Went here for a Saturday morning brunch and the place was quite busy. We were a group of six, but managed to find seating luckily and got straight to ordering. Started off some coffees and our order included Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Lamb Kebab Plate. My review is for the Cheese Sandwich which was just ok. Even after having three different cheeses and roasted garlic, the sandwich lacked flavor and the only flavor I could taste was the rather delicious Sourdough Bread. It's the official great decline of Tatte...hate to see it coming. I was so excited to see Tatte come into Lexington a few years back, but it is no longer killing it. I came on a weekday, and clearly the other coffee shops in the area were more busy. We ordered online, and when we arrived 15 min later, there was nothing on the pickup window. Waited and asked...40 min after, we got our coffees. Cold coffees. I then realized they never gave me the pastry. So had to go back for that. Came here for brunch and everything was great. This Tatte is consistent with other Tatte's I've visited. Pastries and coffee are always a great option. We tried the lamb kebab plate, shakshuka and breakfast plate which were all good. Good spot for a casual breakfast/brunch without having to make reservations. Ok this one is simple. Take a great pastry, hot tasty coffee and wonderful service and roll them up in a happening location just off the famous Lexington Green, and you have Tatte. We ate inside because all the outside tables were taken, it was a bit noisy but that was only because it was constantly busy (good noise). read more

I usually love Tatte, but the one in Lexington really needs to get its act together. I came in on a quiet evening hoping to get a quick soup and a sandwich to go to my dinner meeting. There were literally 3 people sitting with laptops at tables, and one other customer waiting for food pick up. After waiting for my order for half an hour, I had to chase down a staff member to inquire how much longer was my order going to take. At first, they couldn't find it in the computer. Then they told me they had to make the soup I ordered because they were apparently out of it and didn't bother to tell me. Ten minutes later, they handed me a bag and I went (late) to my meeting. When I opened my Turkey, Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich, not only was it on the wrong bread, but there was no turkey to be found. Come on guys! You can do better! read more

Normally I frequent the tatted at the Belmont location and for the most part the food is pretty similar and pretty decent. The part that irks me about the Lexington location is they don't toast their bread completely. I don't mean half way on all sides, I mean at least one side of your bread (if you're lucky) will be toasted. This isn't the first this this has happened. Once before only one side of one slice of bread was toasted with my lamb meatball shakshuka and I mentioned this to the server as a heads up. Apparently the notice was not heard. read more

This is an enjoyable cafe with lots of breakfast foods and lunch options. Love the egg sandwich on grilled sourdough which is so tasty. Their sandwiches can be a bit skimpy on the fillings so be pushy and ask for what you pay for. Skip the coffee which is average and go to Pete's down the block. Enjoy! read more

The staff and overall vibe were amazing! We were traveling through and unsure what to get, and the two people at the front were so kind--they walked us through the menu and even shared their go-to items. I had a lovely breakfast sandwich, and so did my husband, but unfortunately, the drinks were not our favorite. I ordered a matcha that was way too watery and flavorless, and my husband got a chai that he described as "a crime to all chai's." The lamb meatball shakshuka $15 is served with challah bread that goes delightfully with tomato bell pepper sauce, eggs and lamb meatballs. Fabulous location for this new Tatte cafe in Lexington! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with counter service. Nice selection of coffee drinks, lattes and phenomenal hot chocolate. Especially good decaf Americano. Breakfast fare with both traditional croissants, fried egg dishes, eggs with bacon, shakshuka, beautiful yogurt parfaits. Lunch and dinner options include some traditional sandwiches like tomato soup, BLT or turkey avocado --but also middle eastern inspired fare like chicken pita, lamb kebab and hummus and warm pita. Hummus was especially silky and flavorful. Desserts looked amazing although I did not get to try them this last visit, the passion fruit krembo looked especially delicious. The Tatte ambience feels like a steady but not crowded European cafe, and tempts you to want to sit for longer with a friend or a book. read more

An employee gave me a hard time for taking a table when I ordered to go but eventually gave in. I ordered the shakshuka and it had decent flavor but was so runny it was essentially a soup. My wife and I got our first takeout lunch at the local Tatte. For my wife's STRAWBERRY, ROASTED PEACH & CHICKEN SALAD, she requested no onion, but was advised that they could not accommodate. Just found out that my favorite cafe opened up a few streets down from my house. Went to stop by on a Monday afternoon ( March 24th when this occurred ) to get myself something to eat after work, the place is super clean and the food was amazing. The only thing that bothered me was the server that attended me. There were two other people in front of me, and she was super polite with them said hello and thank you etc. once I went up to order, I was being polite saying hello and how she was and she just gave me a blank stare and just said what can I get you? Which was very interesting, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and continued to order. As we were finishing up with the transaction, I said thank you and told to her to have a great day, and just being polite in general. She just looked at me, with no smile and said nothing. I brushed it off and went to go eat. I went up the second time to get something to go, the same thing happened. I told her have a good one and said thank you and gave her a friendly smile, and she doesn't say anything and just stared.
