    Buffalo Chicken Wrap

The atmosphere here is warm and friendly. The hostess was hustling to clear tables for those of us on the waiting list - she even thanked us for our patience at least twice. It was an event night in Lansing, I don't know how long the wait would be on an average night, but even with a big event we only waited 15 minutes at most. The tater tots that came with my wrap were the best I've had. They were perfectly crispy and stayed warm for a long time. Our service was excellent - even on a busy night, our food came fast.

My boyfriend and I came for brunch and we will def be back again! He got the biscuits and gravy (he's a gravy fanatic and LOVED it) and I got the eggs benny vegetarian style. So so good. Wish there'd been more hollandaise sauce but the eggs were perfectly poached and the potatoes were perfectly crispy but soft on the inside we also got the cinnamon roll coffee which was soooooooo good and even had a cute mini cinnamon roll on top! Also our server Eric was terrific!!! Food came out super fast!!

So excited that Tavern has finally re-opened. Brunch is awesome! $2 Mimosa's Saturday from 9am to 12pm! $3.50 after that. Loaded Bloody Mary's with my choice of Original, Bacon or Black Pepper Vodka for only $6.95. The Burgers are fantastic too!

Located 1 block over from the Capitol, this spot is a political hangout. Always an elected official or group of staffers somewhere within the four walls. The beer list was average at best, and their cocktail menu is almost all with captain Morgan and the tiniest drink ever. The food comes in VERY small portions for the price of food. Add a 3-4% charge to your bill just for paying with a credit card. I went on a Thursday night and they had live music, but it was so loud I could barely hear the people at my table and the place was barely busy to have the music that loud. I would come to this place once in a blue moon for a different atmosphere but Lansing has better happy hour spots

As far as breakfast's go, this was just okay. I got some steak and eggs. The eggs were well done, and the steak was fine - though seemingly just your garden-variety meat. Just your standard-morning style breakfast joint - which lined up precisely with what the yelp-verse claimed it would be. I was hoping for more, but nope. Just food. The design is really nice though. I wouldn't return, but it made me full - so take what you will from that.

Delicious food, great options. I ordered the BLT-A and would highly reccomend this one. Its a lite option and was cooked to perfection. This was my first time here, but a friend of mine recommended making reservations before you plab to come. Great for brunch options

The patio has a great view!

The food was great, but the service was less than thrilling. A group of 4 women, we came in for happy hour drinks and food around 5:30pm. We had planned to stay until 7:30 or so in hopes to see the jazz. We had made our intentions clear to the server, but he ignored us for long periods of time so we each were only able to order a single drink (which was mostly ice) each. The food that came out was ok, flavor wise and was served in large portions. Most of us had to ask for a box. This request must of confused our server because he immediately brought our checks (it was only 6:25pm). When we reminded him that we planned to stay and drink until the Jazz started, he informed us that the Jazz wouldn't be happening that evening because the musician's wife had just had a baby. Congrats to them, but we had made our plans clear to both the seating hostess and our server prior to this point. No one told us about the cancellation until after we had spent some money at the restaurant. That's a pretty shady way to do business, if you ask me. Needless to say that we won't be back. On a positive note: Their patio has a great view of the capital building.

We came here for brunch at about noon on Saturday. They have great brunch drink specials, $3 mimosas and $5 bloody marys. The mimosa was pretty good, a big glass. I've been having chicken and waffles withdrawals since moving to Lansing, so when I saw them on the menu I got really excited. Have you ever had a Monte Cristo sandwich? With the sweet, crunchy delicious texture of the fried batter covering the sandwich? That's what the fried chicken was battered in, it tasted so good! I've never had fried chicken like this, it was amazing. The waffle and gravy were just okay. I wonder if you can order the fried chicken at dinner time by itself? Anyway, I enjoyed this place. We will come back but next time for dinner.

    "cherry cobbler"

Ive been to Tavern & Tap once before for a (very lowkey) Bachelorette party once before and the service was subpar at best, but I thought we might have come on a bad night, so I gave it another chance with my husband. I am so disappointed in our experience. We were practically ignored by waitstaff the whole time, never once was offered a refill, took 30 minutes to get salads and then 20 additional minutes to get a dessert for my birthday, only to have the worst cherry cobbler I have ever seen in my life come out. Looked fine at first, but turned out to be cold maraschino cherries (yes, the kind you put in drinks and on sundaes!) with cold and stale granola cereal on top, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of what's supposed to be a warm dessert. I was so taken aback on how terrible it was. I hate writing reviews like this, but this is honestly unacceptable.

Salmon with roasted peppers, fingerling potatoes and a beurre blanc sauce. It was very tasty!

I was baffled by the poor reviews for this place. The service wasn't great, but I thought the food was quite good. I stayed at the Radisson across the street and after a quick stop at the hotel's restaurant (and subsequent sorrow and disappointment) I ended up here for the next meal. I had salmon with roasted peppers, fingerling potatoes and a beurre blanc sauce. The dish was very flavorful and filling and the vegetables tasted fresh. The service during that visit was very poor. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy and I felt that despite the rather empty restaurant the staff was inattentive. We stayed inside the restaurant for this meal and despite the lack of guests, it was still very loud and difficult to hear the person across from me speaking. I went here for lunch the following day and sat outside. If you have the opportunity to be seated outside, I recommend it. You can kind of see the capital and it makes for great people watching. I had the pecan salmon salad which was delicious. Portion size for this was pretty over-the-top (I was only able to finish 1/3 of my food) but it tasted wonderful. Despite being much busier, the service during lunch was improved. I would recommend going here for a reasonably priced, good meal if you're in Lansing.

I visit Tavern and Tap occasionally during the week with coworkers, but my favorite is their weekend brunch. I really like the fact that they're open Saturday and Sunday for brunch. Most places in Lansing only offer brunch on Sunday. They also have $2 mimosas and a $5 Bloody Mary bar. The mimosas aren't very strong, but worth it for the price. They have an interesting menu that changes somewhat frequently. My favorite brunch items are the loaded waffles. I'm not a huge fan of sweet breakfast foods so the ham and cheese waffle is my go to. My boyfriend tried the French toast and he really enjoyed it. Also on the dinner menu, they have this Old Bay seasoned popcorn that's really good. Whenever I go with my coworker we always order a bowl- sometimes two!

Our appetizers were each excellent. Our group ordered the Brussels sprouts and white fish dip. Would order those again. For entres, we enjoyed the burgers, filet mignon, chicken bowl, and crab caps. The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

The staff was extremely kind and helped me with making suggestions. The duck ravioli was delicious (the sauce was like warm) I would have preferred it hotter but undeniably good. I'm really sad because I think I make the best steak at home of course but this steak was the bomb. It was cooked perfectly. I asked for medium and they delivered. The pork belly in the Brussel sprouts was so tender and flavorful. The restaurant is a little small so I recommend making reservations. My drink was okay (but I'm heavy handed) so alcohol might have been in it. Lol I will definitely be back.

PHENOMENAL... but let me explain…read more I will start off by saying this place is tiny. If you try to walk in, chances are you will not get a table. I tried twice with no luck. I finally got in with a reservation and I was not disappointed. You absolutely must order steak here. Skip the sea bass or chicken and go for what they are known for. The Cowboy Ribeye was perfection. Juicy, seasoned beautifully, and so good that even though we ordered bleu cheese and horseradish sauce, we hardly touched them. Honestly, you do not need garnishes. To make the meal even better, try the Brussels with Pork Belly as a side to share. I could do without the pork belly, but the dish still worked really well. For a drink, the Nightcap was delicious and hit the spot. At first I was unsure, since the restaurant is small and the table next to us had a group of very loud business men, which made it hard to talk. That is the only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere. Thankfully they left early in our dinner, and the rest of the experience was wonderful. The service was excellent. We were told the steaks might take some time since they are large, but it did not feel like a long wait at all. I will definitely be coming back when I am craving steak. Come hungry because the portions are big. Highly recommended.
