Decided to try this place since it's a Thursday and we can actually get in without waiting an hour or so. Glad we got in. It's a very busy place but we'll organized. The service was good and everyone was pleasant. We each had a seasonal drink that consisted of cider. Delicious. We decided on fried calamari and seared tuna for appetizers. Both were excellent. The calamari was light and tender and didn't need any sauce at all. The tuna was seared perfectly and the wasabi sauce next to it had just enough heat. Great ambience and fantastic outdoor seating! I found Tavern 5 on Yelp (picked it for the good reviews and large patio area), and was definitely not disappointed. My sister and I had no trouble getting a same-day reservation on a Saturday night. We started off with a few cocktails, Garden Party (so refreshing, with an incredible aftertaste of honey!) and the Basil berry margarita (also delicious, but a little bit more sour than expected). For food, we tried the veggie burger (our favorite! All the burgers here look great), the ribeye spring rolls (not bad, a larger portion than expected), the seared ahi tuna (just ok!), and the garlic shrimp (shrimp itself was good, but the bread was too toasted to soak up any of the garlic sauce). After dinner, we also got the chocolate lava cake, which was delicious! Overall, good (but not amazing) food, great drinks, super friendly staff (Sherry was fantastic!), and wonderful ambiance. Updating my review. Tavern 5 has improved! The food is pricey but the portions are good and the flavor is good. Its a very busy restaurant so keep that in mind. Having 1 bartender on a Saturday night really slows things down. Overall, I like this place. read more

We were looking for a spot with outdoor dining to have a late lunch and stumbled on Tavern 5 through a Yelp search. I'm so glad we found this place! We started with the nachos which were very good- better than we expected! We both ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and loved it. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We opted for chipotle aioli on our sandwiches instead of ranch, which was delicious. Service was friendly and the patio has a great ambiance, with tables that are well-spaced apart. Stopped by on a busy Thursday night and was surprised af with how quick the service was. The Crispy Chicken Sandwhich was the truly delicous. It wasnt greasy, and had an awesome little kick. Everything tasted really fresh. From the food to the cocktails. We tried the burrata pasta special and it was a lot lighter then expected. However the serving was huge so come hungry! This spot kept popping up all over Instagram and it looked great so my girl and I decided to go with a couple of my good friends. I would highly recommend!! It was a beautiful day out so we sat in the outdoor dining area in the back. Super nice! The area was complete with a turf floor, string lights and it was enclosed in tall wall of plants. We got there around 6 pm and they had more than enough seating. Starting with the drinks we had a Mango Frozé.. it was a top notch choice. Literally everyone at the table ended up ordering a few after the first round. We also had a refreshing watermelon drink that was really good but just got overshadowed by the frozé. We ended up enjoying ourselves so much that the words "Shot?" slipped out and we ended up taking more than a few. To start my girl and I ordered the rib-eye spring rolls which were okay but they lacked flavor without the dipping sauce. I think we will try something different next time. My girl got the prosciutto pizza which she raved about.. she said she'd 100% order it again. I got the chicken rice bowl and my friend Angela got the steak rice bowl... both were amazing and I think the best option on the menu but I was jealous of the steak bowl tbh. Finally my boy Matt got the New York Strip. I think he could sense me getting jealous so he gave me some and it was seasoned really well. Tavern 5 is that place you go to for the outdoor vibes and a chill night with some friends. Eat, drink and just enjoy yourselves with good convo. Had a bit of a better experience here when coming with my family. I still didn't think the service was really attentive or anything to mention unfortunately but the food dishes were better. I ordered the short ribs and it was super tender, falling right apart without a knife and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and veggies were good. I will also mention that 2 people ordered the Pork Chop and thought it was cooked really well and a good portion size. I reordered the rice balls because I loved them last time. Just a little taste for everyone at the table. We arrived on a weekday at 4:45pm and there was no one in the dining area. They said beginning at 5, it's reservation only and sat us by the bar at a high top. We were a little confused considering there was ALL empty tables. Even as the night and our dinner progressed, there was PLENTY of empty tables so it didn't make any sense. Nice restaurant with predominantly Italian American fair. Design is modern and environment is very clean. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Server informed us that they were about to run out of chicken Parm and they already ran out of lobster roll I planned to order. Special flatbread with peaches was very mild and was clearly missing something sharp and salty like prosciutto. scallops and risotto were delicious, so was flank steak with truffle fries. Delicious food and fun atmosphere! Tavern 5 did not disappoint. Really extensive menu and an equally as extensive and impressive beer list. Came here on a Friday night and it was PACKED. It was raining outside which took away all the outdoor seating so it was extremely chaotic inside trying to get everyone seated. I highly recommend making a reservation, they were taking absolutely no walk ins that evening. My friend and I shared the Jim Beam wings - the sauce was awesome but I wish there was more of it! I wish this place offered salads without cheese and or vegan options. Yes I can get a salad and omit the cheese but you are still charged the same price. Why is that? Today we went for lunch and I had the avocado bruschetta without cheese and queen bee drink. Both were really good and the presentation begged for a photo. I took my sister out for a birthday dinner here over the weekend. We did not make a reservation as it was a last minute decision to come here however it seemed like a lot of people coming in had reservations - so I recommend doing that. Regardless we waited maybe 15 minutes for a table and it was Saturday night so that's totally normal. The place was busy which is always a great sign. There is a regular menu and a seasonal menu. We ordered arancini & a prosciutto pizza with arugula to start. Arancini was good/ok but the pizza was delicious. For entrees, my sister ordered the shrimp orzo off the specials menu & it looked & tasted amazing. I got the chicken milanese which was cooked to perfection and nice & thin. The atmosphere here is lively which works anywhere for a family night out, girls night or date night. There is a full bar w/seating in front when you walk in. A solid 3.5 stars! Their cocktails were really yummy. I got the misunderstood berry julep which was made up of ginger spiced whiskey, mint syrup, blackberries lemonade and mint and it was delightful. I got mozzarella sticks which were perfectly crispy on the outside. I also ordered the margherita pizza and the dough was extremely undercooked and floppy on the bottom, and the flavor was a little lackluster, which is why I didn't give a full 4 stars. One of our go to spots for takeout or eat in that's near the house. The Ribwye is surprisingly good. Tacos were good. The Gf enjoyed several apps at different times. Cocktails are good too. Previously one of our favorite restaurants. Very disappointed tonight. Calamari was greasy and under-cooked. Hamburgers (4) were all severely under-cooked. I ordered medium and it was bloody, son in law ordered medium rare and it was bloody rare.... The chicken in Chicken Cesar was tough (overcooked). We had to send several dishes back. Server was nice but not attentive. We will give it one more chance before we take it permanently off our list of go to restaurants. read more

We had a great dinner at Tavern 5 last night. The only complaint I have was the portion size of the salads. Two of us each had the country chicken salad. It was delicious, though it was not a dinner-size portion. For $19.95, it should have been a large salad. It was half the size I anticipated. Tavern 5 has a gorgeous outdoor set up. They have a huge tent in one area with high tops. You can order drinks as you wait for your table which was a nice touch. The actual sit down dining area had turf floors with beautiful umbrellas and greenery enclosing the space. They added string lights to the entire area which created a nice ambiance. The food and drinks were excellent. For cocktails, we really enjoyed the mango madness and golden hour. On the food side, the nachos, spring rolls, French onion soups and burgers were delicious. This is ONLY the 2nd time we have eaten here and it's better than the 1st. From the moment you walk in the hostess are welcoming. The outside sitting area is adorable and cozy. The service was outstanding...thank you Samantha ;) THE FOOD...so we started with Garlic Shrimp & Seared Ahi Tuna which was FRESH & perfectly made. Our main course was NY STRIP which wan not made to order (medium rare) but hubby said it was tasty so he didn't send it back, and the Prosciutto Pizza and I loved it, especially that I have left-overs for lunch. This is your typical American restaurant. It's definitely nothing to be "wowed" over in my opinion. Their menu is boring and basic. They have burgers, pastas, and traditional American entrees. However, they do have specials that you can choose from that change throughout the week. The interior is very modern and well decorated. Typically, if come early you won't have to deal with a wait. With that being said, if you arrive after 6 expect a wait. Since there aren't many great eats in the area this place gets packed on weekend.
