First time here for me. The fam has been here many. The food was very good. We got they buy one get one wings special. The Parmesan garlic were terrific. Big size and cooked perfectly. Delicious. The carrot and celery sides were crazy fresh and crisp. The kids got a burger and a chicken wrap, and they were very happy with it. I had the wedge salad with two wedges. I love a wedge salad, and it's hard to find a good one. This was a good one! I got two wedges since it was my dinner. I could've done with one because it was that big. But it was delicious. The lettuce was so fresh and crispy. The blue cheese crumble was generous as was the bacon. The cherry tomatoes were fresh. And the blue cheese dressing was delicious. I have been coming to this restaurant regularly for about two years, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. That is why my interaction with a manager named Eric was so surprising and disappointing. I ordered a $30 bottle of Josh wine because my wife could not drink, and I was not going to order and enjoy something great in front of her. I am admittedly a wine snob and do not normally drink Josh. I chose it because it was inexpensive, I could have two glasses with dinner, and the remainder could sit in my refrigerator for a future guest, such as my mother. The bottle itself meant virtually nothing to me. After having only two glasses, the remaining wine was securely corked, and I was leaving with my wife, our 18-month-old child, and our food to go. As I was walking out, Eric asked whether I wanted a bag. I assumed he was simply offering one as a courtesy, so I declined and continued walking. He then stopped me in front of my wife, child, and customers sitting at the bar and told me I could not take the bottle because it was illegal. I explained that I have taken securely corked unfinished bottles home from restaurants throughout New Jersey without ever having an issue. More importantly, I have done this exact same thing at this very restaurant before. On prior visits, the bottle was securely corked, I took it home, and no one stopped me, told me it was illegal, or required it to be placed in a paper bag. Only after I questioned what he was saying did his position change. He initially said I could not take the bottle at all. He then shifted to saying that I could take it if he placed it in a bag and described that as restaurant policy. Had he simply said from the beginning, "We need to place the bottle in a bag before you leave," there would have been no issue whatsoever. Instead, he publicly confronted me, accused me of doing something illegal, and initially acted as though he was going to take away a bottle I had paid for. He never apologized after changing his explanation. I did not try to continue walking out, raise my voice, or behave inappropriately. I simply stood there, surprised by what was happening. My frustration grew because his explanation kept changing, and the entire interaction felt increasingly disrespectful and unnecessary. At that point, I told him I no longer wanted the bottle. Again, I did not care about the bottle itself. It was a $30 wine I do not normally drink and had only purchased because of the circumstances. The issue was entirely the accusation and the confrontational way he handled something that could have been resolved politely in one sentence. He eventually returned with the bottle wrapped in a paper bag and repeatedly emphasized that he was the manager while I explained my displeasure to the women and waiter at the front. My wife was also completely dumbfounded and spoke up to say that the situation was strange and that what he had initially claimed was not true. This restaurant has otherwise always been friendly, which made it especially surprising to encounter this behavior from its manager. Customers should not be publicly accused of illegal conduct over a packaging rule that had never previously been communicated or enforced, particularly when the restaurant had allowed me to take home a securely corked bottle in the exact same manner on prior visits. Regardless of the food quality, this experience has genuinely soured me on the restaurant, and I do not believe I will return. A manager should know how to de-escalate a minor misunderstanding, communicate a policy clearly, and acknowledge when his initial explanation was wrong. Eric did none of those things, and his conduct likely cost the restaurant a regular customer. read more

We went here for my nephew's birthday. We were seated in a timely manner because we had reservations. Our server was on top of his game. He got our drink order and appetizers order pretty quickly. Everyone likes their food for the most part. I had the Franklin Big Mac and, I can tell you, it's much better than McDonald's Big Mac. The dining room was clean and it wasn't too loud despite having a bar close to the dining room. Actually was at the tavern because of a training for work in Franklins event space. After the presentation lunch was served and the Caesar wraps and buffalo wraps and Big Mac sliders were all delicious. There were also chicken parm sliders that other attendees said were delicious. I usually come to the Franklin Steakhouse & Tavern on Sunday's during the football season. They have a long bar, plenty of TVs, a huge drink menu with beer on tap and weekend specials. This time I came for lunch. I ordered the ribeye sliders ($10.99). It came with three sliders. a festival of French fries and a cup of horseradish. I like my steak medium rare. I do not like steak that I have to fight with because it is too chewy. I like the steak to come out hot. This ribeye was to my liking in all those criteria. The French fries also came out hot and were thick enough to taste the potato. The horseradish could have been less creamy. Add a little more ribeye and this would have been a 5 Star. Service was quick and professional, but it was only about 3 pm. The restaurant is clean with basic simple furniture and chairs. Take a look at my photos. Been here a couple of times on the weekends for drinks or to watch Sunday football. Friendly staff and service is good... plenty of tv's to to watch the various sports games all year long. Full bar with plenty of drink options. Diverse menu and have tried a couple of dishes there also weekend specials - fried pickles are good. California club is good enough to share as well as the sliders and fries. Side house salad had a bit of kick and spicy or was it the dressing... will stick to caesar salad or balsamic vinagrette next time. Came here for lunch recently with a friend. He had the Steak Fajita; I had the Steak Quesadilla. Both were excellently prepared. The amount of steak on the fajita dish was impressive! The tortillas on the quesadilla were grilled perfectly and had a great mix of marinaded meat, peppers, onions, cheese. Our service was fast, on point and pleasant. Went to Franklin Steakhouse for my wife's birthday celebration. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 8 and infant grandson. They also met the dietary needs and requests of everyone. We were a party of 9 on a Saturday night and had the best dinner celebrating a birthday. Food was fantastic, service was excellent! Our waitress Anna was absolutely amazing! Got all of our orders perfect without writing anything down, was funny, friendly and responsive! What can I say about one of my favorite places. The drink menu is giant and there are always great specialty drinks. I love the different Bloody Mary's they have. We shared a shrimp cocktail and steamed clams. Both excellent. The lemon garlic sauce the clams were in is fantastic. I could eat it like soup. Our group wanted steak after our children's music recital and decided to try Franklin Steakhouse. The decor is basic but clean. Reminds me of an old school bar/steak house. Nice large bar and dining area. We were a party of 8 so we tried a variety of food. 6 of our party had filet mignon, unfortunately, most of them were slightly over cooked and dry. 2 people had the lobster bisque and really enjoyed them. We all split a couple of the large pretzel appetizers and enjoyed those as well. Because we were a party of 8 gratuity was included, and they also charge for using a credit card, so it was a bit disappointing that a mediocre meal came to $450. The upside was the service. First off this place is SO UNDERRATED. I've driven past this restaurant probably 100 times in my life and finally went this past weekend. I went in a mid sized group and their service was so fast and amazing even considering it was a Saturday night. The food was amazing from everything I tried from the giant pretzel, Mac sliders, chicken tenders, chicken caesar wrap. We're all amazing I am just drooling re writing this. Ate here for the first time this past summer after a family outing and was not disappointed! For appetizers we ordered their philly cheesesteak egg rolls & the loaded potatoes skins. The egg rolls came with this great chipotle mayo dipping sauce. For mains, I got the Ribeye Steak Quesadilla, my dad got the Delmonico Black Angus Steak, and my sister in law got the Sizzling Steak Platter. I loved the quesdilla. The ribeye was nice and tender, it was flavorful and super filling. My dad - who is an avid steak eater - was happy. My sister said her steak was cooked a little too much for her liking. However, she did forget to tell the waitress how she wanted the steak cooked so that was on her. None the less, she really enjoyed her meal. Preparing for Lent I opt'ed for the Fish Tacos that I found plentiful and enjoyable, fish was not over cooked and had nice flavor. My companion ordered Thai chicken lettuce wraps and again the portion size was ample and flavor was good and chicken cooked. My husband and I have been to Franklin steakhouse three or four times, hello food has always been great. Our most recent trip we had a fantastic meal. I had the filet mignon medium rare with a side of coleslaw, my husband had balsamic pork chop with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. My steak was out of this world. The coleslaw was outstanding as well. My husband's pork chop was like butter, and the sautéed spinach was fantastic, and the mashed potatoes were excellent.
