I'm not sure when I was 18 what made me choose to college avenue inkers I'm going there one time and got a semi okay tattoo I'm a guy who didn't work for them for very long. At the time the shop was on by hammer and Johnny. The very next time I came in to get a larger tattoo the tattoo was done by Johnny himself. And bingo there it was my life long tattoo artist. I don't feel like Johnny and I have gotten that old even though I haven't seen him in too many years. When I was 18 a hammer and Johnny were both very quiet guys but very cool to me and Johnny only took good care of me when I worked for him and as a customer as well. Booked tandem appts with my bestie for a basic tattoo of a phrase on my forearm - simple fine line…read morefont - nothing too fancy - but i saw examples of Clister's work and it was so beautiful i had full confidence in his ability to tattoo some letters on us. Booking was simple because he is listed on the booksy app - saw the name of his shop and we loved it so we impulsively booked him last minute for two 45-minute appts about a little over 24 hours in advance... the app enables u to book, pay a deposit and a tip in advance if u so choose. His shop/work space is shared with a barber shop- overall a great atmosphere - good vibes and clean enough. Clister is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable so he gave us some guidance to help ensure that we would be happy with our tattoos from the day we got them til they have aged for many years- which we appreciated very much. He was not heavy handed, he was very focused while he did precise work- and my friend was actually kinda fidgety moving his feet and talking with his other hand while Clister quietly worked through it w/ zero frustration (impressive). What surprised me most what that my *extremely* picky friend is delighted with his tattoo and said it was exactly what he wanted/pictured. I was shocked cause even though Clister's execution was basically perfect - my friend is *difficult* to please and even more difficult to impress. Parking was easy, they played music i loved and it was overall a fantastic experience. I will 100% be returning to Clister for all my tattooing needs.
