What more could you ask for? Our group was treated by Mallory, the head of Brickhouse's kitchen, with the newest addition to their wings menu: Bang Bang Bang Wings. They were delicious. While advertised as hot, the triple bang best describes the flavor. Vibrant and savory with just enough heat you can feel. Totally safe for those that fear wings with too much heat. We also tried the "Jale-mango" wings. These were pretty mild as far as heat, but full of sweet mango-ey flavor. A great pepper/fruit combo with the glaze sauce. To wash the wings down, I enjoyed a pint of "Don't Fear the Reaper" by local brewery 18th Street. Definitely worth a visit. And Brickhouse is connected to the Art Theater in downtown Hobart making It the perfect pre or post show watering hole.

I just asked for a draft beer. He said well I'm not the server but she'll be along shortly. I said, sorry, you were looking at me so I figured you wanted to know what I wanted. He then said, "no, I was more interested in what you have in your bag." I had a small white Walmart type grocery bag sitting on the bar. I told him I just had reading materials in the bag. It's the same type bag I bring in there nearly every week when I come in there to drink and read. In my bag I bring reading materials, a spare batt and charge cord for my tablet, and a case of pens and highlighters, and cigars. I don't know if he thought I was bringing a bomb in there or what, but that really pissed me off. I noticed there were women at the bar who had purses on the bar, so was he concerned about the contents of their purses? No. So he's looking at me and telling me he's wondering what's in my little white grocery bag. I came in there many times before with same small ass bag doing the same routine at the bar: peacefully smoking a cigar, drinking a few beers for an hour or two, reading, and leaving. I don't know what I did to semi-trigger this dude to suddenly direct his attention on me and my bag as soon as I sat down as if I were a criminal or a terrorist, but fine, I'll find another bar, simple enough to fix.

And by garlic I mean huge cloves of it. Both the scallops and filet had cloves of garlic all over. The filet was cooked great, but I didn't have any juice from the steak and the flavor was blown out by the garlic. Just refer to a majority of my reviews, more than willing to pay a premium price for an awesome dining experience, but the food is first and foremost important. The menu is very versatile-there's something for everyone. I love the blackened chicken sandwiches and the buffalo wrap (which is a special) is my favorite. Great hamburgers, too. I've tried The Babe, Chloes Star, The Wings and a couple different drinks. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming and spacious. I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. I love the it's family oriented also. Can't wait for the patio section to open! read more

Planned a dinner for 20 on a Friday night. Tavern doesn't take reservations, but they accommodated to our party and sat us immediately. The service was great and food was amazing! Drinks were even better. Stop in and stop listening to all the Karens. read more

When our food arrived, I cut into mine and it was extremely rare--so undercooked that one side of the patty was still pink. My son's burger was cooked correctly, so I know mine clearly wasn't. When our waitress checked on us, I explained the issue, and she politely apologized and took the burger back. A few minutes later, the manager on duty brought the same burger back upstairs, slammed it down, and asked with an attitude, "What is the problem?" I explained that it was undercooked and that I had ordered medium well. She then asked, "What do you want me to do with this?" while just standing there staring at me. After acting irritated, she asked if I wanted a new burger or wanted "this one" recooked. The idea of them recooking a burger I had already cut into and handled felt completely unsanitary. Her attitude throughout the interaction was awful. I declined a replacement, and she huffed that she'd remove it from the bill. Unfortunately, it got even worse. Just minutes later, an earwig crawled out of my friend's salad. We were horrified. We took a picture, caught the bug, and asked another server to get the manager. When she returned, she walked up with her hand on her hip and said, "Now what?" We handed her the napkin with the bug, and instead of apologizing, she opened it right there on the table, let the bug crawl out, scoffed at us, and said, "Fine, I'll take that off the bill too." At that point, my friend was covering her mouth in disgust after realizing she had been eating a salad with a bug in it. Rather than showing concern or professionalism, the manager snapped, "What do you want?! I didn't put the bug in the salad." I have never experienced such unsanitary conditions combined with such shockingly hostile customer service. Mistakes can happen, but the manager's behavior was beyond unacceptable. We left disgusted and will absolutely never return.
