This place has lots of seasonal fun and creative menu items. Good: They play Christmas movies during Christmas time. I really enjoy that. I wish they did that for other holidays. The decorations are very festive. They lean into over the top. This makes it a great place for kids and adults that appreciate quirky things. The staff are very nice and friendly. The way they lean into over the top theming can make this feel more like a quirky restaurant in New York then something on moody st. Popped in on a Wednesday evening around 7:15 ish and only one other table so I got to choose where I sat. Sofia was wonderful as I ordered the mushroom burger but with the smash patties 2 4 oz patties vs regular one 8 oz. Came with fries. Wednesday is Wicked Wing Wednesday where if you order a burger or a beer you get 6 piece wings complimentary! What a deal. The burger wasn't seasoned as well as I would have thought and was quite bland, had to add ketchup to help it out. The fries seemed like maybe the oil isn't hot enough as they were clumped together and were very soft in the middle (length wise, not the center of the fry) I only ate the smaller extra crispy ones. Great place to sit outside on a summer day and enjoy breakfast or lunch. Maya was a sweet and attentive waitress. We all enjoyed our food. I had a bacon chicken wrap which was stuffed with freshly prepared crispy chicken, bacon and lettuce. I have confidence the lettuce is not part of the latest parasite ! When you're in the mood for brunch in Waltham, everyone definitely thinks of In A Pickle. I must say, their staff are undoubtedly some of the nicest staff around! They're always so sociable & kind. From the outside, it seems like a very cool concept. Kind of a fun brunch place that might have alot of pickle themed items. It's not really even that. Unfortunately not even the pickle I received with my wrap was good. One bite of the mooshy pickle was enough to put it down for good. Let's start with the pros... service! The waitstaff is awesome. Hands down some of the best service ever. It was 3 women working and they were all on point. 5 stars for service. Beyond that, it reminded of when Friendlys (the chain restaurant) was heading in the wrong direction. The food seems very generic like it was ordered from the supplier and just prepared as is without any flare or personal touch. From the outside it seems like it might be some trendy brunch spot with creative menu items and lots of pickle influences. Don't get me wrong, the prices are very good. That's a huge plus. Ordered the southwest chicken wrap because it had a green square which seemed to be the indication for the recommended favorites. Fries were not fresh and i left the plate of them. The wrap itself was one I might get from a cafeteria style place. The coleslaw was superb though. 5 stars for the slaw. They serve the breakfast menu even at night which is a big plus. And as I said, the prices are very good. I fully expected to see something like spicy fried pickle chips on the menu, but no dice. The dinner menu is mainly sandwich based with some burgers and salad options. I wanted to give the 5 stars because the staff was so awesome. The food just isn't something I would return for at night when I want dinner. Breakfast seems to be highlight here. In a pickle restaurant is a fine establishment. I have been there a few times now. Now I can say with reasonable confidence that you should go there too. In this post I will focus on their breakfast specials where the price for two special breakfasts is ~$11! This is a steal in this economy! You will have to get there before 9 am on weekends though. They have the same specials on the weekdays too. The breakfasts we had had rye toast, three eggs done your style, home fries, and a protein of your choice (bacon, sausages, ham). The home fries were well seasoned and had a good amount of crispy bits in them. We had an extra side of pancakes. They were hefty and fluffy and the same time. The service was good and the ambiance was family friendly. All in all, I enjoyed going there and will return. PS: Their chicken and waffles are also great! read more

A great find in Waltham. The menu is so vast the hardest part is choosing what to eat! I was rushing the family to get out of the hotel on a Saturday morning and get here before it got too busy. I checked the waitlist and it said no waiting so we were able to get a table quickly. Jenna did a great job of taking care of us. The coffee is nice and strong. I enjoyed the Moody omelette. It was fresh without being too filling. Great roasted potatoes and I have cinnamon raisin toast for the first time in many years. My wife and daughter split the Ringer. So much food! I was treated like I shouldn't be allowed in public due to an allergy. They demanded that I tell them the symptoms of my reaction to the food I'm allergic to and told me they did not know the ingredients of their sour dough bread. I've never been made to feel so embarrassed of something out of my control. Horrible place. If I were not with colleagues I would have walked out. Also their yelp lists "vegan options" which should automatically cover my allergy. Apparently that is a lie. And I did try to call that morning more than once, after opening time. Also emailed. Extremely sad! I had gone to In A Pickle often. Loved the food. Bragged to my group of friends that I was taking them to somewhere they'd love. One friend has severe nut allergies. The chef basically sent someone out to say that the restaurant does not and will not operate to take precautions and we would be better off to leave. I guess on the 3 possibilities of a friend's death, having us leave or using a clean pan to cook eggs... Certainly a generous portion. I ordered The Ringer and added Oreo Extreme pancakes to go with my eggs and sausage. It was an absurd amount of food. I literally ate less than a third of it and was stuffed. The sausage, eggs, and hash browns were solid, but the pancakes were beyond belief. Absolutely overwhelming in size and flavor. What put this restaurant over the top was the quality of service and attention to detail. They made a mistake with our ticket and our meal was delayed. The manager came over unprompted and comped our entire meal. We tried to decline his generous offer, because the mistake really wasn't that bad, but he insisted. Good breakfast spot with a large menu. The specialty pancakes and French toast appear to be what they are most known for. I got the ringer with caramel crunch French toast. It came with 2 eggs, meat, homefries, and a full order of French toast. It costed extra to upgrade to a specialty so it ended up being over $25 which I thought was expensive but it was a lot of food and everything tasted good so it was worth it. I was especially impressed by how fast the kitchen was. The restaurant was filled with a 30 min wait and the food came out in probably under 5 minutes. Foods pretty good, wait times Can range from 30 minutes to an hour, and staff was friendly! Parking is pretty tough, everything is street parking so be prepared to parallel park! I've tried 3 times to eat here with wait times extending 30+ minutes; it was definitely worth the wait for the quality of food, you may not have time to actually wait tho. I'd go on a day when you have no deadlines and errands to truly enjoy the experience. The Food is really good! I've only tried food from the breakfast menu because the lunch menus (burgers, fries, etc.) if you go to their website the have a menu you can see, it's extremely blurry so you'll have to download the PDF which is easier; I recommend looking at the menu before you arrive. I ordered the Steak & Egg breakfast platter, homemade fries, and toast. Along with their pumpkin spice waffles. Truly a home run with the steak and eggs. A big miss with the pumpkin spice; it's gorgeous to look at but it's really spongy, and mine was burnt pretty bad. As far as the restaurant it's crowded and cramped unless you're in a booth. As I've shared before the restaurant has long wait times so you'd be waiting for an incredibly long time if you wait in doors. They have a great informing system where it will let you know how long your wait is and how many parties are ahead of you. The challenge is that since there a bunch of people waiting you can feel the impatience of people around you. People were pretty rude when walking through the crowds of people. I wish I had a recommendation to the restaurant, but you can tell the staff is trying their best to navigate. I think your restaurant may need to expand their space or create a better space for people to wait. read more

I have eaten at In A Pickle for years. I love it, well loved it. A few months ago I went in for dinner and decided to get a pancakes with my eggs, since my boyfriend loves them. It tasted undercooked to me. I asked my wait person to have the cook throw it back on the griddle for me. To which she said I'll be right back. She back came with the "night manager", who points at my plate and says (not speaking to me... the customer) to the wait person "is this it?". She then turns my plate, and asks me to cut into the middle. (which I did) She then squats down to the table at eye level, slowly turning the plate around again looking intently, asked me to cut it more and finishes with me by saying "that is the way we cook our pancakes" and walked away!!! ZERO customer service! For 37 cents worth of pancake batter she alienated a great customer forever. Their loss! read more

The food was amazing. My first time here was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, the menu has a lot of choices. Parking can be a bother, but it's worth it. I got the Wasabi Grilled Cheese. If you like spicy it's a great choice. French fries were perfect. My son got the Fruity Pebbles Chicken and Waffle. It was amazing, with a lot of flavors!!
