This piece deserves its own review. Came back for my second leg piece and booked it once again with Carlos. Had a consultation with Carlos a week before about my second piece and I showed him my pinterest inspo piece and he totally gave me his insight and after the first piece, I know better to take his advice and he booked me for the following week (Today 9/20) because he wanted to customize the inspo piece I showed him which I thought was very awesome of him. Tattoo day comes around and when I arrived at the shop, he showed me the piece he worked on and I completely FELL IN LOVE with the piece. I do have to admit though getting this piece tatted on to my lower leg was a bit painful BUT even through all that, Carlos made this session a breeze and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The owner of the shop Rovie and Hazel were there aswell and it was all great evening from there, they were so friendly, nice, and supportive of each other's work. Carlos totally did great with this piece and really hooked it up. He's totally doing my whole leg sleeve Lastly, I get that people might have different experiences here and I can't totally speak for that BUT in my opinion with the Quality of Work that each artist do here, I don't see how they're getting a One to Two Star reviews, that's quite harsh. I have nothing but a great experience here (by looking at the pictures attached) and definitely will be booking for my next piece

The conch (piercing in the middle of the ear)

Just visited this shop yesterday, Gerald did my double helix piercings and my conch piercing. Piercing prices are affordable. He really cares about his craft and clients and you can tell he's passionate about what he does. Making sure each piercing was precise. I wanted a naval piercing but he viewed my anatomy and suggested I don't get it being stern and suggesting the best for me. You can tell he's not in it just for the money and just for the love of the job. Loved the playlist he played too, vibes were there. 100% recommend to anyone. Definitely coming back for a nose piercing eventually. Thank you!!!

Was recommended by my hairstylist to come here and am so grateful to her cuz now I've found my favorite tattoo artist ! Carlos did amazing on my tattoos especially being on my fingers he talked me through it which helped but in all honesty the pain was not that bad I think it's because how gentle he was too. I can't wait to continue to work with him!

Would you believe that I got this beautiful work done as a walk in?! This was my first tattoo and everything went smooth as butter! they have some of the most talented artists in SD working here! Happened to run into Gerard while out and was offered his piercing services, so I had to check it out! Very chill and kind environment, and had a variety of jewelry at affordable prices that made the experience more than worth it! I was able to leave with my desired piercings and swapped out a piercing for a floating navel (something I also have been wanting)! I was looking for piercers/body artists in the La Mesa area so it kind of felt like a blessing to meet him when I did, haha. Wonderful meeting you and thank you again!! read more

Gerard was 10/10! I got my nose pierced by him, and the whole experience was so smooth from start to finish. If you want high quality piercings from someone that is knowledgeable and pays attention to detail this is the spot to go to. I came in to get my earlobe re-pierced since the previous person that did it pierced my right earlobe all crooked. They did it with a piercing gun which is already a red flag for me. It was more embarrassing for me because I got fat earlobes also known as Buddha ears so it didn't sit right with me. Anyways I called up this spot and they directed me to their master piercer "G". This dude is super knowledgeable and actually took the time to measure my ears to make sure they were gonna be pierced correctly and within alignment. Then he explained the process and even recommended a longer earring due to my earlobes being fat, to give it room to swell without being smothered. Then he used a real piercing needle and pierced my ear effortlessly. After that he gave me detailed instructions on care and to even come back within a couple weeks to do a checkup to see if everything is aligned correctly. This is the guy to go to if you ever want to get any piercing. I highly recommend him and will be definitely going back and telling all my friends about the go to spot to get piercings. 10/10!! read more

Check out Gerard for all your piercing needs! He pierced my Daith and Snug and has treated them like his own children for nearly a year. He will always give you the best advice with healing and aftercare and always providing free advice. Even outside of his work hours I'm comfortable sending a photo to ask for advice if im worried about a piercing and he always responds or tells me to come in. Always has a positive attitude and you can tell he actually cares about his craft and not trying to steer you in a wrong or expensive way. Always gives good vibes and he makes the whole experience fun and personable. I haven't met anyone else I've trusted more than Gerard to hook me up and actually care how it turns out. Also considers my style and aesthetic and willing to work with me to get the styles I like for jewelry. Smaller shop but the the quality of it piercing and customer service is immaculate. Had a perfect experience at ink mindset! Decided to get my first tattoo in 30 years...did research, read reviews and decided to drop in at ink mindset. Was a bit nervous as I was planning to get a tattoo to mark my recent heart surgery and would be getting it near my surgery site and scar. Got a quick consult and set up an appointment less than two weeks later with hazel. Before the appointment we communicated easily to flesh out the design and prepare for the tattooing. The shop is clean, well decorated with a good vibe. Hazel did an amazing job exceeding all my expectations. The tattoo looks great, she had a great eye and steady hand. I'm already thinking about my next few tattoos and I'm 100% going back to see hazel at mindset. read more

Don't let the outside fool you - this place has incredibly talented artists! I spent months trying to find an artist who is talented in penmanship/fine lines, and stumbled upon Carlos (anxios_tattoos on Instagram). I texted the shop with a photo of what I wanted and they were able to give me an estimate and appointment the next day. Carlos was extremely professional and had a very calm energy, which we appreciated! My husband got the same tattoo. He was very kind and professional and presented me with many options and thoroughly explained the different results each would have and which would suit me best. The pain level was also not what I expected which was my biggest fear, it felt slightly uncomfortable at times but not painful at all. This was my first time getting a tatt and Deft has a way of making you feel so comfortable, I was not nervous at all while getting my 1st tatt, since it was so calming for me decided to get a 2nd tatt same day one after another. Called ahead of time to make sure they were taking walk ins and that they were able to fit me in. She said yes and that they had jewelry available for a nose ring switch out. She took my nose ring out, and then finds out they don't have the right size for me. So she has to put my nose ring back in. It is the more painful then when I got it pierced. It took her about 10 mins and I am bleeding everywhere. This is a 2 year healed nose piercing that I have had no problems with. Do not go here. Horrible!! read more

Cool spot where the owner Mike also features his other business the Good Company Golf Club (will have to check out their sim another time). About 15 minutes later I was led back by my artist Zhu who was patient with the tweaks I wanted to make and communicated clearly the process. After 45 minutes my small piece was done and she also explained the after care instructions thoroughly. Cash only for their tattoo services but they have an atm in the waiting area for convenience.

He was quick to respond and asked for a $200 deposit, which I sent via Apple Pay on March 5 to the shop owner. We booked for March 16. Leading up to the appointment, he would send random updates on the design, but nothing was finalized. I gave feedback and stayed patient, even knowing they had a Friday the 13th event going on. I didn't hit him up again until March 15 (the day before my appointment) because we STILL didn't have a finished design, which is wild. He tells me he'll have it done that day. Cool. Then a few hours later, I get a generic email saying my appointment is canceled. No explanation. Nothing. So I reach out to the number I sent my $200 to asking for a refund, and instead of handling it like professionals, they get confrontational and start acting like I'm the problem for asking for MY money back. They try to hide behind a "no refund" policy... even though THEY canceled on me. Make that make sense. I added my conversation with the artist, since the owner wants to claim harassment. Judge for yourself. No policy was ever clearly shown to me, and communication was trash the entire time. Instead of owning their mistake, they blamed me and got disrespectful. I only got my money back after I told them I'd file a chargeback with my bank and take them to small claims court. Go read their bad reviews--you'll see a pattern, especially with how the owner talks to customers. Super unprofessional. Save your time, save your money, and go somewhere else.

I understand that everybodies anatomy is different and it could cause a slight tilt on the piercing but it's been weeks since I got the piercing and looking at it now with no more swelling or redness it is almost ridiculous how off the piercing is. It's very obvious and disappointing how crooked it is. I even went home to my home piercer and even he left a comment saying that it was done very poorly. Loved the service and friendliness but unfortunately Im going to take out the piecing let it heal and then get it redone somewhere else. I went in for a classic pedicure and asked for her to file my nails and change the color, that's it! The technician was nice so I feel bad leaving this review, but the way she removed the gel from my toes was awful! She filed it down, put acetone and let it sit for a bit. Then she proceeded to peel off the old gel and tore the corner of my nail OFF. She then proceeded to say I had thin nails! I've been getting gel pedicures for a while now and NEVER has anyone tore a piece of my nail OFF! As a technician, even if my nail was thin she could of used a machine to remove the gel instead of tearing it off the way she did. I was so upset! She tried to tell me she would add a piece, which I declined so I just told her to cut what she could without leaving my nail too short. I will never return here. Maybe some folks like this method of removal but I did not and will not be returning for a pedicure. I will add the chairs were comfortable and I also got a gel manicure which he added so many layers too! There was one lady too that came by and was just talking to the technician who did my nails and the vibe just felt uncomfortable! I will never return!

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

Keep in mind that defamation is grounds for a lawsuit, considering you lied on Google. Funny you knew exactly who I was. A fellow customer, who I took documentation of, called me a "b*tch" over 10 times and threatened to break my nose after I told him not to call women "b*tches." Either his tattoo artist who is a Latino man or the Latina woman that worked there put on the movie Haunted House. There's a scene where a woman is being beat and he was screaming at the top of his lungs "punch that b*tch" in the face. Pull that up from your supposed video recording. Your employees along with the barber from next door, who had been there at a prior appointment, sat there as he was verbally threatened me. Then at one point he walked outside to cool off??? Idk. At that point your employees came over and told me it was my fault and I "was to blame" because ONE HOUR prior I made a joke about using numbing cream being "p*ssy sh*t." He didn't say a word about it and kept talking to me... also SERIOUSLY???!! You're that depraved that me saying that makes you want to punch me in the face???? Any GROWN adult would've said that was offensive and I would have easily apologized. Communicating isn't hard. But you all blaming me for a GROWN MAN threatening to break my nose is so vile and disgusting. You also labeled me as a feminist on Google... I never said I was a feminist LOL I just don't think women should be insulted???????????? Or physically threatened???? The only thing the video footage will prove is that my tattoo artist and I were SCARED. They were too scared to finish my tattoo. And they quit working there after this incident. Loveeddd this place! My first tattoo I got was fro Roviee! I got it done while they were in the Desaert Tattoo Expo and i was impressed! Rovie is beyond amazing !! Nice and clean work! Loved the lettering ! The second tattoo I got done was in the shop! Everyone is nice and welcoming since you enter the door! Very nice ,clean and sanitary . I got my tattoo from Josh and it turned out to be waay better than what I had invisioned! He has very mad potential and I just loved how my tattoo came out!! I made an appointment with Anxious, Carlitos. After reading reviews about his precise lines and him being detail oriented with script, I thought he would be perfect for what I wanted. He spent a good amount of time helping me design what I wanted and didn't make me feel bad about my indecisiveness & going back to the "drawing board" a couple times. We called same day to see if they had availability for myself and two friends for a couple of small tattoos and they were able to fit us in! All of the staff was super friendly and helpful with all of the paperwork/any questions we had. Javier is really good at what he does. Used yelp asking for an appointment, replied within minutes and gave me an availablitiy. Clean shop, everyones freindly, and most importantly Javier did a dope piece of work im proud to have on my body.
