left in tears...OF OVERWHELMING EMOTIONAL HAPPINESS!!!!…read more I had been carrying around a heavy heart and desperately needed to release the anger somehow. I had been playing around w getting a tattoo and this just felt like the right moment. i looked up local female tattoo artists on yelp and up popped Carpe Diem. 5 minutes later I was at the shop talking to the owner who quoted me a reasonable price and promptly introduced me to Saint. She took a copy of my inspo pic and got to work on the stencil. she came back with 3 sizes to give me a choice..how thoughtful was that?!! I chose the largest size and she got right to work. She made me feel comfortable as she worked on my shoulder and we chatted about life and love. i couldn't even tell you how long it took as i was so relaxed in her presence, metal playing in the background, feeling my anger slowly fade away with each stroke of the needle. She started a color count down, letting me know she was almost done. that's when the tears started. I swear it wasn't from the pain!! it was just from the exhilaration of being done and the release of anger. I practically ran to the mirror to see the finished artwork. OOOOH MAN, that's when the waterworks really started. i was just overwhelmed with how beautiful my tattoo was, the colors, the shape the placement, THE DETAIL. words cannot explain just how in awe i was (and still am 24 hours later). If you are on the fence , don't give it another thought. Get to Carpe Diem, ask for Saint today!!

Kat did the downsizing procedure this time and she was just as cool to work with as the first time I saw her. Kat's great because she makes you feel so comfortable and she really takes her time to explain what she's doing every step of the way. Switching out the helix post was nice and easy, the flat was a little more tender and a tiny bit painful (it got bumped a few more times during healing so far compared to the helix due to its location), but it calmed down after about 20 minutes, so it was not a big deal at all. Kat also told me despite the bumps/snags the flat experienced, the piercing was still lying perpendicular the way it was initially pierced, which is good news. Downsizing costs $15 per post and $10 for the service + tax. You get to keep your old posts too. Best of all, just like last time, they sterilize everything. It's now been a couple of days since downsizing and everything feels and looks great! Looking forward to these piercings healing up nicely, I can't wait! I still highly recommend JuL Head Piercing, they're great!

Tracy at the front desk was super helpful with check in and my questions about jewelry and what not. My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! Highly recommend this studio. Very grateful and happy with the experience here.

"Regarding your wait time, management confirmed it was significantly shorter than stated" - attached are photos at 6:20pm on 4/11/26 aka the time i went in & upon arrival i asked to use the restroom, i took a selfie amongst other pics & the date & time can be found on each one. When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. "we offered appointments at our other locations with free parking lots" - text attached of Tabithas convo but she definitely stated STREET parking, exactly how the LA location is so.. not sure where the "Convenience & Options" were. sorry it came to this Leo, maybe ask both sides next time instead of just listening to one.

They reassured me that all the piercers were well-equipped to help kids (and anyone) through their nerves, and he was 100% correct. When I said I was planning to get my nose pierced in solidarity and to ease her nerves, they counseled me to do her piercing first, because sometimes seeing the process can add to nerves rather than ease them. Appointments were easy to schedule online, and we booked with Dee, who was fantastic. Very calm and patient, explained everything she was going to do and talked us through it as she went, helped us to breathe through our anxiety, and then it was over. So fast, just a second of discomfort, and my daughter is thrilled with her new earrings.

This isn't my usual piercing place, but my friend goes here a lot and wanted me to try it, so I…read moredecided I'd give it a shot. My friend got her rook piercing and it happened so quick, it looked practically painless, and it made me excited for my piercing. Some backstory. I have multiple piercings on my ear and I have a belly button piercing. I also have a pretty high pain tolerance and usually make no noises of pain when getting pierced. I also have an industrial piercing and a daith. I decided for this day that I would get a nose piercing. I have never gotten a face piercing before and was extremely nervous since facial piercing pain is different than ears. However, after seeing my friend's piercing go so smoothly I felt better. That was unfortunately not the case My nose piercing took about 5 minutes, maybe longer when it should've taken way less. I guess I scrunched my nose up when my piercer was putting the jewelry in? so she struggled with that and just kept poking my nose over and over again trying to jam it through a hole that wasn't there. That's what hurt the most. I was in so much pain, writhing around and moaning in pain, I had never felt anything like it. It was so bad. I felt like I was going to pass out and I NEVER feel like that during piercings. I eventually took a break because I was feeling sick before continuing with the piercing. While the piercing is cute and I love it now, I don't feel comfortable coming back here I'm sure it wasn't the piercers fault, but for my own peace of mind, I'll stick to Barron Art.

I've visited this shop both at its previous location and its current one, and my experiences have…read morebeen pretty mixed. My biggest concern comes from a nose piercing I had done at the old location. Unfortunately, the piercing became painful and infected, and I developed a small keloid that lasted for months. I've had more than 12 piercings over the years and have never dealt with an infection or keloid before, so that experience really stood out and left me hesitant to trust the shop with future piercings. These days, I only stop in for tongue rings. I appreciate that they're affordable and that the staff uses a clamp to handle the jewelry instead of grabbing it with their fingers, which is a small but important sanitary detail. What has been frustrating is the inconsistency in pricing. On my first visit, I was told the deal was two tongue rings for $10, but I only received one and never got the second ring I paid for. On my most recent visit, I was told the promotion was actually two for $5. When I tried to explain what happened previously, my concerns were brushed off without an apology or any attempt to make things right, which was disappointing. On top of that, I've been there twice in the past two months and their POS system has not been working either time. Because of that, they are currently cash only. It felt like a recurring issue rather than a one-off inconvenience, and it would definitely help the experience if payment systems were more reliable. I genuinely hope this business continues to improve because I'd like to keep supporting a local shop instead of traveling farther for body jewelry. The location is convenient, especially being right off the Yellow Line when parking in the area is limited, and there's definitely potential here. Better consistency, stronger customer service, and more attention to quality would go a long way toward rebuilding trust.

She was also rude to a group of young women that were there getting tattooed, at one point she came into the room and stopped the tattooer mid sesh to complain to him over unnecessary things which I would consider unacceptable. If she is mad about doing her job then maybe don't work there ? (Food for Thought) The vibes sucked due to her lack of work ethics.
