually dining in, I suppose you'll have to wait painstakingly for one of the few parking spots actually designated for Pressed specifically to open. By the way, if you're picking up a take-away order, the take-out shelf is smack dab next to their side entrance opposite the side where you would normally order your food. It's one of those "blink once and you'll miss it" type things the first time visiting. From my vantage point, this place stays quite busy. Not surprising, considering the Burlington area in general. Clearly, a lot of folks come here mid-work day which is also the only reason I came here to begin with. Overall, not a bad lunch stop, though the parking can be slightly obnoxious. The perfectly preserved railcar diner (even down to the original refrigerator and clock on the wall) is only one of a few dozen still operating as a diner out of the hundreds that built by the Worcester Lunch Car Co. in the 1940s and 1950s. Maria Kitidis Mackay and her father George bought the diner in January 2020 and one or both of them are usually working the griddle daily.. as they were when I recently visited. I recently stopped in for breakfast two days in a row while visiting friends in Concord and the food was excellent both times. On my first visit, I had the two-egg platter ($8) with a unique Greek loukaniko sausage (+$7). The next day, I had the same platter with traditional pork sausage links (+$3). Both platters came with home fries and toast, and everything was incredibly fresh, hot, and really tasty. My dining companion also thoroughly enjoyed her meals and the classic diner ambiance. She tried the Florentine benedict ($14), which came topped with perfectly sautéed spinach and tomato, and on the next visit went with the spinach and feta omelet ($13). Our servers stopped by a few times to ensure everything was good. The only minor disappointment we experienced was that our servers didn't offer to refill our coffee, but otherwise, it was a fantastic visit. Maybe I should have asked? It is a terrific experience all around. Highly recommend checking this place out if you want great food, unique history, and a classic diner atmosphere! Even taking away a 1/2 star for our coffee snafu, it's still a solid 4.5 stars for the overall experience -- rounded up to 5 stars. PRO TIP: Bring cash. Wilson's does not accept credit cards.
