My friend and I planned to meet elsewhere, but he suggested somewhere closer to my workplace after learning I'd have to drive an hour to meet him there.  I settled on Warwick, RI as it was a halfway point for both of us, then searched Yelp.   The reviews for Tavern 21, along with their pub-type menu and having Blue Moon on tap sealed the deal. We arrived at 530 on a Thursday night within a few minutes of each other.  I grabbed a booth against the wall. The booths were raised slightly above floor level, and there was a ridge about six inches from the bottom where I could literally rest my heels. Nice touch.   A server arrived quickly and took my drink order, despite being in the middle of the dinner rush. Most patrons were seated around the bar, but there were a few sitting at the high tops or in the booths like I was.  Another thing I noticed right away was how clean the bathrooms were.   A few minutes later, I ordered an appetizer while I waited for my friend. Two giant, soft and chewy pretzels arrived with a side of honey mustard. They were too hot to touch and I had to let them cool for a few minutes so I could eat them, but they stayed warm.  A refreshing change from the hard, dry, variety you find in department stores and at stadiums. None of that garbage here.   My friend ordered the meatloaf sandwich and a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw seemed homemade, with small square pieces of, instead of the razor-thin strips that most places serve. I don't usually eat slaw myself (not even sure what all its ingredients are) but it looked good. He enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich as well.   I ordered Mango-Habanero wings, after our server said it was the hottest sauce they had. The sweetness of the mango offsets the heat of the habanero for a perfect balance. The wings left my lips tingling, but it wasn't an overwhelming heat.   As the evening wore on, the crowd thinned out, but our server checked on us regularly and cheerfully offered to refill our drinks whenever she passed by.     My friend wanted dessert, and was surprised when the server replied they don't really offer desserts. She added that they were on the menu previously, but didn't really sell. The closest thing to dessert was a plate of deep-fried Oreos, which he ordered and devoured.     Great food, great service in a pleasant, clean, and friendly atmosphere. read more

Took a chance ordering food from here and was very disappointed. Nachos had no cheese, added extra chicken and received what looked like a chicken tender, as in one tender, tossed on top. The menu says 4 sliders. I received 3 in each order. Fries were overcooked as were the onion rings. Delivery driver from Grubhub was there on time and delivered early, so not the drivers fault. you won't get good service here unless you're a regular. Worst service i've ever had at a restaurant and it ruined the entire experience. Girls working will sit behind the bar and will not come check on your for 30 minutes at a time. Spend an hour and a half here and only ordered dinner, oh and the place was a ghost town there were only regulars at the bar not even 10 people total in the restaurant including my table of 2. We came in here around 9:15pm. I told the waitress before we even ordered drinks that I was excited to try one of their desserts. Waitress came to drop off food and once more to fill waters around 9:45. We were done with our food and waiting for someone to come over by 10pm. A server didn't come to my table until 10:33 and proceeded to tell me the kitchen closed at 10:30 when i tried to put my dessert order in. Wtf? Not even a warning about when the kitchen closed or last calls for orders to put in. It's too bad cuz the food was really good, horrible service will never come back and don't recommend coming here unless you want to be waiting all night for someone to refill your drink or take your order, or if you plan on trying to become a regular. GREAT bar food. You can tell that everything is made fresh and from scratch. I've been twice now. The first time was about a month ago after my kids' ice skating show. We had both sets of grandparents and our 3 kids with us. 2 older people, 2 even older people, 2 vegetarians, full on meat eaters and kids. Not the easiest crowd to please! The menu looked great online and I called to make sure it was cool to come with kids (2pm Saturday afternoon). When we got there they already had a table set for us. We got drinks, ordered our food... everything came out great. The home made veggie burgers were awesome. The fish and chips was massive and incredibly fresh. Crinkle cut fries...classic and my favorite. Potato skins that were not prefab frozen like most. Everything was just really fresh and good. Service was great. It is a sports bar so there's a million TV's and it's a little loud but honestly that's better for me when I'm out with the kids. Takes the pressure off! I've been back since for my lunch break (I work for a food service company). Again good food. They're not even trying to cut costs on the dressings. Obviously using the best that's available. We liked this place overall. Quintessential local sports bar. We came in on a Thursday night and we were immediately seated in the booth section of the bar. The service was pretty attentive for 10:30pm while the bar was moderately busy. They had a full menu which was fantastic. We got the Cobb salad and the tater tots both with dressing on the side. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Surprisingly so. Our server checked on us several times and it was overall a great experience. When we paid out it turned out we had accidentally been overcharged. She was apologetic and fixed the mistake quickly without any back and forth. We really appreciated her fixing the issue. So the only negative was that this is a bar and there was a birthday party going on next to the pool tables. We were expecting a decent amount of noise but holy crap this party was unbearably loud. Singing at the top of their lungs, screaming, the whole nine yards. In all fairness, someone put Journey on the jukebox. Although it was 10:30 on a Thursday. Eventually we ended up leaving instead of having another drink because the acoustics of the place are just not set up for loud parties like that. That being said - still a 4 star place. We're not unrealistic and knew we were going to a bar. We wouldn't hold the volume and intensity of a party against an otherwise great establishment. I came here for lunch today with some coworkers. In total, it was a party of 6. I heard this place was pretty good. There were people mostly at the bar and we were the only patrons at the table. It's nice inside. More like a sports bar with a lot of tv's and there's also a small pool table. The waitress was very friendly. She attended to us fairly quickly. It took some time for our food to come considering not many people were there. I ordered the Southwest Chicken wrap with fries. The fries were really good! Seasoned well, not too crispy and just really appetizing. The wrap was really good, but when I ordered it I asked for no onions. When my wrap came, i had to pick out an onion. I asked the waitress if she told the chef no onions and she said yes. She went to check with him and he told her he didn't put any onions in my wrap although I clearly saw one. Although I told her I was fine with it and was just checking..she was very apologetic. Then not so long afterwards, the chef came out and apologized. As I figured, one probably just got mixed in. I thought that was so sweet of him!! When I got my bill, they even wrote another note apologizing with a gift card welcoming me back for lunch. That alone won me! I went in for lunch and encountered a wonderful surprise. Not only did they have ample parking but they also had a very good crowd for lunch, which I learned over the years, is a good thing! So I ordered a Loose Cannon IPA along with a black bean wrap, which is not on the online menu. When the food arrived, the wrap was delicious but it needed an added punch. I don't know if the bartender-waitress read my mind or what, but out of nowhere, she suggested a chipotle mayo to dip the wrap in. BINGO!! That mayo should accompany every order of the wrap as it put it over the top and completed a very nice lunch. Thank you!! read more

Not really a fan of this establishment. The place has a very different feel depending on when you go. Some nights (like Wednesday) are super busy and you will be standing person to person and not be able to walk. Other nights is its D E A D inside. Oh but wait, just b/c there is no one in there does not mean you are going to get quick quick service. We went Saturday night, early even for the 25 cent wing special and a few pitchers of beer. The waitress had no personality and no real skill other than writing down the order and brining it out. Not personable at all. The food came out quick and they even got a refill on our pitcher pretty fast but when we were done we waited, and waited, and waited. I had to walk up to the bar to ask for our check and even after all of that our waitress didn't even bring it some other server did. Drinks are so so and they are not cheap. Karaoke there is awful. It gets super loud so do not go here if you want to unwind or have a conversation with friends. Went here on a whim, especially with all the positive reviews the place has received here. The place looked pretty clean and new both inside and out. When we arrived, I didn't see a sign that said seat yourself or wait to be seated, so we stood there awkwardly about a minute and no one either at the bar or walking the floor said anything or approached us, so we eventually seated ourselves. We waited a while before a waitress came over to bring menus and utensils. She was friendly and attentive once she came over. When we ordered, we put everything in at the same time and were surprised when the food arrived before the starters. Most places bring out the apps first whether you order them together or separately. So if you'd like the starters prior to your meal, I'd recommend ordering them first. To me, the calamari was good. It comes with banana peppers and oil and also a marinara side for dipping. I prefer mine with just oil and peppers. They were fried well, not greasy. The stuffie was just ok. It was small, and didn't have distinguishable pieces of clams or scallops in it. It may be minced but I like encountering pieces of clam in my stuffie. We also ordered wings with the habanero mango sauce. The chicken was well cooked and crispy, but skimped on the sauce. You could taste a little sweet on it from the mango, but nothing that resembled habanero, and you could barely see any sauce on the wings. Having been to various wing places, I expected a more generous amount of sauce and flavor. Lastly, I ordered the breakfast burger and my gf ordered the cuban. The burger was ok. The burger was cooked to order and came out medium as requested. I felt it could have had a little more flavor though. The cuban was excellent however. Full of flavor, well cooked. I would definitely recommend it if you like cubans. All in all, I think 3 stars is a fair assessment. I wouldn't mind going here again, but I would probably try different items than I had for this visit. read more

I tried this place out based on a recommendation from shuttle driver at a hotel I was staying at . Beer was good , atmosphere average ...just a typical sports bar . I ordered the fish and chips. It came with fries and cole slaw which was decent . The fish , after getting half way through it ...not so good . The breading was nice ...there was just something off about the texture of the fish and realized it probably was frozen for too long and undercooked half way through . Visiting from Orlando and found this place on yelp with 4+ rating. Lots of tvs to watch, food was actually really good. Service was below par - 2 bartenders and got ignored while they chatted with each other. Worst part of this experience - ants! First booth had 3 crawling on table and told bartender/server. Moved down two booths and as finishing meal guess what crawls across the table....yep, another ant. I wish we found this place earlier in the football season, because its perfect for catching a game. When my friend and I walked in, the manager(?) noted our jerseys and put our team's game on two TV's so we could easily see it. We didn't even have to ask! That's one heck of a first impression. The waitresses were great at checking on every table and making sure cups were always full. There are PLENTY of tv's so theres no worry about not having your teams game on, either. There are so many places to grab some food and a beer surrounding TF Green and I feel like I really messed up after going to Tavern 12 instead of one of the many other options. I can see the place for what it is; with all the massive amounts of tvs it's probably a great place to pack in, shoulder to shoulder, to watch a game. The prices are decent and despite most of the beer offerings being of the Bud/Coors variety, there were a couple of decent options. But damn, was that food bad. The pot stickers were crispy and stale rather than tasting like dumplings. The mozzarella sticks were taken from the freezer and then topped with the cheap parmesan cheese than you get off the shelf at the grocery store. The burgers, ordered medium, were charred to the point of inedibleness. If the power went out at my place and there was a big game on tv that I couldn't watch then I could see myself heading back to Tavern 12, but I'd make sure that I ate at somewhere decent first. read more

Karaoke nights get a little crazy. It's small, crowded and really hard to get a drink. Most of the tables get taken pretty quickly which tends to leave you standing and mostly in the way of others trying to navigate the bar which can be a pain shuffling back and forth constantly. Music is loud and impossible to hold a conversation. If that is your thing you have come to the right place. Myself, I like a place where I can sit down at a booth or something and share a pitcher with some friends with some conversation. So, for some it might be awesome. For me, ehhh, not quite. read more

I've visited this establishment three times now over the past three years. I was staying at an area hotel and found it on Yelp. Very casual place. Lots of "regulars" despite being near a airport and a lot of hotels. While the place doesn't seem to be the most organized some how the service is great. They have a very conscientious staff. The food was fresh and delicious on all three of my visits. The menu is classic pub fare with a lot of choices. I've had a couple different sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers. They were all very good. I will definitely return if I visit the area again. read more
