Tattoo 5outta5 Benzo blew me away w/his creativity. The details he added brought the two pieces together seamlessly. Service 4.5outta5 It was a four hour session. This was my fourth piece. I've never been offered numbing spray but I asked for and received it. I wish that was standard practice but everyone's different & the pain can be pleasurably intoxicating at times. Chill atmosphere, diverse background music & cool artists. Very clean shop. The staff is an eclectic group. Whatever you're looking for, they can accommodate.

disclaimer, this was some time ago and it feels like a safe enough amount of time has passed…read more i haven't had anything done by the tattoo artists here (or the piercer lol) but this 1 star review is for the piercer. i'm not sure of his name but my friend and i came to electric voodoo for some piercings. he opened the door and was watching a movie on his phone and asked "what do you want?" referring to what piercings we want to get. we told him, and he pointed to the door leading up the darkened stairwell to the second floor. this was in 2021ish and he wasn't wearing a mask and told us to take off our masks to feel "normal" for once, then he started talking so negatively about the covid vaccine. he finally got to sitting my friend down to pierce them and they were getting a lip piercing. he was complaining the whole time about the lip product she was wearing, that it was making the job slippery. he was making it such a huge deal, I could tell my friend was embarrassed. sure my friend could have just not worn lipstick but also he could have asked them to remove it beforehand in a polite way. he put my friend through a lot of pain and discomfort and made them feel bad for it lol. my friend has had piercings before so it's not like they weren't tolerant of that type of pain. during this piercing, he said the n-word (spoiler alert, he is not part of a demographic that can say that word) and when my friend and i looked at each other uncomfortably, he said, "what? this is california. we're all n-words." red flag after red flag, and the use of this slur was what did it for me. after my friend's piercing was finished, it was my turn. i said to him that i had changed my mind about getting my piercing, and he asked why i was chickening out. i just let him know i changed my mind and we left. if i could give the piercer zero stars, i would.

I met joe right as I turned 18. One of my best friends turned 18 as well, and her parents were going to buy her a tattoo for her birthday. She and her mom went around to all the tattoo shops in Vacaville, and joe's shop was the only one they liked. Either the tattoo artists were assholes because she was young, or they didn't like the work. She met Joe and quickly decided to get work done by him. I tagged along and I immediately loved Joe and his work. My sister and I got work done by him a few days later. 6 years later, and I still go to him for all my tattoos. I have 8 tattoos. 7 of which were done by Joe (the 8th was some simple writing I got spur of the moment). My latest piece was a portrait of my mother and he nailed it. Everyone always talks about how great my tattoos are. How much detail and artistry they have. And I always say, go to Joe!!! He is professional, so friendly, beyond talented, and a great family man, friend, and member of our community. You rock Joe!! read more

I just had 2 tattoo's done from Tattoo Joes by Shawn. Shawn is awesome, nice and does great work. I was there a total of 5 1/2 hours getting the tattoos. One of them was a cover up where he redid a tattoo that I had done from Alpha & Omega (Tatto artist Lynn) in Fairfield. The tattoo from Alpha & Omega was a simple plain cross and It was not good. The cross was like they just pieced together three blocks, the cross arms were not even one was higher than the other and longer than the other side. The cross was leaning to one side and was like twisted. It was a horrible job. When Shawn was done fixing it, the only thing I can say is wow! It is awesome. I would definantly recommend Shawn or Joe to anyone. While I was there the 5 1/2 hours my wife was there with me and Joe was so nice to both of us talking and letting her watch him work. I will be going back to Tatto Joes in the future! read more

I can't even begin to express how satisfied I am with this place. Joe is an amazing dude, he is very polite, professional, clean and precise. I came in for a small piece and he was able to tattoo me the same day (I knew exactly what I wanted and where to put it). He has great bedside manner (we had a lovely conversation while he worked on my arm) and his lines are crisp and clean. Colors are vibrant and he even addled a few little touches that made my piece come out exceptional! I am very satisfied with my experience at Tattoo Joes and will be back for more work in the future. I have recently been working on a half sleeve with Joe but my sisters and friends have been clients of Joe's going way back. They highly recommended him to me and he has done great work for them. I have had a series of appointments over the last several months and have always found Joe to be professional, flexible and an all-around good guy. His work is fantastic. The level of detail and his dedication to getting the tattoo just right have resulted in some fantastic work that I am very proud of. Due to some family issues I have had to reschedule several of my appointments. While I felt terrible about screwing up Joe's schedule, he has never been anything but understanding and kind. The tattoo shop I originally went to closed and I wanted to get a new tattoo so my boyfriend suggested Tattoo Joes. Needless to say I won't go anywhere else for a tattoo. Joe is always extremely nice and willing to work with you on what you want. He does extra work like looking up images to help make him understand the subject he's tattooing. I've been getting tattooed by my good friend Joe for the last 6 years or so. Even now that I live in Hawaii i still won't get tattooed until I'm back in town. His work is certainly worth the wait. I have about 50 hours worth of joes work on me and I'm happy with every single tattoo he's done. I have been to Joe's twice, once for my belly button and once for a double cartilage piercing. Joe did a great job on both, they have healed great with no infections. Joe has done all of my tattoos (freehand) and has done all of my mom's, and most of my dad's tattoos. He puts his customers first and always does an amazing job! If you're after American Traditional, Richard might be a solid choice. But if you want Japanese Style or anything that requires more nuance and flow, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere or at least demanding to see a comprehensive portfolio first.
